Thanks Big Joe! Always appreciate knowing people are enjoying the videos. Been busy working on cutting episode 6. We're running a bit behind schedule on release dates. Who knew it would take so long to cut them together! :)
Love that Loon call.
This video had us halfway up the northeast arm, in around Broom Island.
Great vid keep them coming!
I hope to catch some bass spawning with the underwater cam this year! Should get the chance in June... Hope they don't all sneak in during the night...
Oh, Island #5 has always been the big spot, and still several boats there over the summer nights. Frankly, I've tried there and haven't had much luck either. I'd suggest finding a shoal where they'll be coming up from the deep to feed similar to island #5, but with less fishing pressure. Use a shoal map to ID some likely spots, then scout with the depth finder to see how the layout looks. If it comes up from 50 feet to about 18, I'd give it a go. Ship Island is always another popular spot.
We are about 35 minutes south of New Liskeard, or 1 hour north of North Bay.
The thing folks from the US don't seem to realize is that in northern Ontario at least, walleye are often referred to as pickerel. Listen to locals talk about fishing, and most of them will say "pickerel". It's like a dialect. While it may not be correct, it is hard to adapt from something you've heard all your life to saying the right word, all the time, especially in front of the camera in the heat of the moment. That is why you'll hear me slip and say pickerel once in a while. It's habit.
if its taking a while to make the episode it will probably turn out fine
Is Island #4 still a popular fishing spot? I know when my dad was younger there used to be a dozen or so boats. When we go up in July there are usually about four. We haven't had a ton of luck there in the past few years. Would consider some new fishing spots along the NE arm.
See my long explanation to Brandondanny100 as to why you'll hear me slip and call them pickerel on occasion. It's a regional thing.
Where are you guys fishing here, Mike? (As in, what islands are you near?)
very small fish
I have the habit of always setting the hook all the time even with every bite I get...I need to work on being patience in bites, Any tips?

When trolling, you should try and set the hook, when using worms that have a long dangle from the hook that the fish might need to work it's way up you will need to give them a bit of time. Training yourself not to pull immediately is hard, but something you will have to mentally do - force yourself not to react at every tap by a fish. Once you get through the first 20, it'll come more naturally to you to not react, but to wait for the opportune moment.

Nope, it's part of a sound pack from Video Copilot - some good beats on it.
that was a walleye, not a pickerel.
Was gonna sub until you called that walleye a completly other species.
