Hardee’s Biscuit Recipe? My husband certainly thought so. 🤣

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I stumbled across this Hardee's Biscuit recipe in an old cookbook and gave it a try. My family and I loved these biscuits!
Is it the secret recipe? I have no idea, but my husband says they taste just like a Hardee's biscuit. The rest of us thought that they certainly were close enough.
And they were delicious!
Making biscuits and bread is my favorite thing to do in the kitchen.
Well this week we have our grandson Carson with us. We haven't seen as much of him this summer and we have missed him. He is growing like crazy and he has already asked, "Can we make a video?"🤣, so he will be popping in to say Hello to all of you.
I already slathered his Irish skin in sunscreen from head to toe, and have the neighbor kids swarming the house this morning. 😂
I just finished handing out pop cycles. Next go around will be cantaloupe. ❤️❤️❤️ I don't mind at all. I love children. They are making memories y'all, learning social skills, playing outdoors and using their God given imaginations. It does my heart good to see this.
Although I do have to keep an eye on them. Speaking of which I may need to check in them.
Y'all stay hydrated and don't forget the sunscreen if you are out in the sun today. They are predicting a hot week in TN this week. ❤️ Deb
Original Recipe Ingredients:
Hardee's Biscuits
2 C self rising flour
1 stick butter
1 1/3 C buttermilk
pinch of salt
pinch of baking powder
(I did not go exactly with these measurements and I have no idea if this is the original recipe. My guess is it is a copycat)
Please see video for full instructions...Thanks for all the likes, shares and comments. ❤️to all!

Thank you for sharing. Hardee’s was my 1st job other than babysitting. I feel in love with their biscuits then and still to this day.❤

My wife passed away 5 years ago . She made to best biscuits possible and I had to learn making them myself if i wanted good bread . I have been making them about 1 -1/2 years and they turn out good every time . Mine are close to what you do . I come to find out the recipe don't have to be exact , close and they still come out great . God Bless you and your bread

I find a lot of recipes don’t have to be exact and turn out better sometimes. Your wife would be proud of you. And I am so sorry for your loss.

I was a Breakfast Manager and my first job at Hardees was Biscuit cook the only difference in your recipe and Hardees is instead of butter we used lard. Add flower and lard mix by HAND (hard) until lard is in small chunks add butter milk mix by HAND (yes it was all done by hand) spread flower, flatten dough and you fold in from each side fold top down fold bottom up flip dough over pat REPEAT FOLD STEPS and roll with pin and cut for the Cinnamon Biscuits only do folding process 1 time (not repeat) and YOU did those steps and do not try to short cut it doesn't work (lol), trust me I tried I was a biscuit cook there for over 5 years.

Thank you so much! I have an aunt who made them as well. I am going to ask her how she did this as well when I see her. I wonder if she did this like you. These tasted so much like them. Did they put them on a baking sheet separately or side by side? Curious as I had a viewer tell me they were not side by side. Thanks again!

I been making this recipe for yrs. I have tried it with buttermilk my family didn’t like it. Reg, 1%, 2% & heavy whip but the best for my family was the half & half. We don’t eat Hardee’s food. So I will take that as a compliment. 😊😊 I didn’t know it was still around. So much for what I know😂😂 Now I’m heading to the kitchen for mines that I made the other day.

My son's friends were always at our house in the summers. I worked from home, and we had a pool, so they liked to hang out with us. We would do grilled cheese sandwiches, Kool-aid lemonade and freeze pops! Sometimes I would make "Red Neck Pizza" - Buttery crackers with a bit of pizza sauce, a slice of turkey pepperoni and some mozzarella cheese. I would heat them in the microwave for 30-40 seconds until the cheese melted. Those boys could eat their weight of them! I sure miss those days. ❤

I live in San Diego. Moved here from Athens Tennessee going on five years ago. I brought my East cost cooking skills with me and my friends here love it! From my BBQ’s to the my biscuits haha. I use a 1/2 teaspoon of crème of tarter. If you want fluffy, that’s the ticket 😁 But really, everyone likes how they like it and you can’t please all the people all the time ♥️😁

Why do you use salt and baking powder with self rising flour?

  • @homecookingisforthebyrds8093

    @homecookingisforthebyrds8093

    2 ай бұрын

Because the rising agent in self rising flour looses its strength over time. I think it is about a 6 month shelf life, but don’t take that as the gospel. It does loose its strength though. Thats why you should also make sure your baking soda is fresh as well. I hope that helps. I almost always add baking soda to my flour.
