Get a FLAT BELLY in 2 Moves (No Sit-Ups or Gym) | Dr. Mandell
This exercise that I will present is the best exercise you can do for your abdominal region. The transverse abdominis muscle is what holds and supports the lower back and pelvic structures. These muscles must be strong to help support the surrounding organs and other core muscles.
These muscles support breathing by helping to pull the abdomen inward, and in that way force air out of the lungs to make room for a new breath of fresh air. These muscles also raise the intra-abdominal pressure which is necessary for functions like urination, defection (having a bowel movement), vomiting, and vaginal childbirth.

I've have had a belly since I was a toddler and I'm skinny. Now that I'm older I have a muffin top. When I saw this I thought yeah right! I will try anything though. I started noticing a difference really fast. About two weeks in I could see muscles in my stomach which I have never seen on me. My muffin top is gone and I have an hour glass waist line. I have had to take all my pants in at the waist about 2inches or more. Funny thing is I only watched this once I came back today to leave this comment and realized he says to do three sets. I've only been doing one. Thank you for this video you have really changed how I feel about myself.

1. Cut back on refined carbs 2. Strengthen your Transverse abdominal muscle: • Push in your belly button as far as you can inward toward your back - hold for 3 seconds • Then (while still holding belly button in) twist your core slowly to the left and then slowly to right (holding your belly button in the entire time) • Repeat 3 times (for 1 set). Work up to 2 to 3 sets.

@AlexandreLollini

@@muhammadalizukhrufvlogs1237 Absolutly not, blood glucose level need to be there. People who never eat any carbohydrate still MAKE the needed glucose level. The intake of sugar and processed flours, etc. does disrupt the brain function, create insulin resistance, and then it makes it impossible to loose weight if insulin level never drops low enough during a week. Julius Caesar invented 3 meals a day with bread in order to keep population under control, make them asleep, turn off their brain, and make them peaceful like a sheep herd. by switching off sugar and only eating 2 meals a day spaced by 5 hours enable to be sensitive to insulin and the brain turns on. also some random fasting days helps with energy and accelerate metabolism (helps to burn fast by exercise fasted)

@@stevethea5250 I have been doing the excercise for about 3 months now and I have abs now so I will tell you what I do in order to get abs. First of all, I don't cut out sugar or anything so I don't have a diet to restrict me but I usually turn on music with my headphones on and I do as many of those twist things over and over again and I usually do it until I feel like I can't do it anymore and I take a 30 second break and I drink water in between the twisting exercise but after the 30 seconds have gone by from my break I then get back into the exercise and I keep on repeating the process until I feel like I can't do it anymore. Your body will know when to stop so if you are pushing yourself too hard than you can stop it is ok to take breaks and make sure you listen to music while doing it because you will start to forget the burn of the exercise because you are too busy listening to music lol. That is what I usually do and I also lift 5 pound weights and do the same thing over and over. The last thing that I do on some days is I do "just dance" and I look up youtube videos reposting the dances and I usually get a good exercise from doing that (some of the dances are stupid but they work in the end to help you get exercise lol. So my outcome was that I got abs and I have muscles in my arms so that is what I do.

I swear you are the best doctor. I just felt muscles in my core that I have known are weak and actually cause me pain bc of their weakness. I have never felt any of those muscles work the way this simple set of moves just did. As someone who used to be in great shape and after a few bad accidents, a few bouts of bad depression and just some really crappy things in life, I pretty much gave up on health. Lost a bunch of weight (40lbs) in 2020/2021 and after a bad separation and moving away from family, got very depressed and gained all that weight back. My mom and I just joined one of those virtual challenges where you walk or run or ride a bike or whatever the same amount of miles as the "journey" you choose (we have started our 35 mile hike through Rome and then we're going to do "the outer wall" (I think that's what it's called) from GOT). I'm in the south and she's in Southern California so we can't physically walk together but we ca. walk at the same time on FaceTime around "Rome" together so we are doing that!! Thank you for your videos. They have helped me more in the last 2 years than the last 20 years of doctors I've seen in person.

