Greetings, there are Phillips head screws on the evap solenoid on my 2009 CR-V, and I'm curious to know how you were able to reach the bottom screw?

So Walmart sells a mini Phillips head ratchet set with Phillips head bits that was how I was able to get them out. The ratchet allows the small bit to go through pass to the other side. Hope that helps. Thanks for checking out the video 🎥

@@hunterandchavy Yes it did thanks. I just completed the job. I removed the top of the air box and put that Phillips head bit inside a 1/4" socket with an extension to remove the screw and I pre-treated the screws with PB Blaster. I ended up using standard hose clamps to reconnect the hoses feeding off the solenoid. Cheers!

My socket kit has screwdriver bits built into a socket too, might be worth grabbing some 3/8 drive screwdriver sockets if more torque is need for future projects

Helloo, checking what was the fix at the end if you ended up fixing? have the same codes 08 exl fuel cap looks good I want to start through the purge valve first. But when is the purge valve stuck open the car doesn't turn on easily when putting gas but that's not my case. I have those codes and the message in dash what do you recommend?

In my situation, I changed my gas cap to aftermarket Amazon brand but it did not fix it SO I purchased OEM Honda gas cap but the code came back after awhile. After much research, it was the purge valve. I used Dorman Brand aftermarket purge valve but the code came back again. So, I purchased OEM Honda Purge Valve and I cleared the code and to this day there is no more Engine light. I think your situation it maybe the evaporator charcoal canister located underneath your car next to the gas tank (I am not an expert...but I would think that could the problem you have). Sorry if this did not help you.

@@hunterandchavy I'm going to try the same, the purge valve first if it's not that I'll replace gas cap too if not then I'll keep checking, What mileage does the car have now? Mine just bought it has 223k going strong and looking really good interior and exterior mint conditions

@@platanopowerrd5669 It has 250K. I replaced the gas cap and purge valve because it was cheaper than evaporator charcoal canister. Good luck 👍

do you know of another brand of the screwdriver bits built into a socket, like the one you use, but not HyperTouch? I've a set but the bits are all messed up easily... :-) links to buy?

@@tlpphan6652 yes the combination of changing to an OEM gas cap and the purge valve… I have NOT had any issues or any check gas cap warnings or error codes come back. GL with yours 👍

Hola vine este video porque yo cambié la válvula de purga hace unos meses y resulta que hoy fui a echar gas y el carro no me quiso encender tuve que darle muchas veces para que encendiera el carro y después unos día antes me encendió la luz del chek engie y el scaner me tira valvula de purga y me dijieron que era por eso que no encendía pero quiero confirmar

Sí, estás en lo correcto. Por lo general, reemplazo las cosas baratas primero. Tapa de gasolina, la válvula de purga está al lado de la tapa de válvulas, creo. Gracias por ver agregar a esta comunidad

@@98audiquattro hey, so you have to replace with a Honda Gas Cap...this happened to me too when I used my local auto store gas cap. No my engine light has stayed off, I passed inspection, and good so far. Hope this helps. Thanks for commenting and watching.

I have started to use OEM vs aftermarket Some of these cars 🚙 are sensitive to the aftermarket ones 🤷‍♂️

@@hunterandchavy Most times I try aftermarket and have the same problem. I installed an aftermarket O2 sensor to only have to buy another a year later not worth the time.

Hola, en mi caso la luz de check se enciende unos días y se apaga. Luego se vuelve a encender, qué podrá ser? Es un Honda Civic 2015 y me indica los mismos errores el escaner

¿Reemplazaste la tapa de gasolina con piezas de Honda? Es importante utilizar únicamente piezas Honda. Intenté usar los baratos, no es bueno. Creo que la última opción podría ser su filtro de carbón llamado bote de vapor debajo del automóvil cerca de su tanque de gasolina. Lo siento, no soy bueno arreglando todo.
