So being a slow living youtuber is basically a lot of running around. 😂 It was so fun to see the behind the scenes!
Hi friends, let me know if you have any more questions! I actually had lots of fun making this video (aside from imposter syndrome intermission) so if there are many questions and any interest, I'll consider making another one!

Which tripod do you recommend for iPhone? I need a good tall one for filming that doesn’t break so easily. Thank you
Your level of cinematic expertise: you are the best filmmaker on KZread. My level of cinematic expertise: I am vaguely aware that filming involves a camera.

Well, we all have our own areas of expertise and that’s great! 😂😂
Dear Daria, It’s incredible to think that someone as amazingly talented as you could ever doubt their worth as a teacher. Your work is genuinely amazing, and I recently found myself binge-watching your videos after KZread’s algorithm blessed me with them. I can understand the curse you were talking about, but it blows my mind that someone with as much talent as you could feel that way. Thank you for sharing your talent, and please continue the incredible work. You are truly inspiring 🙏

I go very early sometimes, if I know that the place tends to get busy. Sunrise is my favourite time of day in general. 😊 But also there are a few places where for some reason not that many people go to. I avoid crowds as much as possible, so most of the time it’s dog walkers and they generally all stick to similar schedules!

This is me filming myself 😂😂 My husband is actually a cinematographer but after filming on set all day, the last thing he wants is to film me at home for my vlogs 😅 I am always try to improve myself in the way of editing and filming my videos, but i like to keep it simple. Love all the tips, beautiful video, thanks for sharing! Everything you do is magic and beautiful 🙏❤️and you really do not need to doubt yourself, you are a real artist💕
This was spiffingly brilliant; it was so delightful seeing how another creates! Would you ever perhaps make one about the editing and colouring of your videos?
@IamDaria

Oh that’s a good one! I feel like I’m editing so haphazardly nowadays 😆
This video is incredible. I am no videographer, but I am a writer, and I absolutely resonate with everything you said in that video. Thank you for shedding light on the process; I often find that the imperfection in the process itself is so seldom shared by creatives. Perhaps because we are so self-critical and we all feel like imposters, but we need to see more of it. It doesn't break the magic, as you worried about. On the contrary. It allows others to glimpse into the magic you create and, perhaps, find the courage to create their own. Keep doing what you do. Your soul is visible through every shot you film for us, and in the words you craft.
Wow! It’s quite amazing how much goes into creation of videos. Most often one doesn’t think much about everything that is considered, done and involved to make the quality content you do. Love how this video is also a low key highlights of what you’ve created over quite a period of time! Beautiful, inspirational and motivational video! Well done 😊

Hello, thanks a lot for inspiration. Yesterday my husband and I somehow find your amazing channel. And I immediately became your fun, I adore you style of video. We are also living in a small village (3.500 people) in Türkiye. My husband left İstanbul, nearly 20 million metropolis. I had been living in Kyiv, Ukraine, 3.5 million people (before war Ukrainian-Russian war started). We have been living in our "village" nearly for 5 years. At the beginning it was pretty hard to adopt. But now we love our place and our life style. We also interested in Japan approaches to life. Thanks a lot for mentioning it in your video about forest.
This was so helpful. I'm glad you decided to make and release this video. And what you said never being satisfied as a creator helps too❤❤
😃👍 Amazing video, Daria!! 👌I have always admired the cinematography of your videos, and it is so nice to watch a BTS! 😉"Whenever I have company, I want to dedicate myself to the person I'm with". Yup, that's, in a nutshell, being an introvert!😉 Our energy and attention always go to those around us, and everything else gets blocked, it seriously affects our emotional and creative experiences. 😊No true artist has ever been entirely satisfied with the outcome of their endeavours, but that is a good thing, I think! Francisco de Goya drew himself as an extremely old man with a long white beard, barely able to walk with two sticks, and above, he wrote: "Aún aprendo", which means "I still learn". That's the spirit of a true artist, to feel you always have something new to learn! 😊 I certainly see you as an artist, Daria! Thank you for showing us how you paint with your camera!! 🙏 👏👏👏 🤗🥰😘

2046 by Wong Kar Wai is a really good Love story. A movie which is standing out,,still, after all these years. Did not expect to find him as a source of your inspiration but somehow it seems fitting 😎
Daria, such an interesting video! In some shots, you kept the nature sounds (like birds singing). You should do that more in your videos, it was so relaxing to listen to! And it would make them even more immersive:)
I love the way you film and the places you choose are so beautiful! It’s nice to hear your process. I take a lot of nature photos and I agree you have to look at much as you can and notice the little things. I want to get into more videos as well and your videos inspire me

Such a lovely video with great ideas. I’m a photographer and I’ve thought for so long to start a KZread channel but I’m used to being only behind the camera. I need a mental technique to not think I look awful on camera every time I see myself. 😅
Even this {reality}, is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your process. It truly is an art form. I imagined it was painstaking and time consuming, but you make it seem simpler / easier. Not that I have any plans to film myself for any reason. You're very good at what you do, despite what experts might say one should or shouldn't do. I like your approach, and can definitely understand what you say about being "lazy". In my mind it's not being lazy exactly. More like wanting to keep things as simple and easy on yourself as possible. To my way of thinking that's just smart.

