My name's Pete and I'm the host of the Aussie English Podcast, a podcast dedicated to teaching people Australian English, which often includes Australian slang too!
Many of my students, listeners, and viewers, arrive in Australia, Down Under, and quickly come into contact with strange words that they've never heard before. When they ask me about them, they're almost always Australian slang terms that they've heard in real English conversations with native speakers.

I saw a poster on the internet from an Australian train company that hypothetically encouraged a young man named "Jim" not to w*nk on the train because he saw a pretty girl (written in the "See John run, see Sally laugh" style used in old elementary school textbooks). It ended something like "Jim decides to get home before he has a w*nk. Good on you, Jim!" It was very well done and I've never been sure if it was a parody or not.
