I ain’t subscribing to my goddamn mattress
😂
can you please confirm if the Navigation OTA update is already available?
I believe it is. But the maps are still not routeable just basemaps for context.
@@ChaseTheSummit thank you for this one. this is the number one main feature I needed. You do amazing reviews for core functions.
What the heck, if it was around $1,000 I’d probably try it. But 2500? lol
Yep, it's a lot. However, I'm not sure I could go back to not having it now.
@@ChaseTheSummit so now you’ll have to pack your mattress with you when you go on vacation lol
@@Seanonyoutube I just might!
@@ChaseTheSummit the sweet joy of minimalism
Thanks for giving the most detailed overview I have seen of the device. I have seen a lot of ads for it on other channels, but nothing that really went into the details like your video.
Glad it was helpful!
We love it but but it started leaking after about one year.
I saw a couple of complaints of that on reddit! Did Eight Sleep replace yours?
@@ChaseTheSummit I never requested a replacement. I just turned off that side of the cover.
I've used a competitor (Dock Pro by SleepMe) for about a year and a half, and am I huge supporter of this technology! You haven't understated any of the benefits. As a hot sleeper it has literally changed my life! I'm not knocking the 8sleep but I would suggest people look into the DockPro if they are strongly considering it but it's a bit out of reach financially. The dockpro is a bit cheaper to start off with ($2K for a king), comes in half sizes for even less if your partner doesn't want it or you sleep aloge, and the subscription is not required (no automation and fancy tracking but you can still program the schedule to change throughout the night however you'd like)! They even make lower end units like the Ooler but everything I've read makes them sound pointless. 8sleep pros: better app, way better marketing (makes it feel sexier), aesthetics are nicer (subjective), better presence on Reddit, automation and stats. Dockpro pros: cheaper to start, half sizes, no subscription required, physical buttons on the unit, short enough to fit under many beds so you can tuck it in under the foot of the bed (but then you can't access the buttons). Apparently it cools better but I haven't heard of people complaining that the 8sleep doesn't get cold enough.
First of all, I'd pay anything for good sleep. But . . . this and the subscription plan seems like a lot. Great review as always.
Really ? Just sleep, stop creating useless device which lead us to environment crisis
I would argue there are far more useless devices out there than this lol.
@@ChaseTheSummit 100%!! I have one of those competitors you mentioned (still water cooled) but if someone uses AC then this is better environmentally. It can also replace AC fully like it has for me. Plus my productivity in the world is so much better with a good night sleep. Great review!
The chart is amazingly helpful. Thank you
4:22 - a series of tubes, just like the internet
The high price is one big negative, plus the necessary subscription makes it excessive! 👎 Natural ventilation and occasional air conditioning will have to do the job until these guys begin to lower the price and do away with this brazen subscription!
Sleep, is the number 1 recovery tool and the number 1 health promoter. I would justify 500 for a single mat with smaller unit. No need for metrics because i have the same metrics on my Garmin.
That's true! Though, the Eight Sleep utilizes the metrics to automatically adjust your temperatures throughout the night and learn your body over time.
The dockpro is still expensive (king is $2k) but less (and comes in half sizes so a half king is $1350). I made a comment about it. You wouldn't regret either though! Amazing technology if hot sleeping is an issue for you.
What a stupid idea. An expensive product with additional subscription cost. People will spend money on anything... Cool video. Interesting.
I actually love my eight sleep. The sleep tracking is super accurate based on how I feel in the morning and the warmth I need to fall asleep disappears so I don’t get overheated and wake up again
Thanks for sharing. It's kind of a game changer!
THX for this VDO. Is it possible to measure blood pressure with one of them? If so, with what accuracy?
Nope, blood pressure is still a tricky one for a watch to detect without some sort of air filled sleeve. However, there's new technology on the horizon that can detect it via a light so we may see that change in coming years.
@@ChaseTheSummit ok, thank you for this very quick reply
Instinct 2 good with hrm pro?
Works great!
@@ChaseTheSummit are these more accurate than the wrist sensor on watches?
Very nice watch but I sent it back due to its poor software update record
Very good video, helped me a lot
Super useful video Dave! Thank you! Really, Thank You! 🙂
Did U try the app with android phone?
