Granny Karma, as a single dad, having raised 6 (now BIG, STRAPPING) boys-alone! I just had to steal your recipe and call it my own! When the boys come home on holiday's, they "sneak" the request of any "left-over" biscuits, could they get them "to take home"! I think they all know that there is no such "thing" as left-over biscuits! But, I have some "left-over"!🤭🤓 They're still trying to figure out the recipe-I'm not giving it up just yet! I had to 'fess up about confiscating it for my own. I tease them about "sneaking in" that secret ingredient called "love" into it. They don't know about that ingredient by "name" yet. They're still trying to figure out what it is! All I can do is smoker and chuckle and laugh about it!❤️😁 Wait until you hear about the 6 girls I, as well, raised alone. Their husbands are trying to muscle me for the recipe! Granny, you saved my bacon several times when it came to food issues, thank-you so much for being there at the time I was in a pinch. Doug🤓😁❤️👍🐻🧸

God Bless you and your family. If you would like to get some fast, easy and delicious recipes, I would like to send you some recipes. You have a perfect biscuit recipe. I would have to know about any food allergies that you or your wife might have and any food items that you may dislike. Let's say that you cook enough meat as well as vegetables and bread, of course, for 2 meals. 1 for that day and another for the freezer. Divide everything up and If you have a food saver or a seal a meal you could make seams to keep your food from being all mixed together. Or just use the bags to separate your vegetables and meat, for example. They also have rolls of the type that if you wanted to get a meal together quickly, all you would need is a Dutch oven or a big pot for boiling water. Choose what you want put portions of each dish, such as a vegetable in your pot of boiling water to heat it up, likely split you can put portions of what you want, meats and vegetables all in the same pot. I wouldn't put my bread in for the entire time.

Grandma would get up b4 day and get the breakfast biscuits done b4 he went out in the morning to feed the cows. When he finished eating, she would wash dishes and start on the pan of lunch biscuits. He would come and eat lunch, she would clean up, and start on the dinner biscuits! A real woman, I tell you...rip grandma

I've tried a 5 6 maybe 7 times in my life to make biscuits and they have never been good.. to my liking... my mom passed away april 30, and my children and I are now living in her house. She was an awesome cook, and even better biscuits maker, she would never let me use can or frozen biscuits if she was around.. I was making some can biscuits one day and she came into my kitchen and stopped me and asked what I was doing and I told her, she said make them homemade, and I told her that I couldn't, so she told me to move aside and she would make them, and I did and she cooked the whole breakfast, awwww memories and now I'm crying... anyhow, now living in her house I do not feel right about using can or frozen biscuits. So I am determined to learn to make them homemade. I have been researching for days now, trying to find the easiest way and least simple ingredients to make them as I am a beginner of course. I finally came over to KZread just now and searched it and yours was the first video to pop up, I watched the whole thing and you have made me confident that I can and am going to do this. Hope they good, fingers crossed!! Thanks for the video. I am now going to subscribe for more video. Thanks!!!

If you want soft and fluffy biscuits please use a soft flour like White Lilly or King Arthur. I promise it will give you a more tender and fluffy biscuit. It's grown predominately in the south, that's why the south has the best biscuits. Most of us know the flour is the biscuits.,.. Edit: you only want to knead it enough to make a soft blob. As long as it's firm enough to spread the dough, mine is still just part the tacky stage. I learned this from a lady whose biscuits sold out every single day six days a week and she would cook over 600 biscuits a day

You are so sweet and calming! In case you don't have self rising flour just mix: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 - ½ teaspoon salt 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder So for every one cup of all purpose flour used add these measurements of salt and baking powder to make your own self rising flour.

