I had the same reaction as Robert @ 20:40 when Strawberries was revealed wrong on the Baskin Robbins question when I first saw this episode on GSN in 2006.

I can't believe strawberry is less of a popular topping than pineapple (especially the latter being tropical which is less common in America) when you think some of the basic flavors in ice cream are vanilla, chocolate and strawberry...you would think people would choose strawberry to fill that gap when they buy another flavored ice cream hehe.

Sometimes on Greed, some of the most unexpected answers can be the Right Answers. When I saw Pineapple as an answer on the $500K Baskin-Robbins Question, I knew that had to have been more popular than Strawberries. Now that I think about it, when people ask for Sorbets or Smoothies, Pineapple is one of the most popular ingredients to use, especially when it comes to Tropical Flavors.

37:58 as well 😁... it looked as if Robert, if he had rung in first, would have said "dog" as well, and was surprised to hear that that answer was wrong. At first blush, I almost certianly would have said dog as well, seeing how they're seemingly the most popular pet. But when you think about number owned, you're way more likely to have a dog owner who owns one (or at most), two dogs, and a cat owner who could own many cats, giving cats the edge in numbers.

My favorite part of Greed is when Chuck temps the contestants with cash before the last answer of the four choices. With his demeanor, it's very tempting to walk away.

I remember this was the very first episode that I watched when I was 11 years old. Troy kind of looks like Wayne Gretzky.

20:39 - WHAT! WHAT! WHAT! I thought it was Strawberries was most popular for sure! I can't believe that it was Pineapple over Strawberries. Awww that was shocking and disappointing that Strawberries was a wrong answer. I thought Strawberries was more popular than Pineapple. He should've changed from Strawberries to Pineapple but he didn't do it. The previous team was so close to getting that half a million dollars. Aww that was too bad they took the gamble on Strawberries and sadly lost a half a million dollars to Pineapple. Disappointing loss for Robert, Charmine and Melissa on the $500K. Oh gee! Oh I thought Strawberries for sure it was right. I thought it would be right! It is pineapple. it's Pineapple over Strawberries. Oh and I must tell you I thought that you had it. I thought Strawberries would be more popular than Pineapple and I thought it'd be changes anything he'll change it from Strawberries to Pineapple but he didn’t do it. Oh I'm so sorry.

It's no wonder they didn't take the $50,000 on the strawberries answer. I know it's $16,500 per person, but, if there were ever an answer I was sure about it'd be strawberries! It wouldn't surprise me at all if Greed's research team found out later that they made a mistake. For God's sake strawberry is a popular flavor of ice cream by itself.

Let's face it, there's millions of websites on the Internet. And I'm sure the website linking to that survey is somewhere out there.

If you listen carefully from 20:46 to 20:47, you can hear Robert saying, "Oh man".

The 2nd and final $500,000 languages was super extremely hard but I’m glad the guys won the $500,000 my answers to that one were 1. English 2. Spanish 3. Chinese 4. French I have to be honest and I admit it I never would’ve guessed Hindi I never considered that language being spoken by more people in the world but I’m glad Robert picked it and got it right congrats guys awesome job

Those were my answers initially before the Freebee took away French. When it took away French, I felt confident with Hindi since it is the primary language of India, one of the most populated countries in the world. This is one of the only times where the Freebee was actually extremely helpful.

The languages question IMO was one of the easier 4 out of 7 questions on the show (and certainly easier than Baskin Robbins ice cream toppings question). English/Spanish/Chinese are the obvious three, so it comes down to Hindi (most widely spoken language in the world's second most populated country at the time of this airing), French (only widely spoken in France, Canada, and select former colonies such as Haiti or Congo - none of which are anywhere near the most populated countries on the planet) Russian (Russia and former Soviet Union) or Bahasa (spoken in Indonesia, although I would guess that this trio, besides maybe Robert, didn't know that). If they wanted to make this question more difficult, they could have substituted Arabic for Bahasa as a wrong answer. Unlike a survey type question (all too common on Greed for the higher level questions), this languages question was fairly clear cut and unambiguous. Interestingly Chuck, in posing the question, made no distinction between number of native speakers of the language and number of people who could speak the language. This would alter the order of the top four (native would be Chinese, Spanish, English, Hindi versus English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish for total speakers) but probably not the top 4 answers, so perhaps a moot point, along with the use of "Chinese" instead of "Mandarin Chinese" or "Mandarin."

Apparently, Troy Glenn died in 2014 at just 44. Tragic.

For the $200,000 question, everybody is playing for $40,000 except for Melissa who will be playing for $80,000 because she won the terminator.

That was bullshit that it was revealed as Pineapple to be more popular over Strawberries.

On the $500,000 question about the languages spoken by more people in the world, I knew that English, Spanish, and Chinese were correct right off the bat. I'm glad the Freebee took away the French answer because that was the other answer I was thinking of initially. When the Freebee took it away, the other answer I was thinking of was Hindi. I figured that Russian was wrong. And I knew for certain that Bahasa was wrong. I never even heard of that language before.

I don't know where the producers got that information, but if that was me on the show, I would've immediately went through every source on the Internet to look for that survey.