Linda, if you have time to respond, how is this going for you?
Been bodybuilding for almost 20 years. Here's my takeaway from all these years: 1. Diet: Low carbs, High Protein, Good Fats, High Fiber, no Trans/Saturated Fats, Lots of water. 2. Workout: Resistance training burns the most fat, as it continues to burn fat long after training. 3. Get at least 1 hour of training a Day (I do 1hour, 20 minutes), at least 4 days a week (I do 4-5 Days). 4. At least 8 hours of sleep every night & allow your body to recover between training sessions. As far as 6-pack is concerned: Abs have 3 aspects to it: Size, Shape & Layer. *A. Size*: Size of the muscles...this is how big they show. Determined by sit-ups, Leg Raises, Ab Coaster or other exercises. *B. Shape*: Round/Washboard...this is the overall belly shape. Abdominal Distention aka bubble-gut caused by either posture (pushing out)/Gas/Fluid/Inflammation/intra-abdominal fat. Flatter/Straight/Washboard shape achieved by pulling in (like in this vid)/Losing Fat/Treating Gastro disease etc. *C. Layer*: This is how well the abs are defined. The amount of fat between the abs and skin. This is determined by diet. I.e. the low carbs. As far as Diet is concerned: 1. Determine your calorie requirements and stay below or on that to lose weight. (Use a tool like this: www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html) 2. Spread out your calories and eat every 2-2½ hours. (This will prevent insulin fluctuations and control your appetite as well as your body's natural fat storage process.) 3. Keep carbs at 1.5g/kg body weight to cut fat; 3g/kg to maintain or 3-5g/kg if you're building muscle. (This will limit intra-abdominal fat building up.) Avoid starches like Pasta, Rice, Potatoes etc. If you're cutting/aiming to drastically lose weight, just keep carbs below 50 grams/day. 4. Keep protein above 2g/kg bodyweight a day. (I do 2.5g/kg) (This will feed muscle growth.) Fish & Chicken FTW! 5. Get 30 to 60 grams of fiber a day. (Slows rate of carb absorption, prevents insulin spikes...basically keeps you full for longer.) Fruits & Veggies FTW! Have the bulk of your carb and protein within 30 minutes to 2 hours after workout. I have not seen a single person follow this and not have well defined 6-pack or 8-pack. (Well unless they're pregnant or having a gastro infection, but that requires an entirely different comment.)

@@kimberlymunyanyiwa8764 You're not going to lose belly fat by doing this - you'll tone the muscle. Your measurements may decrease as the muscle strengthens and pulls in, but belly fat will not reduce. You need to look at your diet and calorie expenditure to lose actual fat. 👍

Thank you again Doctor Mandel. I can definitely do this! At age soon to be 71 years I’m still on my journey to having a healthy body. It’s an everyday thing and I appreciate you and love God for being a part of my journey!
I was 244 pounds, I’m 180. I have a rare disease elhers danlos syndrome where my skin is stretchy. I’ve been doing the side twists that are showed in this video minus sucking in your belly. It has worked wonders. Thank you Dr! I come straight to KZread to see yours and Dr bergs videos. Thank you Sir your videos always come at the right times💙😊🤗

@Monster jam Izzy, so u did this WITHOUT holding ur stomach in & it still worked?? I thought tht with ALL ab exercises the abs must be held in so tht the muscles can tighten overtime. I find it hard to believe tht u ddnt engage ur abs, yet u saw results! 🤷
Great video good information. Thank you for confirmation of best practices and the exercise is excellent. Shalom!
Thankyou our wonderful Dr. for helping us stay fit and healthy!!
Thank you, Doc! We need more doctors like you. Your videos have definitely extended my life, and have made it more fun to live. I can never repay you for that, but you will always be in my prayers.

