    If you live anywhere near Los Angeles, you really owe it to yourself to go out there and try it. Everything they make is fantastic, but their chocolate ganache mochi is seriously one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. I actually was in the middle of eating one of those when I came across this video. And obviously not that I'd tell anyone how to live their life, but I do hope Korey decides to take over the family business when/if Brian decides to retire.

    Family business can be both a blessing and a curse. You will always have the stability and don’t ever have to think how to make ends meet. At the same time, if you have a gift that goes outside the realms of the family business (specially being from a japanese family) and one wishes to pursue that aspiration then a lot of drama will ensue.

  • @recoil53

    @recoil53

    4 жыл бұрын

    Well you don't necessarily have stability - you have to change with the times or die like the businesses around your's did. Change too much and too fast and people complain, you always have to thread that needle. However in Japan businesses have been handed down outside the family, like in the bladesmithing business. Technically the new person is 'adapted' and becomes the next generation owner. But yeah, no freedom to be you.

    g e o idk about stability part but yeah I agree, all it takes for the business to end is someone along the family line that doesn’t want to take over the business, which it is his choice

  • @Wra8h

    I think the OP means there's always something to fall back to. Mochi isn't going away any time soon so you won't starve and be out of job if you have this business. You won't necessarily have a successful one that's stable without a lot of effort -and even then that's not granted-, that's for sure.

    I love going here! I remember when my Japanese Summer school went to go and make some with Mr. Brian. He’s so nice just like in here. And the mochi is delicious! It’s perfect. The softness, sweetness, tastiness, and the chewiness! If you ever in LA go and have a taste!!
