One of the only songs that can bring me to tears in the first 10 seconds. As years have gone by Older is George Michael’s masterpiece. Every song is great, deep and highly emotional. This album is like a secret place that you can go to get away from everything and find peace. That’s what art is and George was a genius for making great music.

No doubt one of his best songs and he was super talented as well. I'm so lucky and glad to live the years of the 80s when Wham and many other bands and singers were popular. If I recall he wrote this song for his Brazilian boyfriend who died from Aids sometime in the 90s. Obviously, he was pretty much closeted as he was super famous, and the music industry and the general public opinion were not as open these years as it is today...Sad that he left too soon and sad he had to hide at first his sexuality for so long.

Definitely one of the most intense and meaningful songs ever written in Pop Music.

I'm sorry she had to endure this. Thank God it is over for her, I hope she didn't had to suffer to much (for to long) only she, others in her situations and God must know how it is, how must of been the pain the suffering! And I also hope she hasn't forgot to make peace with God and ask for Him to forgive all of her sins before He took her Soul back into his kingdom! Other than that I advice you and people like you not to share publicly family afairs just keep them inside of the family and friends far way out of the public eye. This song brings me to tears. His voice is like no others. He can project such vulnerability, passion and pain in every lyric through his voice. He really was a master at making one feel so emotional when you heard a heart wrenching ballad. WOW, WOW what a talent he was. It is so rare to have a musician that wrote, arranged, played the instruments and produced his own music. This song, I feel was his master piece. I will not ever love another musician like I love this man. He has accompanied me in the best and worst times of my life. I am beyond grateful for that!

My partner and I adored this song, he passed away this morining and this song will be played at his funeral. It was entirely relevant to us as a gay couple who had to be in secret initially when we met 16 years ago. Now he is gone and I am all alone. He is the lover that I miss.

I'm in shock. Why him? I will forever regard 2016 as the year earmarked for taking legendary musicians away from us. So in a way I shouldn't be shocked. But I can't help it. He was only 53. Seriously...who's left? I'm saddened beyond comprehension. George was my personal favorite. I known about his lifelong struggle with depression and later on with substances. In this regard, I felt I've drawn a parallel to him. I'm a musician in the same boat and a year older than George. Back in the early eighties, while he was becoming an international sensation, my band though not as popular, had it's regional success. I am truly grateful for it. But music is such a personal thing. I've learned so much about almost everything just listening to him. Upon it's release, I couldn't understand why "Older" wasn't as huge a success in the U.S. as it was in Europe. But I've learned and now know that the U.S. media will always favor young teen concert going club hopping audiences, so naturally an album as sophisticated as Older just wasn't designed to be "in the wheelhouse" with that crowd. But it just so happened to fit perfectly in mine. George, I will forever miss you and the wonderful sounds you've unselfishly blessed us with. For this I am forever grateful and will always be a fan of yours. I love you. Rest in peace my brother.

+Yhdys Sana you are correct this song was written for and about his first lover who died of AIDs. It has wonderful lyrics and the video is so spot on with the lyrics and feelings of this song. I can understand. I lost a cousin this year who was only 49 of complications from HIV and he too was gay. Life is too short sometimes.

I have been listening to him since i started playing the piano when i was 7-8. I never had the chance to say i love you to a lover because i was afraid she would not like me back and we would've lost what we had. I realized i did actually found peace through his music for everytime i couldn't say i love you to her. George said "i love you" to our lovers for us. Thank you legend

R.I.P legend....This is one the most heartfelt songs in history. It still amazes me how George Michael was able to sing this song despite the very painful times he was going through. Definitely a beautiful song and it could never be sung by anyone else because it’s his voice what makes everything.

You'd be surprised how many of my generation go back to older music and love it more than what's out now. Nowadays trends in music change so fast, it seems, and celebrities nowadays don't write songs for the public anymore. They write songs to brag for themselves. At least the artists that are mainstream and get pushed on us all the time are. There are artists who make good music nowadays, but so many feel so artificial. A lot of my generation appreciate older music because there's more art to it. At least that's the opinion of me and several of my friends.

@Zissou Moonshot you are right indeed about the album Faith. I don't think that a lot of people know that the album Older spawn 6 hits singles that all charted in the top three. I know many other artists have released singles and have all gone into the top 10 but I believe he still holds the record for six singles that went into the top three. I know two of those singles Fast Love and Jesus to a Child hit number one.

George Michael was an Angel a Fallen Angel with a Choirboys Voice. So Deeply Missed...All the Music we got neglected by his absence...

This is a real anthem to true love and pain. George was an outstanding interpreter and composer. That Christmas night was definitely a sad one for all. My most heartfelt respect to him!!!