I will heal your heart. You will be a healer of souls and a restorer of hearts as I bring you higher in my ways. Give yourself to me, forgive all who wound you, and I will work on your behalf. Let your name be synonymous with mercy and grace. Wrap yourself in my likeness. Pour out forgiveness, the way I have done for you. I know what pain is like. I understand what it’s like to be rejected and misunderstood. But it’s this pain that breaks you open, so that you can receive the healing balm of my love. As my glory pours into your wounded soul, it expands, saturating every cell and memory. Soon, anger melts away and is replaced with compassion. Even your greatest pain can be healed when you embrace mercy for others. You will witness my victory within when you release freedom to those who have hurt you. There was a price to pay. Daddy was a master machinist for the railroad, always had a garage to work on automobiles and he ran a wrecker service. Every week we had "Saturday Morning Breakfast " We had made to order eggs, biscuits, grits, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage and tenderloin. MoMA made her gravy from bacon grease. She made this EVERY SATURDAY. I miss my parents every day.💔

Granny Karma, just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for blessing us with this beautiful recipe. I followed it to a T all beside for hand rollin mine, I’m sure it’s been noted before, but if it’s been awhile, for folks that hand roll them you’re gonna want to run them in the oven for 22-25 mins. This recipe gave me 9 pretty big biscuits that are absolutely delightful. Usually I make em with cold butter, not anymore. Oh and I made my own self rising flour, (1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt per cup of flour.) so for folks like me that didn’t have any self rising flour around, this was very easy to mix, this recipe used 2 cups of AP flour, 3tsp baking powder and 1/2tsp salt… you will NOT be disappointed, bless your sweet soul Granny, much love and happy new year from this middle aged bachelor

This is the first thing Mom taught me to make. She called them angel biscuits. She had a family of 7 to feed & not much money. To make sure we all got the same amount she would roll the dough into a rectangle & cut it into square biscuits. They taste exactly like round ones. LoL She did just like you & put them close together so they would rise up not out while they cooked. You're right! The house smelled so good. To this day (I'm 68) I make them the same. Thank you for a great memory 💞

My mom was raised thru the Depression in a family with, everyone reading this sit down, 14 kids, granma had lost 2 as infants. Mom told me all about the gov't giving them cheese and a kins od butter that had a capsule of yellow on top. They broke that over the butter and mixed it in, made it into a loaf again then put it in the root cellar. She also told me of Angel Biscuits. Her mom's angel biscuits were made with Ammonium Carbonate. She said the whole place smelled of ammonia which was why granma only made them in the spring & summer when she could open windows. The biscuits were so soft inside, but there was 1 rule to eating them. The gov't "butter" never got put on them, only butter from her churn. I guess granma was proud of her biscuits and didn't want lard on them!

Thank you for sharing your memory with us. I really loved Granny's sweet, and welcoming spirit. My sweet grandma left this world to go be with JESUS in 1988. She was Italian, I remember being at her house when I was a child. She would put some flour on the table, shape it like a mountain then make a valley on top of it and put some eggs into it and knead it into a ball. Then she would roll it, and roll it with her rolling pin until it formed into an extremely thin sheet. Finally she'd cut those sheets into long skinny strips and hang those strips onto pre-strung strings until they dried out. When they dried out she'd boil them, strain them and mix them into her Heavenly scented spaghetti sauce that was already simmering on the stove...Emm...Yum yum was the pasta dish that my grandma took all day to make. I'll promise you right now there aint no spaghetti sauce, on any shelf, of any store in the whole world, that hold a candle next to my grandma's spaghetti. Talk about good smelling kitchen...Emh...they should be able to put that scent into a can of air freshener.

My mother is 92 years old and no longer cooks. After my father passed away, her health began to fail and we didn't want her to live alone. She's in a nursing facility close to all 6 of her children. My Momma could throw down cooking back in the day. My favorites were her homemade cheese biscuits for breakfast, home grown butter beans, fried chicken and homemade biscuits for dinner and her homemade dinner rolls on Sunday. All of her meals were delicious but the ones that I mentioned were my favorite. I have tried to make homemade biscuits but they all failed. Tomorrow morning, I am going to try this recipe. If I fail, I will keep trying until I get it right. When this covid 19 virus is over, I can't wait to bring her to my house and prepare breakfast for her with these homemade biscuits. She says, I make the best cheese & eggs but I think here's are the best. We are blessed to still have our mother with us and me, at 61, I still miss her cooking. Everyone in our small hometown says, she could really cook. Thank you so much for this easy recipe and your biscuits looks scrumptious. God bless and stay safe.

