BigBossRazz

Heya, Pixel Peeps! I'm a Fuse Bead Vtuber posting videos about Perler Beads and bringing pixel art to life.

Some folks use Hama Beads, Artkal Beads, or Pyssla Beads, and these tutorials should still work for those Fuse Beads as well. :) I usually make nerdy art, like video game art, anime art, and retro art when it comes to Perler Beads.

I go live every once in a while. Feel free to swing by and ask questions about anything related to Perler Beads!

    Can you iron perler beads while they are still on the pegboard? Or do you HAVE to tape it?

  • @BigBossRazz
    @BigBossRazzАй бұрын

    Can you? Sure! Should you? Probably not. In many folks’ experience, the more the iron on the pegboard itself, the more likely it is that the heat from the iron will warp the pegboard and render it useless eventually. Hope that helps!

  • @BigBossRazz
    @BigBossRazzАй бұрын

    I think I get what you mean. That idea works! If it’s difficult to work in reverse, you can always place your beads as normal and use another pegboard to flip the design. You make a pegboard sandwich and just rotate it if that makes sense.

    First off, I just started doing perler beads as a new art hobbie and I found your channel through tutorials. Your channel is amazing and has helped me a lot! Keep up the good work! Second off, my main problem as an artist is the community/making friends. I really want to make friends and be surrounded by great artistic people, but I'm also afraid of getting rejected by people and I suffer from social anxiety. Also past trauma has made it more difficult. My current solution is going to therapy, but its one of those things that takes time. I just hope that one day I'll be in a mentally better state to make friends and be comfortable around people again.

    This method is infuriating when you've just finished a smaller piece, place exactly one tape piece wrong, and want to start screaming and swearing when you have to adjust the tape and everything goes to pieces. Don't think I'll be doing this, since I mostly do small themed board pieces - I'll just stick my boards under the heavy object while warm as well to avoid bending. Appreciate the warmth and friendliness in the instructions though.

    are the 22,000 bucket the standard size perler? I tried to find what size they are on the site and was unsuccessful. I went to Joann Fabrics and seen they have individual pack colors but they were bigger than the ones in the bucket.

  • @BigBossRazz
    @BigBossRazz5 ай бұрын

    I think Joann’s has been phasing out their Perler stock in recent years, but maybe that’s just something I’ve personally seen. I think the 22,000 was maybe one of the standard sizes back a few years ago, but I’m not sure if that’s changed. I do know there are different counts now for sure though. The individual packs should still be the standard “midi” size. Were you wondering about mini Perler beads?

    Looking at your iron settings you are right in assuming the lower settings are a lower temperature. Synthetic and silk fabrics must be ironed VERY delicately or they melt/burn while cotton and wool are much more durable and take more heat to manuver. So the wool setting to actually melt the beads is spot on in my opinion! Also this video is really well organized!! I accidentally stumbled across perler art your videos was one of the first to pop up and I feel like it's very beginner friendly considering I know basically nothing about the craft but you explain it well enough for me to consider tinkering.

    When using sorters with removable dividers; try using some tape to keep them from lifting up. A bit on each side should be enough. I found not all organizers are the same, and ones which have that 'grid' on the lid are best, since they keep beads from slipping over the top too! These organizers can flex slightly if you pick them up, especially when full - so the tape and the lid grid help to keep colors where they belong. The other thing I might suggest is alternate colors, so if one bead does stray into the wrong bin, it's easier to notice rather than keeping different shades of the same color together. Consider using a complimentary color, like reds and greens, or oranges and blues together! edit: if beads do slip over the top, try some bubble wrap taped to the lid - you can still see the colors through it, but should keep a seal for each bin
