Fish Temagami Ep1 - Thunderstick Test & Spring Walleye Fishing

Ойын-сауық

Visit www.fishtemagami.com to find the lures mentioned in the show.
In this episode... We give tips for hunting walleye along the shoreline in early spring as they come out from their spawning sites. We test out a new lure -- the Storm Thunderstick Madflash Series and see how it measures up to the old standby -- a Rapala. We also explain how to spot the difference between deep dive and shallow dive lures.

I don't get out fishing so much in the very late fall with work being busy, but my best guess is you'll find the walleye deeper (about 20-30'). Just from general observance I have noticed the a lot of the smaller baitfish leave beaver huts and head to deeper water about mid-end of September, and the bigger fish will be following them. You can try shoreline to start for pike, but if you get no luck, I wouldn't be to slow to move a bit deeper in your findings.

Pickerel : Is from the pike family. Walleye : Is from the perch family. Two different fish! Google it! Just saying!

Smaller water bodies will likely cool faster than Lake Temagami (which is my main place for fishing), so you might need to keep that in mind. Episode 8 was filmed last year in Cliff Lake, which should be similar to Rabbit I would think, and we were catching them in about 8-15 feet of water. It was September 17th we filmed that episode.

people commenting about walleyes not being called pickerel, actually walleye is a yellow pickerel, don't mistake the chain pickerel (southern pike) with it

Where do you think walleyes are in the spring when the temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

@Winkiedoodles Give me a shout when you do! :) Although, for pickerel, I prefer spring, the rest of the year I spend a lot of time bassing, with the occasional walleye when I stay out too late. :)

Why do you call walleye "pickerel"? Two different species.