I prefer the longer battery life on the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar. I spent two and half weeks on a camping/hiking trip last month and didn't have to charge the beast until the last week. Only because i used the torch on the beast more than i should have it's just so convenient. Im now looking at the Garmin Instinct 2X solar tactical for work ( Security Sector ) we'll see how the fenix 7x pro goes at work first. The Instinct has stealth mode where as the Fenix 7X doesn't! But I'll try airplane mode on the fenix and see if that does the same as stealth mode. Another awesome review mate thanks
I haven't found any videos that justifies Garmin's prices 😕. I agree the flat bezel is nice 👍. I wouldn't give up my Apple Watch Ultra 2 for a Garmin anything right now but with Samsung all day. 300 bucks for a brighter watch 😌 craziness. Im attracted to the Tactix tho❤, maybe one day. Thanks again 👍
which watchface do you prefer? Is that the one in the video?
Available on Watch since 2020. Watch Series 4. Just saying…
I have the amaze fit T. rex and I’m happy with it. Lasts for days on a single charge. Battery does go faster when you use features like when you exercise. But otherwise reliable for those who want reliability
I love the G Shock because of its solid rough look and had been a G Shock wearer for 30 years. But then i was introduced to the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar, and im sold. So i brought it for me at the cost of a screaming wife. Luckily for me, i also brought me some awesome samsung buds to drown out the screaming. Awesome review
Tired. We get tired of the same old phone...I upgraded from the Apple 8 to the 15 at Thanksgiving. I've had the Vivoactive 3 for three years now. There's nothing wrong with it, but as time passes, Garmin economizes, functions get upgraded and certainly the Vivoactive 5 screen is amazingly better looking than the 3. I was tired of the 3 and it's time to upgrade to the 5. For as often as things get better, faster and more colorful, I'm entirely happy with these new upgrades.
Price drop at REI so I bought the Titanium one last week. I bought it for the refined size, sapphire screen…..
So do you think it's trex ultra worth the double price as compared to trex 2?

Beautiful design
RunGap needs to teach Apple how to sync between apps. RunGap has nailed it! Thanks for the info, great podcast!!
Please try to talk much much faster so that your video will need several views to try to understand what the heck your tech savvy information can be comprehended.
The music is really good. What is it? Reminds me of Tycho.
Did they fix real time lag issue for displaying runnkng pace?
lag is about 20 seconds
I'm interested. The price point is right and it's rugged. Most Garmin and coros in this price point arent as rugged i Believe. I could be wrong
I own a fr965 and this one is shipping. Just like a more rugged watch
Does the calender sync with Google?
Oddly no it's sort of it's own thing.
Great review Dave! 100% Real and Honest! Thank God ordinary people make tech reviews too, and not only professional KZreadrs and Influencers! 2-5 Minutes for GPS sync, No Weather, No Maps... I know it is $500 and not $1100 like the Garmin's, but the other thing that I know too is the current year is 2024... and the overall filling is like this watch is from 2014! It is a shame how the Titan like Casio does not use the opportunity and does not make this watch Really stack up with features for the outdoors, but probably the problem is in the Satellite support and they have none in comparison with Garmin InReach established applications, services, and team to support the whole thing.
Hello, is it good to recharge the polar at 100%? Or did I have to charge it to 80%? Please someone answer me
Could you pls test Huawei watches?
In the USA they're not that easy to get and not fully functional which is why I typically don't review them.
Thank you!
My favorite is the pack of eight different styles I got from Amazon for $26. That’s definitely my favorite!
What earbuds are these?
Jaybird Vista 2
I'm a beginner runner. Currently, I can get the Forerunner 55 on sale for €150 with shipping, while the COROS Pace 2 is ~€200. What should I get at this time?
Want the old version please
I was hoping that the satellite communication would be easier to use like the inReach. I am part of a SAR organization and this will do nothing for me if i want to have direct communication with a subject.
This is more of a “it’s better than nothing” feature that I think will get better over time.
Great video. Thank you.
Just got the Verity Sense. I am dealing with a 18 yr old arortic heart valve replacement that I want to keep tabs on while I'm on the Pickleball court. I get elevated HR at times and need to make sure my HR does not stay high for too long before coming back to normal. Was using a Fitbit style but I'm not confident on the acuracy of it.
Thank you for the awesome and balanced review! I am looking for a no-frills running watch and the Pace 3 seems to tick all the boxes. Waiting for mine to arrive :) Also considered the FR255 but I don't really need the music or lifestyle frills, plus it does cost a bit more. Question: how's the readability like on the Pace 3? It does look rather dim in the vid.
