@@falsehoodbasher7240 No, it was not just her looks even though she was a former beauty queen. Very much a vibe thing and she just felt right in my gut. The girlfriend before her was a professional model and I ended up dumping and ghosting her. She liked to use people and had other issues. I have always been a guy interested in the "whole package" and not just how a woman looks.

After about three weeks I told my roommate I would not be surprised if I married her. After a few months of dating she met my parents and my dad said, "You better marry her because you won't find another one like her." Before that, my parents said I was too particular. After I married her, they never said that I was too particular. They said many times that I have a great wife. Over 40 years later I believe every word they said about her. I am a very fortunate man. My daughter thought she should be different, but as she gets older she is finding out what a great mom she has. My wife gets compliments all the time about how kind she is. I have never met a woman who is as kind as she is. So many times people have given us things we never expected or asked for simply because my wife is so kind and encourages me to help people.

They both decided to wait until marriage to have sex (both are Christians). He waited over 5 years for her. They are married and have 2 kids now. My brother said the right woman is worth waiting for. He told me not to tell her, but he would of waited another 5 if she asked him to. That's how you know you have a keeper. As a person with quite the judgemental, unaccepting family, I wouldn't say that's a red flag anyway. You're marrying the man you love, not his family; If they aren't good to either of you, it's likely neither of your faults. Screw them, you love who you love and they have no right to interfere in either of your guys' decisions to love one another.

However it's about how much YOU'RE willing to put up with it, because you'll have to deal with them to the extent your partner associates with them. If you plan on having kids, think about how his family may impact your future children too. If you're man is not standing up for you when his family mistreats you, consider that a red flag, because a marriage is a partnership. Both of yall should be advocating for your relationship when someone is putting your relationship at risk, weather that's family or a non-family member. Some people struggle with asserting themselves verbally and making healthy boundaries with people in general. Try to figure out why your partner is struggling to speak up. It may be more of a him problem than a you problem. Regardless of his problems, it's about how much you think is worth it because we're not made to fix our partners at the end of the day that's something they need to put effort in so they're emotionally available to invest in cultivating a healthy relationship.

Yep, that's what it is. My husband felt like "home" right away. I am looking at one of his long love letters to me as I type this. I got super lucky. (And got a real babe, to boot, a ripped athlete with an artist's soul).

After 7months of meeting me my husband proposed, I was just 18 and he was 20. I said no because I knew i wasn't ready mentally for that of a decision. We still dated, we got married when I was 23, he was 25. We'll be celebrating our 15th anniversary this month. God is truly amazing, if he loves you he'll be yours and you'll be his. ❤❤

I recognized his face from his pictures that I saw after we were married. I believe you will meet your other half no matter what. They will cross your path if not once, twice. Our fathers knew each other even tho I lived in Brooklyn and he lived in NYC, he lived down the block from my aunt and played with my cuzn in the local park. We didn't meet till I was 18.

If you're already doing everything and you get married after, the only difference is that you've now got a paper that says so. There's passion before ofcourse, but I respect the institution of marriage so much that I'm willing to put my desires on hold and control myself :)

I agree and disagree. I feel that older generations didn’t really have any options and divorce was more taboo. Having no morals/ethics and values, poor upbringing, dysfunctional families have all contributed to this. I think this is very evident in western nations. Where I am from, marriage is still very much sacred. People value finding the right partner. I agree with my grandparents sentiments on marriage . One thing that I remember my grandfather saying to me is that marriage is when you are together for so long that you fall out of love into deep dislike and back into love but for a totally new reason than in the beginning . I think my grandparents know what their talking about , married for just under 51 years and passed on 3 months apart . Be more optimistic otherwise ur negative outlook will surely bring negative outcomes ..:D

Walking down the isle for the sake of just saying you're married carries NO VALUE in today's world. It's about the long haul baby! If you've been proposed multiple times, like me, shot them down on my own accord because I felt like the guys were not the one for me, well then a bullet was dodged. My father's friend went to a theatre to watch a play and checked his coat. After getting the coat-check ticket he told the buddy he was with that the coat-check girl was the one for him. After the show when he retrieved his coat he asked the girl out on a date. Apparently he was the one for her too because they were engaged a couple of days later, and were married about a week after they met. The marriage lasted! They lived happily ever after until death did they part. Of course moving so quick isn't recommended but some people do experience love at first sight and have it work for them.

I don't know what is happening I sent my email almost twice

I came on a visit to Australia to meet my cousin's and other relatives. I met my future husband at a Christmas social gathering. he immediately knew I was the right one and proposed in two weeks. I went back to India, , he came to visit my family and we got engaged. After one year we got married, and this year we celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary.We are blessed with two adorable children.

I was 17 when I met his Mom. We drove about 4 1/2 hours to her grave and left her flowers, and he told me a few stories he remembered about her. He told me how often family members told him of how much he was like her. He told me that she would have loved me. We’re getting married after we graduate college.

I met "The One" roughly 100+ days ago. It started out really slow, but every time we met in person, we got closer and closer and closer. Every time we're together, we are both our authentic selves, and all cards are on the table. I think one of the biggest indicators of her being "The One" for me was the fact that she refuses to date unless it's a man she plans on marrying, so I'd say my future is set very nicely. Don't change for anyone! The right person will come around and let you be yourself with them. 12/10/23 UPDATE: We've been officially dating for two months now and it goes from strength to strength each day.

My husband introduced me to his family 2 weeks after we started dating. And a few months later I started noticing him using that "we" thing. I was included in all his future plans. We're 15 yrs married now by God's grace.

Wow congrats!

My husband said he knew i was the one the moment he landed his eye on me, he waited for me to finish my studies (I was in my final year) to ask me to be his wife. He didn't want to distract me😂 but the crazy thing is, he proposed a month to my final exams.( That's a major distraction as we were not dating, just good friends. Anyways, we are happily married now.
