1850's Chuck Wagon Coffee Grinder Restoration

Ойын-сауық

In this antique restoration video, I am restoring an 1850's chuckwagon coffee grinder. This belongs to a family friend of ours and will be installed on a chuckwagon they will have at their home.
This was a challenging restoration, and I encountered many firsts.
Welding very thin sheet metal.
Japanning - (If you'd like a video on this process, leave a comment below)
Budget Hydroforming - (Same with this one) I had fun doing this
Overall I am extremely pleased with the result. If you have any questions leave a comment below!
Time spent - 6 weeks
Money invested - $150 in materials

That custom finish mix you applied looks very authentic for the time. So many of the restorations I see on KZread use finishes (e.g., powder coating) that give an especially fine appearance, though they look much more refined than would have been the case back in the day.
