I am 57. I lift weights 4 days a week. Diet is spot on. Gaining muscle. In a 2 week period I dropped from 38" to 36" pants, yet lost no weight. Then a week later 7 pounds fell off... So don't get caught up in numbers. Be patient. You didn't gain that weight in a month. So don't expect to lose it that fast either 😉.

I too lost inches before pounds. Went from 36 to 34 waist in 3 weeks on very low carbs and 0 sugar. Best of luck and God bless!

Yes you can
Last time I weighed myself I hadn’t lost anything even though I was doing intermittent fasting for 2 weeks and it ruined my whole day and made me doubt what I was doing and want to give up. . I now refuse to weigh myself more than once a month and just trust the process as I know I’m doing everything right. Fingers crossed for me
I lost weight by weighing myself daily and writing it down along with everything I ate. If I lost weight I kept doing that, if I gained weight I knew whatever I was eating wasn't working.

@@lifewithzinnahOnly near my period. It use to fluctuate more when I regularly at carbs. I always weigh myself first thing in the morning without clothes on.
Your wisdom and authenticity moves me. Thank you for the wonderful insights and knowledge.
I never used a scale... didn't even have one in my place...just went by my clothes getting looser & my face thinner. My starting weight was 162 lbs. After 4 months of Keto/clean eating/ intermittent fasting, I was surprised when I finally weighed myself at my friend's home that I was 140 lbs! It works better for me not to be daily/ weekly obsessed with weighing.

same for me... similar experiences in the past, and now again losing weight- the numbers just don't help me and actually hinder. I don't want my thoughts to be taken up with a constant measuring of "where am I now"
I weigh myself every morning because it keeps me accountable.
Weighing myself daily is so depressing. I can see my weight fluctuate 6 lbs in one day! Once I reach my goal then i would feel more confident weighing daily. Just to keep an eye on things
I am like this person. I felt discouraged and thought of quitting , Thank you for sharing your experience . You are a blessing to many . Thank you :)
Thanks for putting this information out there. Been down every road. Know yourself! Be honest.
All very good points. I have been weighing daily, recording weekly on an app. When a month is over, I take out all but one number to see my monthly progress. This has shown me, that my weight is slowly dropping from month to month. I feel like the daily weigh in is obsessive for me, working on reducing it to once a week. As usual, thank you for your insights!
Thanks Dr. Becky. Always very calm and very good knowledge. God bless my Sister in Christ
Great advice Becky!
40 days.... Great advice. I have been on 16-8 intermittent fasting for almost a year and it has me a freedom from food obsession
Dr Backy you are amazing. I learned a lot from your videos. I'm waiting myself twice a day. I now I'm stupid. But when I can see everyday my wait is down I'm very proud of myself and happy. Thank you so much. Love from London
You're right on time again in my life thank you so much I'm going to try the 40-day.
I love your videos and they help make sense of healthy eating and weight loss. It’s lovely to find out in today’s video that you are a fellow Believer.😊🐟
I like using a measuring tape to inches lost or my jeans will always let me know i use to get hung up on the scale, but find the daily water retention ups and downs always drove me to distraction and kept me too focused on numbers and not the reason for the health part of it.
You have changed my life. Thank you so much. Weighing myself once every 2 weeks or so. Way more disciplined now.
Thank you, daily weighing can be very discouraging due to, speaking for myself, some days it appears I’ve gained 4#. Then the next lost only 1#. I have struggled trying to stay off the scales but I believe it’s best to weigh weekly or monthly 👍👍
Very timely video since lent starts tomorrow...a great time to do/start a 40 day "get healthy" plan.☺
I have hypothyroidism, Hashimoto disease and am having problems losing. I am averaging about 1 pound a week. Been low carb/ keto since Nov 4, 2018. I weigh every day and watch the fluctuations of a pound up and down but helps me keep from over eating in fear I will gain the 28 pounds back I have lost. I keep praying that my body will give up soon and let me start losing more. I have been on a stall for 3 weeks, drink BPC in the morning, do intermittent fasting 16-18 hours everyday and don't eat after supper. I do low carb shakes for dinner 3-4 times a week.
I have been on keto 11 months, and just turned a very young 64 (female), and do not own a set of scales but I can see how slim and healthy i am and that is good enough for me! Hi from Australia.

