In that case why risk losing it all and press your luck any further. The first 1970s trivia captain was smart enough to not do this. Partly why he's also one of the best captains the show has had.

  • @hiltonlive32grnrngr

    @hiltonlive32grnrngr

    Жыл бұрын

    Well there was a safety net on Super Greed, where if your team successfully answered a $1 million question (what would be $500K on regular Greed) and your captain advanced to $2 million, your team was guaranteed $200,000 regardless of the outcome of the rest of the game. But I'm sure the producers put that in place to encourage more teams to go past the sixth question which prior to Super Greed, Dan Avila's team was the only team do such. But the lack of the safety net was what created the tense edge-of-your-seat atmosphere, part of which made the show so appealing.

    The whole idea is that the captain of the team is responsible for making sure the team is victorious and wins as much money as they can. I wonder how many teams have left the show angry or any threats were made after the loss of the game especially when a great deal of money was lost, but then I've seen the captain agree to split the money when the captain chooses to quit the game and the team members don't agree with the captains decision.

    The problem I have with this game is the captain runs the team and cannot consult with the team on an answer, so if the captain is not sure of the right answer or changes the right answer to a wrong answer it's the entire team that goes down. I feel the team captain should be able to consult the team if they are not sure. And it isn't fair that the entire team goes down based on the captain not knowing the correct answer when the team can be saved by helping the captain. For that reason I feel the game is unfair. Other than that Chuck Woolery is a great host would love to see him host again even after Lingo.

    I think it was a cut, removing either something unnecessary or editing out a question Chuck might've asked that neither Dan or Samara knew the answer to so he asked a new one. If Chuck asked a question and neither contestant buzzed in to answer the question then another question would be asked and actually this has happened throughout the show but it would be edited out for simplicity's sake and in the interest of not wasting time. For an example of this, watch the TV Greed episode. That episode's only Terminator match is when Melanie challenged Marra. You can tell another question had been asked beforehand due to the drastic change in music.

    Not to spoil it for people who haven't seen the June 9 episode before, but Randy's team advanced to the $500,000 question and lost, when he already used the Freebie on the $200,000. @therussianspy5882 Жыл бұрын

    (Another comment by me, yay) but I must say that that's pretty faulty logic from Andy at 6:15. First, if I have a backpack with me, keys are the first thing I would put into the backpack (instead of my pocket) as keys (unlike a wallet or cell phone) are uncomfortable at best in my front pocket, and will jab you if in a back pocket when you try to sit down or bend over. Secondly, although math is certainly required in high school (I remember seeing this episode when it first aired and I was in high school at the time), I don't recall calculators being used in post secondary. Here in Canada we did use calculators in high school math, mostly for graphing capabilities (with a Texas Instruments TI-83 calculator), but when I was an undergraduate in university, calculators were not used (and largely banned entirely), at least for the core calculus and statistics classes. Finally, whenever I have a backpack with me, regardless of whether it was back when I was a teenager or today as a 30-something, I will have as little as possible in my pockets, as as much as I can in the backpack. Granted the question did say "teenager's backpack," so it's ambiguous if we're talking about high school or college students here. I also don't recall girls in high school carrying purses with them (or at least if they did, the purse was within their backpack...). Conversely, I think that almost all teenagers would have at least a house key, if not car keys, while I can't see math being required for all college students (especially for a journalism major such as Andy, ha).

    Nope i strongly disagree. If there was a scientific study that was actually acurate rather then whatever greed actually used i suspect calculator has a high likely hood of being correct (and he's not a math major) I also want to clarify that when watching the question and rewatching after reading your comment, I still think they really mean high school students. Meaning teenagers are really 13-19 for scope determinations. At 13 your either in 8th or 9th grade. So since 9th grade is high school thats what ill use as a starting frame EVERYONE in high school took algebra (1,2, geometry and pre calc) each of those classes you absolutely used a graphing calculator. Even in middle school you used a calculator its why they still have scientific calculators Most graduate by 17-18. Yes college is 18+ but since its teens why are we measuring scope as just freshman and sophmores who decided to go to college? If we include all college students then absolutely keys is the right answer, because other then taking a college math class (usually one is required in college actually) only a math major or someone taking a math class will have it in there book bag. And some will have keys for whatever reason they have them in there bag. Again 100% in high school take math, so almost 100% will have it in there book bag. While at best 50% will have keys in there book bag in high school. So I would like to see greeds source materials on this because this was not based on a scientic study And why cut of at exactly 19 years old if including college students Copy and paste of my prior answer i liked that college captain from wisconsin. He bailed them out twice, and I COMPLETLY agreed with his answer and had the exact same logic. Everyone takes math class, in high school you ALWAYS get a graphing calculator. Where do you keep it? Well to be fair Andy insulting Chuck was kind of karmatic payback for Chuck mocking Samara about her speaking too fast. Least I saw it that way lol

    i thought the same thing because he threw in a laugh at chucks expense in the prior episode for wheel of fortune For those who haven't seen it, he basically called chuck Old in a smart a** way

    Steve was a good captain, but just zero personality. The captain needs to keep me attached, and he was dull as hell. Good crew though.

    i think he was one of the best captians, extremly knowledgable. There was another captian that was similar personality but he didnt like the half a million dollar cateogry and said hes quitting and he was a no nonsense person. And he had a freebie left. Robby probably knows who im refering to.

    Steve seemed to be all business (despite actually being a fan of the show when he got on) and I like that. Besides if you were playing the game with him as your captain I doubt you'd be complaining about that if he won your team $500k.

    On game 🏟️ 83, Guy Stevenson & Mo Feldman go 🚦 home 🏡 with $10,000, but Amy Lolly, Mike Randallman & the captain 👨‍✈️ Randy Osivato go 🚦 home 🏡 with nothing 😞.