Hmm, I felt my pelvic floor activating when I tried to do this and I was convinced I was doing something wrong / not isolating the right muscles. Gotta love being able to hit multiple muscle groups in one move ❤ 😅

Did you have diastasis recti?
Thank you Doctor Mandell. I have been looking for those exercises that we can do in our homes . Thanks once again .
Wow..... I'm on a journey to better health, and I needed something new for my stomach ❤ Thank you 🙏
Over the last 4 months, you have been a great and informative part of my wellness journey. Thank you for all you do!!!❤
I was blessed with father who in the late 50s, early 60s wouldn't let us girls wear a girdle. He told us to hold in our abdominal muscles to make them strong. BTW, my dad worked out and was in amazing shape. To this day, at age 72, I still hold my stomach in and it's flat. So this exercise didn't burn it felt natural.

My mom used to always tell me to hold in my tummy to tighten those. Also, I do butt squeezes while in the car. Squeeze for like 15 seconds. Release for 5 seconds and repeat. I’m 57 and still fit. Most of my exercise is just these kinds of “exercises”

I do standing abs as I do not appreciate floor work. I am definitely adding this to my exercise routine, I felt a difference right away, first time!
Challenge accepted, Dr. Mandell, thank you for this video!!! ❤️🤗❤️
My deep gratitude to you, Dr. Mandell. You are the best! Thank you for all the wonderful information you share with the world.
Thank you so much for doing what No Dr has ever taken the time to do or say. .🌹♥️♥️♥️
40 years as a weight lifter and I never heard it put that way. Thanks!
Wow you are BRILLIANT, I have intuitively been doing abdominal isometrics, including the umbilical tuck and noticed my belly fat was reducing, adding this second move is amazing!! Such a small move and you can literally feel the back muscles strengthening and I can feel how those muscles are vital to supporting the spine!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and helping us all out!! You are the best!!

This exercise is very doable. I've had exercises on my radar as a goal to strengthen my traverse abdominis, such as plank position with equipment such as an ab roller or sliders, and those exercises are just beyond my capability at this point. The exercise Dr. Mandell demonstrates is within reach for me.
Thank you! I'm super injured and extremely deconditioned thanks to a work accident. It's difficult to exercise I've trained my whole life to lose it all in seconds. This is so important!
Thank you so much. you're amazing!!!!!!! Happy New Year to you and yours!
I honestly can say dr Mandel is sincere, very helpful, i trust what he says.
Why is no one talking about just how IMPRESSIVE Dr Mandell's abs and stomach are!? He modestly lifted up his shirt, to show us how to effectively do the move, and I was gawking!!! From my chair in my living room. haha. I was like, "OH MY GOD, I WANT TO LOOK LIKE THAT!!! Very impressive and well earned! Thank you so much Dr. Mandell, and I appreciate the motivation!!! I can't wait to incorporate this into my life.
Love you Doc...you make the most amazing and helpful videos. So look forward a new one which mostly comes at a time when I need it the most. Lots of blessings to you and your family.
The transverse abdominous is the muscle that is torn causing diastasis recti correct? It also involves the pelvic floor? I have DR so im so excited about the video. This has been a huge issue forme since having my son.
Dr. Mandell I use to listen to Dr. Berg but you give much more valuable information than he does always like hearing any advice you can give concerning overall weight loss and health, KEEP IT UP YOU'RE MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
Can't wait to begin doing these exercises. My back and knees are bad so doing exercises on the floor, for me, is nearly impossible. Thank you!!!

Ahhh this was right on time! Traveling for work and will miss 5 days of boot camp workouts. I can do these anywhere 👍🏾 awesome!
Be blessed for your giving. Your knowledge is very much appreciated.
Hi Dr Mandell, I'm not sure if you monitor questions on your videos, as you have so many followers. But I have the medical condition of 'Diastasis Recti, (separated Adominus). I have been cautioned not to put any strain on my stomach. Would it be risky for me to try this exercise. Obviously due to the lack of abdominal strength, I have a weak core which contributes to lower back pain as well. Thanks
Love you Dr. Mandell! Thank you for making me the healthiest and the best I can be 🙏🏻💕
So inspirational and very easy exercises too especially for 50+ . Appreciate for all the wonderful videos 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻God bless you Dr Mandell