Thank you Daria, this is so useful and interesting to see your behind the scenes and how you create your videos. I use a remote control app to connect my phone with my camera as well. Thank you for sharing this behind the scene video. You inspire me and I will definitely use your tips for my shots. I am expecting new tools to help me cope with my lack of technique. I do believe that creators’ works will feel much easier very soon with AI: no heavy tripods or cameras to bring everywhere, no disappointment of missing one shot; it could be recreated in a few seconds… I would love to hear your point of view about how AI could help your creations. I love your inner world and the way you express it through your channel. You’re not alone in feeling doubtful about your work. I feel the same way.
@IamDaria
Ай бұрын
I have very mixed feelings about AI, I’ll be honest. I think it can be quite helpful with tedious tasks. For example, if you take photos and want to remove something from the background (rubbish, crowds, etc) there are already AI tools which help you do it fast and clean. But I don’t think AI should replace the actual creative mind and the beauty of a creative process. If anything, I believe with AI taking over, actual real creative thinking will become invaluable. Though if these is an artificial intellect that can help me carry my tripod and do other manual tasks that interfere with creativity (like washing dishes or keeping me dry in the rain) I’d be up for that 😅
I love your style. I was honestly super inspired by the Handmaid’s Tale to learn more about cinematography. I love their use of colour and light to really set the tone of their scenes. If you haven’t watched the series, I really suggest it, although it does get a little dark.
@IamDaria

@@IamDaria yes! And the way the camera is so controlled in Gilead, and yet when theyre showing the "before" times, it's much more natural. Its such a beautiful series. Also, I desperately want the kitchen and dining area of the Waterfords' house. It is just sooo spot on. I actually live in Ontario, not too far from where they filmed many scenes. I should go visit there sometime - youre so lucky to live near a wealth of gorgeous picturesque places. 🌱
Thank you for doing this video. I had considered messaging you to suggest you talk a bit about the how of what you do. The stories you tell are lovely, but the visual aesthetic of your videos is equally deep. Like all the dreamy POV shots; I had wondered if you used diffusion filters. Then you introduce the f 0.95 Voigtlander and I knew that was how those shots came together. That and shooting into the light. It would be interesting to know how you develop the look of your videos. Talk a little about the edit. Maybe just the broad concepts. Finally, it's always interesting to know what inspired the art. What is the creative process like? Again, thank you so much.
❤
What a fantastic behind the scenes look! Maybe you have thought about making short cottagecore videos for those who can't or don't want to (for a fee of course!). I don't know if anyone does that kind of thing, but it occurred to me surely there's a market for it! Or maybe watching you I was being nostalgic about my own younger days.

This is such an useful video! Both in technical and spiritual advice! I am curious about the dark shots where you perform an action by the candle lite, they look so crisp and clear. I am curious, how do you achieve that? Whenever I do that, my image is grainy. Thank you so much again for this!❤
I loved this video. It shows us a little glimpse of how much time and effort you put into your videos. They are soo beautiful. Thank you for the film recommendations. Thank you for sharing your process, this helps a lot of independent filmmakers like me to get a deeper perspective into what goes into making something so beautiful. I was curious about one thing though since I have faced challenges earlier, so when you are trying to capture yourself from afar you showcased using the app but I don't know if it's a limitation with my XT5 but I can only record 1080P 30fps when I use the app, so it's a lot of guesswork trying to figure out if the focus is locked on me as the subject. How do you manage that or there's no such limit with the XH2s?
I like it 😅❤

Hello from Bosnia. You are so calm, sensual,smart and beautiful.
I shoot with my phone...is there any app i can use to see my screen from another phone??
I recently purchased a Sony a7iv and Sigma lens 24-70 mm. It provides very good videos but NOT cinematic, blurry/creamy and darker like your videos and NOT like your instagram "painting look like" great photos. Should I change lens (50mm for nature)? Instead of bright light videos and photos, how I can make them darker like yours? Please advise. Thanks
@IamDaria
Күн бұрын
Oh Sony camera is actually what I was considering as well! I haven’t used it before though, so just from the top of my head I’d suggest to invest into a prime lens instead. 50mm f1.4 would be quite good and versatile. The F stop number matters, so go as low as possible (like f1.4). I’m not sure which lenses work for Sony, but for me the big thing is that I use Voigtlander and a Leica glass lenses and they give me that look. Maybe there is an equivalent for Sony! Vintage lenses could be an option too. In terms of light, I tend to shoot slightly underexposed, especially for photos. If you’re shooting RAW then you’ll easily bring shadows up in editing, but if you overexpose, it’s difficult to get rid of the highlights! For videos I underexpose just ever so slightly though. I hope this helps! Sony is a great camera, but choosing the right lens is important!
