I would fly to the moon & back if
you'll be...
If you'll be my baby
Got a ticket for a world where we
belong
So would you be my baby?

Coming back to this song in 2024 because Savage Garden is timeless!
Life was simpler back then in 1998 , laidback summers , no texts , no emails , no cell phones just pure outdoor fun, gatherings and in person conversations .will that time ever come back ??This song brings back all those memories back with a strong nostalgic wave !

When I was a child I didn't understand why Savage Garden was so popular. But now that I'm older I see that it wasn't your average pop act of that period. The lyrics display a level of emotional intelligence that is rare, even today.

Charlotte Hemingway not particularly. Even if you knew I was going to insult you in response that's not predictability it's more along the lines of cause and effect. You acted like a moron so I treated like you were. It's actually the logical response. You got the response you predicted because you acted like an idiot. Sarcasm or not, you brought it upon yourself. Even if I had responded as you may have expected. it doesn't detract from my original statement or even add to your obvious lack of intellect.
I was just a child when this came out but now as a grown up. This touches my heart, almost as it's about some part of my life.

I don’t believe we will ever have a band again like savage garden. They had some huge hits but their talent was never recognised like it should have been. The lyrical ability of Hayes and Jones, the pure poetry. All of their songs were light years ahead of the nineties/early noughties. It’s the way they capture emotions, create this heady ambience, build to a crescendo. Nobody did it like them then and nobody does today. Utter brilliance.

Мне 41 год до сих слушаю эти песни))
She’s taking her time making up the reasons To justify all the hurt inside Guess she knows from the smiles And the look in their eyes Everyone’s got a theory about the bitter one They’re saying Mama never loved her much And daddy never keeps in touch That’s why she shies away from human affection But somewhere in a private place She packs her bags for outer space And now she’s waiting for The right kind of pilot to come (and she’ll say to him) She’s saying I would fly you to the moon and back If you’ll be, if you’ll be my baby Got a ticket for a world where we belong So, would you be my baby? Ooh-ooh She can’t remember a time When she felt needed If love was red then she was color-blind All her friends they’ve been trialed for treason And crimes that were never defined But she’s saying Love is like a barren place And reaching out for human faith Is like a journey I just don’t have a map for So baby gonna take a dive and push the shift to overdrive Send a signal that she’s hanging all her hopes on the stars (What a pleasant dream) just saying I would fly you to the moon and back If you’ll be, if you’ll be my baby Got a ticket for a world where we belong So, would you be my baby? Mama never loved her much And daddy never keeps in touch That’s why she shies away from human affection But somewhere in a private place She packs her bags for outer space And now she’s waiting for The right kind of pilot to come (and she’ll say to him) She’s saying I would fly you to the moon and back If you’ll be, if you’ll be my baby Got a ticket for a world where we belong So, would you be my baby? yeah
Very emotional song ❤
For two years, I listened to it for two days. It was like a cure for my sorrows. This song got better. I am my mother, who I lost one day. She was next to me saying the same words and saying, “Encourage my son. I am always near you.”
It's MAY 2022, let's see how many legends are listening to this masterpiece

I think that new generations seem to be different in this respect! I work with teenagers and I’ve had the chance to get to know a bit of their perspective. I was talking in general. And it goes without saying that all peopl fall in love. I guess it’s the generation gap.

My favorite Savage Garden song! Takes me back to where I was in my life in 1998 and it gets me a bit sentimental, aside from just being a great song. When you’re young, you go through times that you want to just get through or move on to somewhere else, but in the future, you sometimes yearn for those days because they’re over and not coming back. 90s music forever!

A very compassionate song exploring the topic of avoidant attachment and how it manifests in relationships - spoken from a place of real warmth and a will to try and understand rather than to criticize ❤
This song was released almost 30 years ago, and I was 6 or 7 years old when I first listened to it. Still, every time I listen to it, I get goosebumps. Most songs made these days don't have the same spirit and mood.
As much as I love 80s music, the 90s had some fine music, this being one prime example. The question is , what the hell happened to music after 2000 ? I couldn't care less if it sounds cliche, but wtf...
