Lyrics
(Gotta get up to get down)
(Gotta get up to get down)
(Ooh ooh, baby baby)
Looking for some education
Made my way into the night
All that bullshit conversation
Well baby can't you read the signs?
I won't bore you with the details baby
I don't even wanna waste your time
Let's just say that maybe
You could help to ease my mind
Baby, I ain't Mr. Right
But if you're looking for fastlove
If that's love in your eyes
It's more than enough
Had some bad love
Some fastlove is all that I've got on my mind
(Ooh ooh, baby baby)
Ooh, yeah yeah
(Ooh ooh, baby baby)
What's there to think about baby?
(Ooh ooh, baby baby)
Hey baby, oh yeah
(Ooh ooh, baby baby)
Looking for some affirmation
Made my way into the sun
My friends got their ladies
And they're all having babies
But I just wanna have some fun
I won't bore you with the details baby
Gotta get there in your own sweet time
Let's just say that maybe
You could help to ease my mind
Baby, I ain't Mr. Right
But if you're looking for fastlove
If that's love in your eyes
It's more than enough
Had some bad love
Some fastlove is all that I've got on my mind
Get yourself some lessons in love
So close
I can taste it now baby
So close
In the absence of security
Made my way into the night
Stupid cupid keeps on calling me
But I see nothing in his eyes
I miss my baby, oh yeah
I miss my baby, tonight
So why don't we make a little room
In my BMW babe
Searchin' for some peace of mind
Hey, I'll help you find it
I do believe that we are practicing the same religion
Oh you really oughta get up now
That's right
Oh you really oughta get up
(Ooh ooh, baby baby)
Oh yeah
Looking for some affirmation

@@inlandindieP35how is it ahead of its time when he’s just singing about the experiences of our generation at that time? I don’t understand when people say this about any era. The people at that time were talking about stuff as it happened.
@inlandindieP35

The hook up culture the video depicts was I think a precursor to the tinder era that happened later. I was a 22 year old Airman First Class in a new base when the song was being played at the base nightclub so I was in a position to make those observations. Your opinions may or may not agree as your life experiences were most probably different.
@LifeisthebigO
16 күн бұрын
@@inlandindieP35oh I see. The hook up culture was happening during that time in my experience but it was hush hush we had a term for it under cover freak. It wasn’t out in the open the way tinder busted the doors wide open 😂 hoeing around openly as they called it at that time was not normalized 😅 until the millennials. But yeah lots of especially drunken nightclub hookups were normal and prevalent.

There are Three versions (P.S The Third track you really have to hear the same tone and rhythm!) 1. The Original: Whitney Houston (If I Told You That!) 1998 2. Jennifer Lopez: (If You Had My Love) 1998 “Just Really Listen To Each Track Between (If I told You That Remix 2000 & If You Had My Love 1999) 3. the Remix (If I Told You That 2000) George Michael Changed The Whole Production to That Track And FLOATED the whole song!

Probably one of the greatest songs of the 1990's. Production fusion of disco and P-Funk, flawless ahead of its time video, styled by Vivienne Westwood, expressive and undoubtedly THE song that celebrated open sexuality and identity whilst at the same time taking a very clear dig at Sony, with the "fony" headphones. Utter brilliance, class and typical George. Timeless.

This masterpiece is what convinced me that George was a true Creative artist ahead of his time. His fluidity as an artist and ability to make his craft timeless gems is what in my view set him apart from his peers. This video is impeccable. The lighting, theme and fine culture behind it matches well with the song itself. I have come to view George as a rare painter 🎨 who has no boundaries or obstacles to hinder his art. Musically he could no wrong and he found the key to making music that defied the constrictions and limitations of time. His art can never be categorized as being dated. He was too fluid for that. This sounds today as fresh and invigorating and just plain sexy as it did when it 1st came out. I can never become bored with this mans work. He was truly a phenomenal talent that left an indelible mark on music 🎶 that will stand the test of time without any debate to the contrary 👏🔥❤❤
Une pépite celle ci ❤
EL GRAN GEORGE MICHAEL
My favourite George Michael track. I will remember him not just for the music but for his kindness and generosity, because in 2008 he held a free concert for NHS nurses at Wembley stadium to show his gratitude to the care his dying mother received from NHS staff. I was lucky to go and see him live there for the first time with my Mum who is a nurse. It was such a great concert and his voice hadn't changed. I remember and thank him for his music and his generosity. RIP George Michael.
This man had it all. Talent, looks, money, power...hell, he even dated countless beautiful women such as Brooke Shields back in the day... I would of given my right nut to live the life he had. Yeah , he died younger than the average man, but what a life... better live an extraordinary and exciting life than grow old and become another monotonous, routine automata...
