I had to come back here to leave a big THANK you. I'd been trying to make fluffy buttermilk biscuits for a long time without success. My biscuits never turned out the way I envisioned. I tried every single recipe and followed all the tips I came across to no avail. That was until I suddenly stumbled upon your video. It looked like you were doing everything I had tried to do, but I was surprised at how simple you made it sound, so I decided to try. I love your calming voice, by the way. Well, I don't know what your magic power is, but I'm so happy to say that for the first time in my life I was able to produce amazing biscuits!!! I have made them multiple times using different brands of flour and buttermilk. My husband doesn't seem to get enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Oh Catherine I’m watching this video… I love to cook and I bake but I cannot do biscuits. My mom made any kind of biscuits and my older sister does like her. Me .. oh my word ( bricks) every time,😂 Tried so many ways I just can’t do… dang it. Ok … I finished watching video and they looked just like my mama’s did. Oh and she always took the leftovers and mad them into different shapes for my lil sister and I 😂 and dared my six brothers to touch them. They where jealous 😂 she passed fifty years ago,miss her dearly.

My homemade biscuits are not fluffy, but I never used cold butter, I am going to try cold butter this morning and I will see how it turns out!😮😮

I have tried several recipes for buttermilk biscuits and yours is the best. Easy, straightforward and I like there is a little sugar in it to counter the saltiness. Even my mother loved it!

These biscuits look so fluffy and delicious Catherine! 😍 Many people are intimidated to make biscuits from scratch, not realizing how a few tips will make it so easy! 😘 The colder the butter, the better the biscuits! 😋 And biscuits are so versatile for breakfast! Great with butter and jelly or country gravy or even honey! I've not tried blackstrap molasses yet.

I nvr knew putg milk ontop of biscuits. We always used butter.I learned how 2 make buttermilk.

I could watch you cook for hours!! You make recipes worth trying 😋 so easy and delicious and since we were planning on having biscuits and gravy tomorrow morning, this came at a perfect time. Thanks 😊👍👍🤤

Yes. I’ve done this before. I premix the dry buttermilk and water for biscuits, to reconstitute it well. However, I have put the dry butter milk in with the flour, then added the the measured water when you’d add buttermilk for bread making, because the dough sits longer. 😁

Catherine - thank you for this awesome biscuit recipe. FYI...your website recipe step 4 needs to be adjusted. The instructions to make buttermilk state add 1 TBLS of lemon juice to 1 cup line of buttermilk instead of milk. Have a blessed and beautiful day 🥰

It was regular milk I used when I brushed the biscuits, I'm glad you like my channel but I'm not a quilter, I got my book stand from Amazon.

Why sugar? Not being rude but I've never had a sweet biscuit before. Will it work without sugar? It looks delicious. Totally different method than what I'm used to doing. May give this one a try.

The sugar just gives the biscuits a little extra flavor. It's not a sweet biscuit in any means, unless you're like my husband with lots of honey.

I got the bowl from HomeGoods.

Oh, no wonder my biscuits were turning out flat, I was twisting the glass.

Pat out your biscuits and cut in squares. That way there is NO extra dough left. I use a dough/pastry scraper to cut the biscuit dough. Having your biscuits touch in pan causes them to bake higher.
