How to DOMINATE In Fighting Games - Offense and Pressure

Ойын-сауық

The next topic in our multi-part guide is learning how and when you should jump, as well as baiting out opponents Supers. People often say "Don't jump" which is usually advice with good intentions, as jumping is risky, but Street Fighter is never that black and white. Let's learn about what a good jump looks like and take some examples from Daigo to show us!

Probably Footsies works at high ranks. In my platinum, people just press buttons without thinking and my Footsies are destroyed.

Bruhhh I can definitely see that, I'm master and run into some plat players that just go wild lol so I have to match that energy sometimes for the win 😂😂

@@venivediicommented4046at plat level we mostly play master ranked on alt characters. Yall don't even fill out your alt char profile and have reactions inappropriate to the level and perfect drive rush burnout 60% combos with barely any kudos in the char.

I just have a quick question for anyone as someone who's still very new to fighting games. When people get punish counters (or any other non standard hit), do they react to punish counter to choose their combo, or do they choose the combo knowing they'll get punish counter because they know how their move will interact with the other. In other words, I'm not clear if, say, I'm whiff punishing with Cammy's 2MK->DR, is it more important I practice the range, so I know that when I do it, it'll hit every time and I can combo, or is it more important I can recognize the punish counter as it comes up, and then go into my combo. In another way, I guess the question is is whiff punishing/getting a punish combo more reactive or predictive . I basically just struggle to go into longer strings, because I don't really understand how people are recognizing combo opportunities yet, and I'd appreciate input form anyone.

yea more often than not, people know they will punish counter if the move connects. The easiest example is after a DP. If you block a DP then of course your next move will punish counter. But even when you are playing in neutral, a lot of punish counter conversions are when you know that you will specifically whiff punish a move. So I might be at a range where my Cr.MK as Cammy will not hit my opponent, but if they whiff a poke, my Cr.MK will either punish counter or just miss because I was too slow.

@@MikeyDLuffy Thanks for the reply! That makes sense to me, so basically, for learning, I should probably prioritize knowledge and learning different situations, rather than try to react to everything. Is that why buffering works? (Obviously, I assume there's more nuance, but for simplicity's sake), Basically in the same example, I can throw the CrMK, and then buffer the special, and if it hits, then I'll get the special cancel and I can start the full punish counter combo, since I know that when it lands, it's a PC, and otherwise, I can just keep playing neutral right? And thanks for the content :). SF6 is my first fighter, so there's a lot I'm still learning, and your covering the footsies handbook, and helping relate that to SF6 since I am not familiar with the older games has been a huge help.