Great advice, Dr. Becky! Thank you!
Hiya! Dr Beck I love your videos....I never believed in weighing myself but now I do it almost everyday to keep a track.....on my way to weight loss.
Following these results for low-carb⏳as you look marvelous !
Thank you Dr. Becky... Again, great video... Judy in Tennessee
I’ve been intermittent fasting since second week of January and dropped off quick initially. Actually now more like one meal a day. My window now is 6-8 pm typically and eat a large home wade salad and something else just small amount. Went from 202 to 187 and have been there for over a week now. I’m 52 and 5foot 4inches. Trying to get back down to what I weighed when went in military or at least close. Also to lose my gut and ease up lower back pain and knee pain
I have a range of skirts in different sizes - they are my scale. LOL. Happy to say i'm about to buy a couple the next size down for inspiration as I work toward a healthier weight.
I weigh myself every single day and keep records. It gives me great feedback about what foods cause me to bloat, retain water, etc. I watch for weight loss trends kind of like watching the stock market. Is the trend basically going down or up? I've lost 57lbs. so far and counting doing three things. 1. Eating clean no chemical organic foods. 2. Keto lifestyle choices. 3. Proper micro nutrient supplements like Standard Process B vitamins etc. I don't exercise.
When I was trying to lose weight, I weighed myself every Friday morning. I am now at my goal weight and just weigh sporadically just to make sure that I have not fallen off the wagon and gained several pounds.
I can't tell you how much this video helped me. I have such a difficult time figuring out if I should weigh myself daily, weekly or what? Its a very painful experience for me. I am a scientist so numbers, graphs, tracking, its an obsession. However with the scale its incredibly difficult to see the fluctuations. I am going to lay off for a while and let the fit of my clothing let me know. I am doing all the right things with food and exercise. Thank you Dr. Becky.
I bought a digital scale that connects through Bluetooth to my phone. Weigh myself everyday. It's just a fun thing to do on the fitness journey. Tracks a bunch of other stats too. Also track everything I eat with MyPlate app. And just ordered another scale to weigh my food, so i know exactly what I'm consuming.
Wow! You've done great! I'm inspired 😎👌
You are such a blessing! Thank you for your encouraging and informative videos! You look great, my sister in Jesus! -Lisa
Great show. I'm so attached to the scale and knowing what's going on with my body on a daily basis that if I didn't it would cause me more stress. How ironic at a doctor's appt...they ask you to step on that dreaded scale and what it registers doesn't reflect inches lost.
My husband and I weigh once a week. After our weigh in, we talk about the past week of eating (low carb) and the highs and lows of recipes or food choices. My highest weights in past decades have been due to avoiding the scale for months at a time. For me the scale is an objective measurement... stretchy pants aren’t....:(
Well, you are proof that your teachings are effective. You are knowledgeable (a subject matter expert), but also disciplined and focused. That stuff equals...you get where ya want to be.
Awesome video🥰
It was helpful to weigh myself daily as I was learning about low carb and then the keto diet. I also learned a lot about my body. I was definitely surprised a few times. Going on 9 month, I still weigh myself almost daily.

useless number that dictates your life and fucks with your emotions. Free yourself, eat healthy and exercise. You will lost weight.
I've been listening to your videos and really enjoying both the content and your peaceful presence. When you said here you're a Christian, I was like, Of course!! That explains it. 😊
as many times as much you want, if you have aria scale, then you can see the average per week which is more important for me then any individuals measurements
Have loved watching your videos & looking at joining the challenge. I have been doing strict OMAD, 90% plant based for the last 2 years, and 50g carbs. Does your meal plan cater to this type of eating?
I don't have a scale so over the last 14 months when I started this plan I just used clothes that were to tight and would weekly try on that pair of pants I planned to wear. Now down 39 pounds and feeling like this Intermittent fasting is now a way of life for me and the elimination of sugar were the two biggest factors. I know it works and I feel good.
I weigh myself on the same scale and wearing roughly the same type & amount of workout clothes, on my gym days. That comes out to about 3-4 days per week. On my run days, I don’t weigh myself. If I am out of town for work, I wait until I return to my gym to weigh myself again. I try to keep everything consistent so that I can accurately track my progress.
Omg i literally just got off the scale, a little down(pun intended) then i find this, i think youve got some esp dr.b
I find that daily weights have helped me reduce the power I give the number on the scale, so I'm less obsessive. If I miss a day here or there I'm not bothered, and if my number goes up a bit I know it'll come back down and I don't need to worry if I'm following my plan.
Even though I was three hundred fifty three pounds, I did not do this to lose weight but to improve my health. I've lost more than one hundred ten pounds anyway, and I still only weigh when my wife gets curious. I did not go on a diet so much as I changed my eating style.
I had to throw my scales away ...l got paranoid about weight fluctuations....I measure and that works then I weigh (I've lost 12 ins off my waist )at the pharmacy every 8 weeks now to maintain my 50 lb weight loss.
I'm wondering if I should weigh myself at all. Perhaps I should just go by measurements and how I feel?? Anyone got any wise words?
👍 great tip makes sense
I don't own scales, but weigh when I go to my Dr's office. I'm happy with the results
I am probably a bit strange but I chart my weight almost daily - they do fluctuate a lot. If you only take 1 measurement per week I suspect you can "game" the system by charging the routine on the day or two before the measurements. I don't really care what the numbers are as long as the trend keeps going in the right direction. If not I have a visual trend line. I also do a lot of weights and cardio and have body composition analyses (% fat/%lean muscle). Love your inspiring attitude.
I see now the weight loss plan has daily food... plans ... I have been dairy/ sugar/ free and low carb eating for 14 days - basically an anti inflammatory diet and I feel good - now I need weight loss - which Plan would you suggest ; 52 year, 5’6” and 162 lbs🥴
Thanks u ...
There are many variables, personality type, where the at in your journey and goals. I find some people do better with a tape measure others with that one pair of pants to gage changes. See what helps you without triggers
I am weighing between the 21 day and the coaching plan ... are both menus in MyFitnessPal ? I eat clean... very clean 0123- but have 20 menopausal lbs that I’ve acquired before changing my eating two weeks ago and would like a plan ! Does the coaching program lay out the strategic eating by day?