Hi Granny Karma. I have tried your biscuit recipe twice now. Keep in mind, in the past, my biscuits were horrible. My first try at your recipe, my biscuits were good. I was so proud of myself. I made my 2nd batch this morning for breakfast and added cheese to them. They were delicious. I never thought I would be able to make homemade biscuits. I will continue to make them. THANK YOU so much for your easy, 2 ingredient biscuit recipe. I am smiling with pure joy. Be blessed & safe.

She's been gone 10 years and I miss her deep in my soul. I am a white Italian American. Born and raised in Arizona in a racially diverse neighborhood where we were all poor but didn't realize it. Although we knew we were different in respect to being White, Mexican, Black, Indian, and Native American. We loved our differences, embraced them really. The only time culture difference came into play was when we were deciding who's house we were eating at that day. We were truly blessed, even more than I knew to appreciate at the time. I love your wise words and your smart ass reply to the the person who deserved much more than you gave. Keep teaching and reaching us. Much love and deep respect ♥️

I grew up in the military and married a military man. We all went to school together, played on the same playground together and life was good. I will add that there were no "special" rights for anyone, we all played by the same rules and suffered the same punishments when we were in the wrong. That's Why We Got Along. Today there are special rules for everyone and it only causes strife. Sure do miss those good old days when we all just got along...

Just as good the second time around. Thanks for the cooking lesson, Granny K! Sausage/Gravy biscuits. Biscuits and molasses. Bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits. Biscuits with fresh strawberry or peach jam. Is anybody else hungry right this minute???? My grandmother made biscuits practically every day of her married life (she was a farm wife, and early in their farm life, she would even feed farm hands), and her family would not know how to begin their day without those biscuits. She joked that on her headstone she wanted the inscription "Done Cookin'"... :-)

Yes. I got it in my head to make biscuits for sandwiches instead of running to the store when I’m low on bread. Huge bag of flour = price wise to cheap loaf of bread. Great for eggs, cream meals, best with sausage, or tuna, hamburger using mushroom sauce or you can make a cream sauce.

Me, too! Only we are having some biscuits & gravy today. I've got me some ground pork breakfast sausage to fry into large crumbles... golden brown & delicious. A minced yellow onion adds to the goodness. It goes in with the sausage once the crumbles form, & cooks until soft. I drain most of the lard, minus a tablespoon or two. Mix in a half a cup of all purpose flour & cook it until it starts to brown. Then I add milk as it bubbles & thickens. Add enough milk for the consistency of gravy that you like. A little salt, some fresh ground pepper... Boy HOWDY is it good! Wouldn't that be a blessing on these beautiful biscuits? YUM!

Add some peppery sausage gravy to those biscuits and big cup of coffee. It almost like a slice of heaven. You spirit and story if you family made me feel like I was in the kitchen with you. It took me back to when my grandmother was alive many many moons ago but I remember her telling me stories when she was little while making biscuits for everyone breakfast at her house was always the biggest meal of the day it was like dinner and breakfast at the same time. Then the rest of the meal were from the leftovers meat went to the soup pot breads and biscuits was for sandwiches at lunch time and dinner was left over soup and the rest of the bread or biscuits to such up the last remain drop of her remarkable soup. Most broth she cooked the vegetables at meal time separately then the soup meat broth to the bowl and added so the left over vegetables. Nothing was every wasted it was always to recycled into so other great food. Miss her cooking still after fifty years but remember it like it was yesterday. Your reminded me of her same happy spirit about everything she did. First time I watch you and i am sure it won't be my last.
