As far as I'm concerned, Jammin' In New York is the single greatest hour of comedy ever produced. The timing, the energy, the depth... I don't think it'll ever be equaled.

Carlin's comedy is timeless and just as funny now as it was 30 years ago. A true master.

The man was a genius! I’m forever amazed A.) that he could think this stuff up. B.) that he could remember it, and most of all C.) that he could deliver it so fast and with such perfect timing. . . And he literally NEVER stumbled over his words, like not EVER. I can’t string three sentences together without tripping up in some way, and he talked for 90 minutes at a time with so much as an “uh” or “um”.

​@abc456f Well that is even more amazing. As someone who has done a fair bit of public speaking, I find rehearsed and exact phrasing very limiting. Basically I find it challenging to get it absolutely perfect, but speak in ideas rather than words. Carlin is definitely a one off. Genius.

This is one of his all-time best routines, absolutely brilliant! George actually went to work to write his content. He had an office and was very professional about his art form. That's why he is the absolute king of making you laugh at things you didn't notice were funny when they happen.

Very overrated man. If you sit and go through his shows and topics they are very very basic he uses the same recycled jokes as nearly all comedians use. It doesn't take a genius to do a bit of research and watch all the videos about him to realise all his material is reused, cliche jokes and topics and aot of the material he used for over 10 years. Comedic genius? I think not, tbh alot if not all of the humour is made up by kids in school which is embarrassing on his part because he's coming up with the same jokes as a kid in school.

I've been laughing at that joke since the '70s when he first told it. Yes, I've heard it countless times and it still makes me laugh.

This guy is golden. Not many standups I find funny. This guy is hilarious 😂

This is one of his best routines. I've watched it many times and it never fails to make me cry with laughter. Such a genius with the English language. He is truly missed.

I got to see this man three times live. Comedic genius.

anybody who got to see George live during his comedic prime is lucky person

Roof flies off! I can watch this a hundred times, hell I probably have..... Carlin was what all other comics aspire to be, the best ever.

@@johnristheanswer an “act” or “performance” is the entire set. A bit is one joke/story from the entire performance. You’ll hear comedians say “I’m working on this new bit”; meaning they’re trying out new material to add to their full hour performance.

This is classic Carlin and about as funny as it gets. My favorite comedy bit EVER

The day after I first saw this special I was getting on a plane to go to Germany and all I did was cry laughing the entire time I was on the plane for the lectures and all that stuff. Rest in peace george, you are so great that at one point in time I had to stop watching you because I couldn't stop laughing at everything in life

“THE LADY ON THE PLANE” is my favorite bit. His voice and facial expression is perfect, along with “BROKEN PLANE.”

This is an example of ageless comedy!

Hysterical. I couldn't stop laughing. Fantastically funny. Carlin at his best

Can you imagine the comedy of George during Covid, Pandemic and Biden?? It would be EPIC!!