Hi Kim, the coaching program contains the meal plans used for the 21-Day Challenge as well as five more week-long meal plans that range from low-carb to keto. In the coaching program, the meal plans are delivered as downloadable plans and members only are given the key to the menus in MyFitnessPal. Here is a page where you can learn more about the coaching program: www.drbeckyfitness.com/coaching. Here is a preview of the 21-Day Challenge: www.drbeckyfitness.com/course/21-day-challenge/
I didn't realize you claimed to be a Christian! What church do you associate with? -There are so many different kinds of religions that categorize themselves as "Christian" Just curious 🙂 Buy the way, I love your channel and the one you have with your husband as well. It has been so helpful for my husband!! We appreciate you two!!! I just wanted to let you know! 😊
Started my 40 days from 3 / 5 to 4/ 16 .
You have a great kitchen.
40 days sounds like a great interval! Getting too caught up in numbers can lead to self sabotage and going off course!
Do we have to take multiminerals and celinum when we reach our forties or when we are on keto?

It is important to supplement with electrolytes on a keto diet. I've discussed them in a number of videos. I believe I mention them here: studio.kzread.infoUZw9IP0N7xA/edit
I weigh myself every single day and record all my fluctuations in my app on my cell phone if not I will forget to take care of my meal.
I weigh myself everyday. I think it helped me keep my weight in check. I know that my body will keep itself at bay and sometimes you can't loose weight when you reached that ceiling. It's normal. Don't give in your feelings.
Also freedom from obsessing about the scales.
I weigh myself every Saturday morning, right after i pee. My diet consumption is fairly routine.
Never!
So I am curious to know if you are making an future podcast when nutritionists like Ben Greenfield and his friend Max.

Hi Yifei, there is no plan for that
I weigh myself daily, it keeps me honest with myself.
Thanks for the video! And you're a Christian...💜
I feel you should weigh yourself every 2 weeks to know where you are. I do it every Saturday when I wake up after you go to the bathroom, before you eat or drink. Doctors are too nice! American eat too much and don't weigh themselves. This is not FAT shaming it's a fact!! Think health first than about being thin! Without Health you cannot do anything in life!!!
I weight myself twice every day.
if you weigh every day with a healthy mindset to take numbers over a period of time rather than taking every day as being the end all i think it's not a bad thing. if it makes you feel bad to weigh in every day then maybe once a week. i gained 4.5 lbs in 3 days. it's impossible to gain 4.5 lbs of fat in 3 days. it is possible to gain that in water and even a pound if you're eating an extremely high calorie diet. the best way is to chart your weight. myfitnesspal keeps you daily weigh ins and shows you over time what it looks like on a chart. while it will go up and down, a chart will show you a steady decline or rise over a period of several days.
I'm do 40 day
The only time I weight myself is when I go see a Dr for check up.
👍🏻🥦👏
I like myself better chunky, but I had to lose weight because of my blood sugar.
I weigh myself 2-3 times a day.
Get so depressed every time I pick up daily
40 is also significant in ayurveda 😀
What about the 40 nights? 😄
Loving your videos! And to find out you are a Christian too!! Yay!! Now we don't have to worry about new agey stuff coming in!
A whole lot of talking without saying anything
