Oh my goodness that is better. I have had off and on issues with sciatica since I twanged the nerve 5 years ago. I have tried other somatic remedies but this was is by far the best for me. I found as we did the toe flat repeatedly in the beginning, the opposite foot from my sciatica was slower. Then as we did the side sweep with the feet to the slow foot side I realized it was flossing the sciatic nerve through the pelvis on the problematic side. Delight, when I naturally started exploring the feet and head simultaneously same direction...Lovely. All the variations produce their own subtle cues. When we rested and lay on our backs, I could immediately feel a difference. Prior to doing this lesson I had lain on my back, noticing how soft my non-sciatica-side of my body was and how the sciatica side seemed to be tighter and higher vertically- the tension in the muscles all along the right side seemed to be lifting me towards the ceiling. After just the first series leading into our first “lie on your back”, the sciatica side of the body was softer, less elevated. Amazing! After complete the whole series the perpetual cramp of my gluteus muscles have softened. I have more natural movement in my spine, hips, knees and feet. Thank you so very much! Your effervescence and shear joy shine through, lifting us up and drawing out a sense of play and delight in the exploration. I am truly a fan!

Oh my goodness, this lesson was awesome. I can’t believe how much ease and better ( no Pain) I feel as I have sciatica and I have mild osteoporosis in my hip. This was the best medicine I’ve received. I’ve spent a lot of money and I wasn’t feeling any better. Thank you so much Alfons. I love how natural and funny you are. I feel as though I’ve invited a dear and helpful friend into my home. That’s you Alfons!😉 I’ve decided to do at least one of your fabulous classes every day. I am72 year old woman from Australia. I do still teach yoga and Chi Gung. I’ve always been fascinated and interested in Feldenkreis.he was a genius for sure. I do try to incorporate Feldenkreis principles in my class. Needless to say the people I teach are older and need so much guidance. Please keep on doing what you do. Know how deeply you are appreciated. Many blessings to you from Mellaine from Australia.🙏😘

Hi Alfons, I injured myself last week with resulting sciatic pain radiating down my leg into my knee. I began practicing this lesson on sciatica. I experienced immediate pain relief and ease particularly with the flossing movements. I am happy to be waking up the neurons in my legs and brain. ITank you for being such a wonderful, lighthearted teacher. Your wisdom is unsurpassed. .

Oh my goodness❤️💞 what a wonderful relief!!!! Both of my Achilles tendons are ruptured and I can barely stand for 30 minutes at a time without intense pain,,,and my beloved hiking is a thing of the past. Your session has given me more relief than anything I have ever done for them. The pain and stiffness in my arches and heels is gone and it feels so relaxed to stand and walk around. This series of movements will become my daily routine, although I did have to modify it a bit for my bad knees and took it a bit slower than your presentation. Thank you so much, if this continues, you have changed my life and improved my mobility significantly. I can't wait to see how this will feel in a week💕

Amazing lesson, Alfons. Thank you so much. I had so much pain in the lower back and down the right leg and foot from sciatica, so as you suggested in an earlier lesson, I just visualized this lesson. I love the part about imagining that the spine is like a broom stick and it worked like magic. I was asleep like a baby in a few seconds.

So happy you took the time to show us so many alternative movements. It helped with my SI joint, and especially Achilles heel tightness that was persistent. Just my hip flexors started to cramp with the side bending, so I held back on the depth of the turn, which helped. Appreciate your personable and informative expression. The flossing explanation of how a nerve cannot be pinched and moving simultaneously is such a good observation for me. Thank you for your generosity.

Fantastic! Recently did L5S1 disc bulge.. The last immobilizing symptom was my nerve through Calf and Achilles building up to intense pain when walking... It was taking a very long time to calm down even a little bit... After doing your exercises it has immediately reduced Achilles and calf pain, instead of walking for 2mins and needing to lay down I have been on my feet for 10+ minutes and it's only just starting to get sightly tight now. This part of the sciatica pain was stopping me from being able to include walking in my recovery! Thank you so much! You have made me so happy mate

This exploration has really "softened" my feet. There is a lot going on when you alternately flex and extend left and right feet--and the alternate sides of the sacrum act quite differently, so that it adds a new dimension to hip movement while walking--like the pelvis shifts forwards and backwards on left and right strides. I get what you mean about standing explorations. Being on all fours, your patella is a sesamoid bone that "floats," so that your legs swing frictionlessly. Going to keep exploring this very powerful exercise--thanks for all your good energy. We have a friend in Austria. Best, Kevin

I feel a posterior flex in hips when bringing the toes to standing, btw, butmostly been very impressed with the relief of my SI pain which has ben chronic and crippling for some 20 Months now following a motorcycle accident. It's not an immediate relief so much as a next day relief which lasts a couple of days before I need to repeat the lesson. It has really helped, and i have also enjoyed a couple of other lessons. Hello Alfons, this lesson is fabulous... :) And... I breathe when I raise my heels, and I exhale when I lower them, and in the same way, I tend to straighten my back when raising my heels and curl it like a turtle when I lower them ... Thanks for your videos, they are very interesting and very nice and fun.

Hi Alfons. I have had sciatic pain for over a year. I tried this exercise a few weeks ago and it helped a little. Today I did it again and the result is amazing. No more pain in the SI joint and I can walk freely without pain. Thank you so much. I note when you are doing the exercise on all fours you always have your back straight. It's easy to lose that when you are a long time on all fours. Is it important to keep the back straight and the head in line instead of dropping down a little?

Hi Alfons - loved this lesson and all your videos. thank you so much. I can feel my hips and head moving from side to side much easier. I find i breathe in and arch my belly towards the floor when i move my toes to standing. Look forward to next lesson and hope you can do a similar 'flossing' one for the shoulder s some time.

I know this video is 8 years old, but my second time watching and doing. Your question #1. breathing in when toes to standing, breathing out when toes flat. Question #2 Spine elongates when toes standing and shorten when toes flat. I appreciate your videos and the pain relief for sciatic nerve pain. It's never lasted this long , nearly 10 days now..
