Yes, my partner doing the video doesn't have a matching reel and rod setup - the rod he is using is more for a spincast reel, and is just plain awkward with a open faced spinning reel... This year we'll get him set up with a matching setup, but we'll also make a video demonstrating the difference, since we're trying to reach beginner anglers as well. :)

Mitchell isn't my son, he worked with me last year in my business and with the fishing show, taking more of a video editing and cameraman position. He used his rod and reel in this video, and it is a mismatched set - a spincast reel on a baitcaster rod. We'll make sure he's got a matched set this year when we go out. :) I didn't even notice until I saw him reeling in the big bass and saw the spincast on top and the trouble it caused. Found out after the rod wouldn't allow a correct hold.

While I have no desire to enter into a controversial topic like houseboats in a setting like this, I don't mind discussing it with you. But let's be honest and truthful, it matters not what mode of travel people use, it comes down to the person. In all user groups there are people that care, and people that don't. You can't just call out one group.
