Here’s how a S$2,390 wireless speaker sounds like | Full Review

We got to try out the Devialet Phantom Reactor 900 and was just blown away. Do not be quick to judge the small form factor of the Reactor - it is powerful, really powerful! Check out our full review for more information.

You can pair two of those for stereo.

I've had my pair of 900W reactors for a few days now. The sound quality is mind blowing, but my right side reactor keeps dropping out and I have to reconnect very often. Its driving me crazy. Does anyone have any tips for maintaining a consistent stereo connection. I use a Bluetooth connection with my mobile to play music. Both reactors are plugged into the same wall socket and my network interface on both reactors is set to WI-FI. Ive tried Auto and PLC, they both drop out. Funny thing is, that its always my right side speaker that drops out, yet my Devialet app says the left side speaker is missing. Very strange. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, can the phantom reactor be used as a subwoofer since it has a 3.5 input.

Do you notice a difference in sound quality when using the "AV sync" mode vs standard?

  • @TechLingo

Hi Ralphy! We couldn't detect any noticeable difference. With that said, we were only testing it on video playback - which probably means the audio is already compressed. So you might only hear a difference when playing lossless music through the speaker. But then again, if you're just listening to music, we would recommend to keep the "AV sync" mode off as any audio latency is irrelevant in this case.

Love it. Was looking at the 600 but for an extra $300 the 900 Reactor is a good upgrade. My only issue... don’t know the reliability.

I sent mine back today within their 14 day remorse period . These lack detail at the cost of extreme volume and bloated booming bass sure they look cool but as soon as you hear them you know more than looks are required to splash £1350 FOR EACH speaker , they proved to be a huge disappointment , Devialet told me they are bringing out a graphic equaliser app to tweak the signal presumably to satisfy the number of complaints just like mine .

I didn't believe listening to them in a set up that bares little or no resemblence to what i i would actually hear at home could help me to assess their performance . In truth they are massively over priced offering little in the way of sonic detail and deliver nothing short of a loud boom box sound . I doubt very much their graphic equaliser app proves to be anything more than a gimmick to entice those like me back . and of course stem the tide of returns .

Because definitely you can hear how it really sounds like from a compressed video on youtube, even if its registered with the best mics, it'll still go through your computer speakers. So...? yeah. that sucks.
