Got the update on Epix Pro and as always I am very excited to have all these new features, kudos to Garmin!

Golf also got updated. Plays like now includes wind, humidity and altitude

Huberman had a podcast episode on this temperature variations while you're sleeping and how to use it with your technologies. One is setting your thermostat to change throughout the night in sync with when your body heats up and cools down through your sleep cycles. Some people have temperature changing mattress called eight sleep which you can regulate based on your Garmin skin temp readings

Hi Dave, Thanks! how to get the Dexcom integrated watch face? I have Venu 3 and Tactic 7, both of them do not seem to have Dexcom data in the watch face even though I have already down loaded the Dexcom data field . Do you know the Garmin link for proper instruction? Thanks! 🙏🙏🙏

It’s cool they have Rugby, but who would want to wear a watch while playing rugby? Your watch would probably get ripped off your arm as it drags against some dudes face.

I'm a dairy farmer and having my arm squeezed in between a concrete wall and a cow is the most likely death of any watch I ever had 😅 even a Fenix got ruined that way - it looked scratched, but water got in the case afterwards

I still using my 6x pro. The only feature I would like to upgrade is the battery life of the 7x or the 7x pro, maybe the epix gen 2 pro. But until it works I won’t get any upgrades. But You are still doing great on your ultras, I admire your activity. Cheers

It's crazy how the Venu 3 is such a packed feature watch even compared to my old Fenix 6 😭

If they put a qwerty keyboard for texting it would be amazing... only thing I miss from my galaxy watch

I think it would`ve been great if they could make it possible for the "Lock/Unlock Device" feature to only apply for the critical keys during activity. I think that would`ve increased usability of the watch during an adventure in the cold. Suunto watches have that option, and the original Epix had that option. Apart from that I feel Im starting to drown from all the features coming to my 965 :)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic which I really love. But charging it everyday is becoming really tiring. I then bought a Vivoactive 5 and before I left the store, I saw the Forerunner 265 white display model which looks so good. I ended up upgrading my watch in just 2 minutes after purchasing it (Vivo5 to FR265). Twice the price but no regrets.

I love being able to text not as much the talking but texting from the watch.... I loved the galaxy 6 classic but garmin is light years ahead in everything else. So if they bring in a qwerty keyboard it would be amazing... I believe there are keyboards on other models so finger crossed

I had red shift feature on my vivo 3s before this update. The workout stuff as well. I got my vivo last Friday send via Amazon and it already had that feature. I also got the update today and have the new skin temperature feature. So i could not had somehow this update already installed.

Yes, it's also on the Forerunner 965 and Venu 3.

hi update took my face off and wont let me use it as keeps asking me to design one I have had to give in as it just keeps changing it, arrrrrrrrrrrr, Fenix 7 solar and I don't have some of the features shown on here

My epix Saphire (non pro) has and even already had skin temperature before this update. So not just on models with the new heartrate sensor?

You might be referring to the estimated body temp widget. That’s not using a sensor it’s just an estimate while the gen 5 sensor has a hardware change that allows it to detect the temperature of your skin.

With all those updates. I use the fenix 6 pro and may be that is not an issue on newer models but the watch suggests a running workout and it doesn't matter if I go to work by bike (takes 2 hours) or do some strength/cardio workout at home or how low my body batterie gets the suggested running workout stays the same. Shouldn't it be suggested based on my right now stats? That would something I would hope for. Because it seems a cool feature but in the end I'm often ignoring the workout because it doesn't seem to fit anymore in evening considering how the day went. or may be it is an user failure and I'm doing something wrong :-)

The suggested workout feature isn't perfect. First, it only works for running activities so if you're mainly doing strength work it will always still suggest going for a run. Second, it will always suggest a "base" run even if your body is run down or you're recovering from a heavy lift workout. For runners, it's a bit more useful but for cross training it's a little deceiving. I'd like to see them improve that!

Apple watch 8 vs venu 3?

1:23 is redshift available for Fenix 7??? I can’t find it but your chart says I should have it…

No, red shift mode is only on OLED display models like the Epix or Venu 3. The Fenix uses an MIP display so there's no need for red shift since it's sort of already in "low eye strain" mode 100% of the time.

Red mode is only available on OLED watches like the Epix or Venu 3. It's not really needed on the Fenix since the Fenix uses an MIP display that's low eye strain.

I was so happy when I got the update a few hours ago and can now see security cam / doorbell images on my Garmin (like I already could in a Samsung watch) ❤ Will have to learn about this "running power" business now :)

@@ismathem just automatically. Eufy security cams and Ring doorbell (and I assume most others) send image on the notification, so the watch grabs that and shows it too. Looks great on the amoled screen.

Tactix 7 Pro is based on the Fenix 7 (non-pro) platform which has the Gen 4 heart rate sensor (similar to the 965, Epix (gen 2 non pro). So it will receive the new nap detection and body battery updates but is physically limited in that it doesn't have a temperature sensor on the back of the watch like the newer Epix Pro, Fenix Pro, and Tactix 7 AMOLED.

Green shift and orange shift has also been added. The green shift with AOD looks so nice, almost like the lume of a real watch

Yep, that was added in a recent firmware update

I hoped for Body battery also that 7days chart. As easy as you can see your Rest Heart rate or Sleep score during last 7 days. It would be perfect to see also max value of BB for last days.

After Garmin it's only chaos 😉

I wish Epix Pro 2 would get sleep coach. Any word on this?

Fenix 7 is an MIP display watch. The red shift mode only applies to AMOLED watches like Epix, 965, and Venu 3.

Try connecting via wifi and selecting "Check for Update" in the settings. Otherwise, you could try Garmin Express on a computer over a USB cable. These updates take time to roll out.

Do you know if the Forerunners 265 and 965 watches sold in the USA the same as those sold in the European Union or are they different? I have noticed that they are much cheaper in the US than in EU

To my knowledge they are the same device but they come preinstalled with different maps.

Nap is a great add on. Any idea if Garmin Instinct 2x will get it as well ?

The 965 has the Gen 4 heart rate sensor. Unfortunately this feature is only available with the Gen 5 sensor which is currently only on the Fenix 7 Pro, Epix Pro, Tactix 7 AMOLED, and Venu 3.

It's currently only used for sleep tracking data. You'll see a "skin temperature" metric in your sleep data once you've updated.

Fenix 7 Pro --- I just updated my watch to 15.74 while watching your video. No red shift for me :(

It's unlikely they will add that to the AMOLED models as solid white backgrounds with that type of display draw a lot of power and would result in less battery life.

It's only available on OLED models like the 965, 265, Epix, Tactix AMOLED, Etc... Red Shift isn't needed on MIP models like your 955 since they're sort of in easy visibility mode already. (but with color)

I think this is why garmin is doing it. They are feeling the heat from Coros and their long term watch support. People feel they can trust the brand. I noticed they have been adding a lot of stuff that even the cheap coros watches have (e. G. Power), and started extending the lives of devices. Think they have been running scared for a while, especially given how much more reliable coros devices are too. They clearly still dominate the space, but I guess their sales have stagnated a bit.

Which $900 watch? Assuming it's an Epix Pro or Fenix Pro? Those are both included. This is a hardware limitation due to the newer sensor.
