Scrabble 1988 | Jennifer vs Greg
Time to make a return to that crossword game.
As opposed to the other two shows I posted, which used the "Champion defends themselves at the Scrabble Sprint until they win 20 times" format, this uses the more familiar "Bonus Sprint" format that started being standard by late '85-early '86 and stayed 'til the rest of the run (and the later 1993 revival).
This is the last episode of Scrabble I have from my personal VHS collection, so please don't ask me if I have more episodes. Go nag Buzzr to get the rights of this show instead or something.
Taken off a USA rerun from sometime in late 1994-1995. (This was the first show in the block as they were starting to wind down the game shows from the schedule, I don't know the exact date.)

@"Secret Area Vault", yes, in year 1988, this "Scrabble" game show had Mr. Charles "Chuck" H. Woolery as its former host just as his previous studio announcer there was late Mr. Arthur W. Ferguson [though professionally known as "Charlie Tuna"]!

This aired pre May 13, 1988, because by that point in 1988, CHuck went to the contestant podium at the end of each crossword game. The 5/13/1988 is known to have aired on USA between 6/27-7/29/1994, because the end of show promo said the short-lived Quicksilver and Free 4 All hour were "coming up next", and they aired from 5-6PM EST right after Scrabble between those dates.

The thing preventing this show coming back on TV is buying the rights to use the Scrabble name form Hasbro.

I agree that both GSN and Buzzer needs to get this show on their channels that is, if the people at both NBC and Fremantle Media would stop being a bunch of greedy and selfish assholes.

The show will likely never be seen on TV again in either reruns or a modern revival because the show's rights are divided between different entities, along with the complex nature of trying to license Scrabble from Hasbro
You guys want to know how stupid I am? When I saw B_RD_A__, I TOLD MYSELF "i know this one" AND IMMEDIATELY SAID "BIRDBATH". When she said "BIRDCAGE" I instantly regretted it 🙄
The Bonus Sprint format debuted on 12/29/1986. For the 13 weeks before that, the All American Scrabble tournament used that format, minus the Bonus Sprint at the end of the show. The original format where winning the Sprint round 10 times retired a champion ended on 9/29/1986
