    The comment below nailed it. Carlin was, among many other things, a bone fide "street" philosopher. (the best kind!) He offered all people a way to look at life through the brilliance of his thought. I like philosophy, my father is a philosophy professor (and I love him) but I struggle to like philosophers. Most make life feel like a disciple and only bullshit to their intellectually snobby colleagues from ivory tower to ivory tower. Life is freaking hard as hell. It's complicated beyond all measure. BUT....a lot of it is a big fucking joke. (no offense...I'm more of a joke than anyone!) I had the pleasure of meeting Carlin in a small, empty West LA bookstore. It was a bold move for me to approach him. I was 21 or 22 and figured there was a chance he'd embarrass and reject me. He didn't at all but he was far from offering a cheesy smile and autograph. He put me to the test. When I thanked him for his work, he noted his appreciation but firmly asked, "why thanks." I quickly explained my Uncle died from a particularly painful and debilitating from of cancer. In his last year, all he asked for was tapes/recordings/anything re: George Carlin. There was mostly crying in the last year of my Uncle's life and Carlin brought in the only laughs. He comforted a debilitated sick man looking at an early death. As I sped through my story, Carlin started to lighten up and then started to cry. He gave me an autograph and thanked me on paper for "one of the greatest compliments of my life." I could tell he didn't feel comfortable crying because he turned his head and tried to hide himself. He was observant enough to realize I was young and broke. I wore two different shoes for a year because I couldn't find any combo at the thrift store big enough to fit size 14 feet. After the autograph, I started to walk aways and he grabbed my arm. Then, to my confusion, he opened his wallet and gave me $100. I told him I didn't want money and couldn't/wouldn't take it. In his brilliance, he said, "pretend you're a Mormon and this donation is to leave me the fuck alone." I laughed and he pushed the money in my shirt pocket. I needed it and I know he could spare it. I think Carlin had a drug problem because he couldn't stand to look at life sober. I get it!! If you're a caring celeb, you'll get money and fame but you also view a unique dark side of life. I can only imagine a common guy telling me that I helped his dying Uncle and distraught family through the final year of cancer. I'd fucking fall into pieces. Rest in peace, Mr. Carlin!

If you value yourself and someone is threatening you then killing them is okay, so things like nuclear weapons are fantastic for that purpose. "Our reason is why we deserve extinction." +Gilles Tremblay what UFO? why are people so dumb to believe in that shit. You think there is aliens somewhere? Even if the aliens exist they are probabli thousands of light years away and we will never meet them, manking will never ever have any contact with aliens. I personaly think there is no aliens at all, but even if they exist they would probably look at us like we look at ants. But like I said there is 0 chance that we will ever see aliens ever

    +mudza92 I believe there are aliens somewhere. But I also believe that those planets and society will never be found by human. I also think that if they do existed then they will be just like us if not a shittier version. People talking about aliens as high-tek well-adapted gods and will destroy us when they came here, but aren't we just who we are due to natural cause??Why can you be so sure that at some far away planet with 0.01% chance of being the same natural condition as we do, people there wont do fucked up shits like us????Everything happened to humans are mostly cause by natural reasons, means it will happen eventually, so why haven't people expect the same as aliens history? We all stuck with with this "god-like aliens are outhere" , scientists making dumb, vivid theories....they might be right but I rather believe in some Dorito religion than to hope for a out-siders visits to earth in my or my grandson lifetime. Money and efforts put in space explore, in the fear of being wiped out for a couple of years later for climate changing.....just accept your death already. I need some coffee right now ;_;

    Chimpanzees have been known to have some pretty nasty "wars," some of which involve cannibalism and other things that humans do. One such war was the Gombe War (1974- 1978). Yeah, humans are pretty messed up when you think about it, but we also developed the concept of a peace treaty.

    Meta won't let me share GC videos because the truth hurts. I've been listening to and watching this man speak since I was a baby. My parents were big fans of his and collected vinyl. Toledo Window Box has a great cover! My Dad and I always watched his HBO specials together once he started doing them. He opened my eyes to the truth of the world more than any other writer, philosopher or stoic I'd ever studied. Becaue he took all of his own combined life widsom and shared it in a way people would understand and deeply enjoy. It's all the Great and Secret show until the wool gets pulled away from the eyes.
