I have owned my TL since new, a base 2008. . . and YES, he has saved me so much money and even the cheap fixes, like showing me how to just pop a couple of screws and get my hand in there to change my fog lights .... I did that in 10 minutes. . . the only problem was, the store only had those weak factory bulbs, but I wanted the brightest ones I could find.

Love my TL ,These cars are reliable but they do need lots of little maintenance things. I’ve replaced all kinds of little things like this on this car. All with the help of the these vids most TL repair knowledge I’ve ever seen , Pressure switches are next to fix my D light blink , my lines seem okay guess I’m ordering one of these sensors next at least it’s super simple to change.

Yep. Just replaced the unit on 2007 Acura TL. Drove about one mile to perform system re-learn. And sure enough, the obnoxious beeping sound & sign “tighten fuel cap” went away!!! Hooray!!!

Did yours ever throw a check engine light, though? My 2007 TL is also giving me this warning despite the cap being tight. No check engine code, though. I even got the car through emissions yesterday, which in CA is impossible if you have an actual active check engine code.

Ive bought the oem purge valve from the amazon link you sent it. The tighten fuel cap won’t go away. Does it just take a while to go away ? I’ve already drove for a whole hour

I got this same code after i replaced this valve. Kept coming back, i changed the gas cap and i ended up using a smoke machine from the bottom hose on this valve. The smoke came from the top of the fuel tank, i pulled the fuel pump cover off and it was coming from the vent going to the filler tube. Have you ever dropped the fuel tank? I cant find parts for the vent or videos of dropping the fuel tank on this 3rd gen acura.

This same thing keeps happening to my 08 MDX . I've replaced the cap but haven't tried replacing this purge valve yet. Thanks for the video. Any chance this could be related to difficulty starting, randomly and a check transmission light coming on? The code was P0880.

nah those are other issues but the purge valve replacement should fix your problem others issues get a full system scan and go from there.

easy and simple have change m'y solenoid but still do it after the trick is after putin gaz when close your cap....the first clic is done it good no need To turn it more than one clic ...

Have an 07 acura tl with the same problem. Will this fix it?

Does anyone know how long you can drive before having to change this out once the light comes on?

Great tutorial on this part fix. I had the "check fuel cap" light come on but it went away and then a day later I had a check engine light come on. Took it to my local Auto Zone for the code, exact same part as what you have is needed to get the fix. My only question is, where exactly is it located? Looks to be by the battery side..

Get one from the dealer aftermarket don't always work hit or a miss with those.

If this part is bad and the tighten fuel cap light is on will it cause the car to hesitate during acceleration?

This is a stupid question but can this issue also make your A/C not cool anymore? I got the spark plugs changed and now my AC isn't cold and this light came on

You cannot ,gotta get this fixed , im in the same boat if its not this or the leak detect pump on the tank then its a leak in your hoses connected to the tank

I replaced mine on 2011 mdx it fixed for a couple weeks and is back showing the tighten fuel cap error again, what can I do?

Could it be because the 2 hose clamps that did not need a needle nose pliers to loosen it, could that be the fault of leakage? You just pulled on it and it was off. THUMBS UP!!!

Might be like my issue, I used a smoke machine on the purge valve bottom hose to the fuel tank and its coming from the top of the fuel tank vent. Can't see it with the fuel pump port. 😅

A few miles after or you can erase the code with a scanner or unplugging the cars battery for 5 minutes

My 2007 Honda Accord v6 is displaying check fuel cap I check it twisted it cleaned it and still displays the same so I think this might be it when I get home Ima check this thanks g.

This morning a message appeared telling me to tighten the gas cap, but it was tight and a few weeks ago I also saw the same message. Frustrating. I have a 2013 with this problem. I appreciate the video but the video is so close to the motor and mine must be slightly different I have no idea where you are working. There needs to be some sort of orientation. I do not have the exact same thing. I have looked and I can't tell where you're working.i also have a 3.7L

I hate spending money just to stop a light from popping up on my dash. I wish I knew what wires to "jump" that was going to that solinoid so I could just trick the car into thinking the vacuum or pressure is there. I know if you just pull the thing off and let it hang, the light will come on, so how about telling me how to jump it ... he he

Did this and it worked for like 5 days and then it came back. I replaced this solenoid and the gas cap. I was low on gas and the moment the low gas light came on the tighten fuel cap light came on and then went away when I filled up my car. Then it came back when I took a hard turn. Really annoying.

You may also need a new fuel cap. Also make sure the hoses coming off of the purge valve are good because they can cause vaccum leaks if they're cracked. About to do this on my moms car as she already replaced her fuel cap and that message is gone, but still has the check engine light and code for the purge valve
