I still have a couple of George Carlin's LP's in my collection from the early 1970's; I saw his first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. Over the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries, we have seen some very gifted humorists. But I've yet to see anybody as fast, intelligent, creative, thought-provoking and consistently educational as this gentleman. Absolutely one of a kind!

Like how people think the idea of a selfie is weird, while admiring portraits of famous people. The only difference has been the level of accessibility of being that "portrait" has become my accessible. Those famous people paid famous artists do it it, now I have an app that puts my face on those types of images.

Smartphones at least serve a purpose beyond just recording. I could definitely see him complaining about the pervasiveness of modern technology but I doubt he'd put smartphones on the same level as fucking camcorders. I don't know how he'd feel about Snapchat. On the one hand the pic disappears after you view it so it's very in-the-moment, and it's primarily used for sexting so I doubt he'd have a problem with that. On the other hand, it sort of adds to the shortening attention span of modern times. I think he'd be more likely to make fun of Instagram, which has essentially become the new way of taking pictures of anything and everything.

do you even have any idea how old you sound? '...since it's primarily used for sexting' do you enjoy just perpetuating false bullshit that you have no idea about? that's like the rumor-mill tagline parents used about it when it was still in its infancy stage 4 years ago.

George Carlin was the most brilliant and best American comedian of all time, his speech on Cultural Issues from 1996 was pure comedy gold, and George Carlin's specials like Jammin' in New York, Back in Town, and You Are All Diseased from 1992 to 1999 are my absolute favorites.

Do the best they can and then eventually they will be the generation being told they didn’t do enough. Especially since every generation has had better medical advancements than the ones before it causing them to stay in the workforce longer. As we begin to live longer we also work longer careers, so people aren’t retiring and “getting out of the way “ for the generation below them to ascend as high as they did until later in their respective careers. It’s happened long enough now for where there’s natural order of when people enter and leave the workforce has skipped a beat and there is a log jam at the top.

There are 'comedians' whom I really like to hear talk, Carlin is one of them. He did comedy in it's purest form. I just hoped people would not be so fucking blind to the information available nowadays. So much stuff available and yet most of us learn from the shittiest stuff. Instead of watching news I'd rather watch this, old school music, other type of information channels, mostly related to philosophy, life and nature/animals, and the feeling is hard to explain: you kinda feel more at peace with yourself and feel better, while most look at you crazy for being different. If you feel you got the 'intelligence' and determination for it, search for knowledge. Being open minded and searching for your own path and knowledge is against most of today's societies.
