Hand Cranked Grinder Restoration [Light Grey Bench Grinder]
Ғылым және технология
This restoration is a hand cranked grinder. The condition of the old grinder is not the worst, but the antique machine is partially rusted, shafts are crooked, paint damage and more I have to eliminate in this project. Many simple techniques are used in the restoration, such as: Sandblasting, working on the lathe, working on the lathe, using a press brake, using rust remover, painting with spray cans, filling the objects, welding, polishing and some more.
The video is a little longer this time, but that's because I don't want to leave out any step or detail. It is not about speed and efficiency in my videos, I'm all about calm and patience to complete the tasks precisely and accurately. It can happen that you invest several hours for a small thing. Therefore, please note that this video is not only to quickly show someone how something works, but it should also help to relax and escape from everyday life!
▬ What did I do ?! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
As with any overhaul, this old grinder has to start with disassembly, which is a lot of small parts and a few large major components. I noticed that one of the shafts was bent and I had to rebuild it during the course of the project. I also had to remake the sleeve for the wooden handle, the shaft for the wooden handle and the wooden holder for the grinding wheel. After I filled and sanded the parts, they were primed, sanded with wet sandpaper, and then painted. I treated the insides of the covers with heat resistant paint so that sparks would not destroy the paint there later. I painted the hand crank sander in light gray, the old remains on the antique machine told me that it must have had this color originally. Turtle helped me a lot with this project again, did you actually notice anything about Turtle?
▬ Good to know ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
I used the following tools: Screwdriver, tweezers, pliers, wrench, pin punch, hammer, water, soap, wire brush, lathe, brush, paint stripper, scriber, ruler, angle grinder, deburrer, cordless screwdriver, drill, sandblasting cabinet, tap, tape, file, sandpaper, welding machine, welding helmet, putty, primer, scalpel, spray paint, heat-resistant paint, sheet metal, chisel, saw, folding bench, rust remover, polishing stand, polishing paste, linseed oil varnish, chisel, lathe, grease

Yo, this is good video. Crazy how the turtle face is just goofing, also when he was taping inside a hole
This restoration was really nice. It helps that it wasn't in too bad a condition to start, but you really brought it back to brand new!
The face on the turtle is priceless.
Nice, informative captions.
a tartaruga é uma das melhores partes
Yall are talking about how you fall asleep to these, while here i'm not allowed to touch any device when I want to sleep ;-;

Then how are you commenting on videos if you’re not allowed to touch the technology all around you?
For plugging the screw holes and others, try just shoving a cotton ball into it. It forms to the shape and is easy to remove with needle nose pliers. 👍🏼
Wow wow wow, toller Job! Sehr professionell und deine kleine rote Schildkröte auf dem Stickerpapier gefällt mir auch sehr gut! Ciao🐢👋🏼

I appreciate the filter over the welding sections. My Mechanics is excellent, but they require practicing your safety squint on the welding.
I am just in awe of the skills you possess
Hammer.

Hi, very good restoration, just to let you know this was a wet grinder, the base should have water in it, there should be a drain hole with which to drain the dirty water. regards

Sir, I believe the grinding wheel runs in water for cooling, and as the wheel spins it runs through the water in the reservoir. great work. Have a blessed day.

I think the water serves as like a thing for more friction, kinda like a whetstone. I dunno though.

You can save yourself a lot of time and effort by using foam disposable shooters ear plugs to block holes when painting it saves time from taping all those holes. They are very cheap or free at trade shows. You can squish them down for small holes or use 2-3 for largest holes.

Try doing this. Put your thumb of one hand on the end of the screw driver while with the other hand turns the handle. You might not be able to do this because you might be holding a camera. I additionally have a solution for that. There's a device that holds cameras that's able to be worn by the user. It's worn by around a person's chest sk that he or she is able to use both of their hands.
Question. Why did you paint strip instead of going right to sandblasting?
Very impressive and a lot more patient than me. Keep the videos coming.
