    Indeed it took me quite a while to figure out that my power steering must be electrical. NV200 2014. But also because the power steering feels different from an hydraulic one. Thanks for the explanation HOWSTUFFINMYCARWORKS!

    Thank you so much for the detailed video with visual. I recently had a plastic stool come under my 2014 honda crv and after which the steering has a loose feeling. I have to also turn it quiet a bit for turning the wheels. Do you think it could be the torgue sensor in the rack pinion or something loose in the steering column assembly? ...thanks for your help in advance

    I had a 2013 Explorer towed in today, the rack is locked! Can't budge the wheel. We are waiting for a tow truck to get it in tomorrow. Have you ever seen this? I want to get it on the lift and see, but I can't imaging anything holding with this force! This video rock's, thank you.

    I have a 2010 Acura TL "tech package". Ive changed the entire rack and pinion twice.. Both times it had water in the motor.. WTH.. how and why. I have a "motor angle sensor" issue again and I think it's probably the motor rusting with water. How so.. :( Any suggestions?

    One thing you missed is I think to turn the morter you need to have a signal.Where is that signal comming from?PCM or Steering angle sensor.

    Hey, very informative video, I have a 2011 Acura TSX with electronic power steering issue were the power steering stops working randomly and then starts working after several hours. Also, the steering wheel sometimes rotates by itself, what could be the issues in your opinion considering the parts you discussed in this video thanks.

    I have a 2014 Ford Focus EV with 56k, that just recently went to "armstrong steering " with a message on the instrument area with power steering assist fault. Located fuse, found ok, looked under vehicle, nothing out of the ordinary. After watching some KZread videos, apparently the various Ford products are prone with this problem . Checked for any recalls on this and came up empty handed. What's my next go-to plan?

    I have a 2014 Smart Fortwo I bought for my youngest daughter. Why is my steering hard and even harder when it almost done with the turn. It returns by itself so I don’t think it’s the dampner. Do those units have any lubricants like grease? I have a 2008 Smart Fortwo and that one turns softly on a dime with no issues. Anyone help

    That's impossible to do, you can go to the dealer and complain and they might re-program it if Honda Motor Corp. has given that ability and it's the same for all companies, Corvette and Mustang the company put it on the dash so the driver can do it himself (choose hard /soft), some early models like in the 80' we use to change the prom for customer who had a complain i.e. the car it's shifting too quick, the new prom essentially is a new program we remove the old program (prom) and we put the new program, on more modern cars they download the new program directly into ECU etc. provided that there was enough complaint and the company has decides to do some changes, but as a mechanic I have never seen from any company to let a mechanic to actually go inside the program and start modifying a program, those are top secrets and only handful of people have access to the program in the entire General Motor corporation and usually those are computer program writer. imagine if you have access, you can make the car never pop-up check engine light, change timing curve so you can have more power. some program Edelbrock is programmable buy the driver but it's not actually programing it's actually Edelbrock gave access to change some values, you cannot go inside Edelbrock program you can only go where they allow you to go and change values, no body gives access to the program.

    I have a 2021 Honda Pioneer 1000-3 UTV and my EPS Warning Light came on while I was driving it. Immediately, the Steering went from Power Assist to the feel of Manual Steering. Does anyone here know what I need to do to diagnose it rather than spend $195.00 at my Powersports Dealer just to hook up their machine which may not happen for another 2-3 weeks due to Seasonal Back Log. Please HELP ME... I need my Pioneer to work my property.

    Why didn’t they just stick to an pump off the engine ? Let’s try & re invent the wheel .. ridiculous

  • @Notfiveo0

    @Notfiveo0

    6 ай бұрын

    Probably because that pump uses horsepower and therefore less fuel economy. There is also less room in the engine compartment of newer vehicles, let’s not forget electric steering is not only more precise but the steering can adjust to various driving habits and road conditions. Let’s not forget that you can’t have lane assist without electronic steering.

    Long story short why so much shit instead going or using old school steering system. Japanese olds saying if is working properly leave it alone.
