I love that you just don't listen once. Especially with Ghost you need more than once to understand. The beauty of this song is not that it's just a worship song to Satan. It's how Tobias disguised it so well that even a christian radio station played it and people called in and asked about the beautiful song they just heard. That's is One hell of a trick to pull. I love this song so much it's just ridiculous. It's the song that started it all for me and i still get goosebumps and even cry when i listen to it. Thank you so much. Love your reaction. /Magnus

I am finding with a lot of Ghost music, and He Is certainly is a good example, that with repeated listens you hear all the nuances and their songs grow exponentially on you. I thought He Is was a nice rock ballad the first listen, but now I consider it one of the finest rock ballads I have ever heard.

I heard that story about the christian radio station and about fell over laughing - that's what is unique about this song. Its Tobias' brilliance - it is literally a satire of every christian worship song, except a love song to the devil.

Since you brought up people mistaking this one for Christian rock, I've heard tales that some Christian radio stations did play it before they knew what it was actually about. And today is Tobias' birthday so a big happy birthday to him! I've been jamming out to Ghost most of today and can't wait to see them (for only the second time) in August. :D

I recognized Papa was acting like a televangelist and the white outfit with the aviators definitely tickled some dim, childhood memory so I did some digging. Turns out he’s dressed very much like Jim Jones, who you might remember from the Jonestown massacre.

"He" is referring to the singer Tobias's big brother that died, which was sort of his guiding light in spite of being a typical jokingly spiteful brother. Described as pop-culture Satan for the theatrics. Ghost is usually using religious symbolism to make fun of how shallow pop-culture usually is, where Satan is the rebellious character questioning and challenging it. He has mentioned this in an interview, couldn't find a comment about it so I thought I'd mention it. Pretty hard to deduce at first glance 😅

There is much conjecture about this song, I'm not entirely sure how much of it is accurate. But apparently the song was originally written to mean one thing, but then evolved lyrically. I've tried to see if the later part of the conjecture is close to accurate but haven't found it, but I'll throw it in here anyway. Tobias' older brother, who was very much a big part of his musical progression, died the night Ghost essentially "blew up" on MySpace and Tobias has said: "It felt like some weird trade: the band for my brother. It was like, 'This has happened, there's nothing I can do with it, I've just got to take the ball and run with it.' And I've been running with it ever since." So, some say the later lyrics in the song are about his big brother, Sebastian. Is it? Shrug. But there is no doubt that the loss propelled Tobias.

There is surely about a lot of things but in the Swedish Podcast "Värvet" he said it was originally a song to his wife that loved Italy and Italian cheesy singers like Eros Ramazzotti. The name of the song was She Is ". I give you a link with English subtitles here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mJylysqOftS6ZLw.html

It's an accurate representation of just how many people deeply feel the joy his music can provide. Sincerely, all the best to you and your channel.

This song was written after one of the members of another band named Devils Blood took his own life. From what I was told, that 1st recorded take was the one on the album. It sat on a shelf for years . Also, I know for a fact, it has been used in worship. Not for a Christian service of course but exactly as intended. The fact that it's repetitive makes it easy to sing even Acapella.

Tobias further clarified the chorus is about his brother, and the verses are about the death of the musician (not a close friend but an acquaintance). What you're missing from the live videos is the sight of an arena full of fans with their phones' flashlights on, a myriad of lights swaying gently in the darkness: absolutely magical... I would encourage you to seek out any live recording from 2022 to see this.

Music dedicated to the falling shinning Serafim, most intelligent of the angels hierarchy, called Lucifer. This Serafim and 1/3 of rebel angels were defeat by the archangel Michael and his angels legion. The battle was in the third heaven before even the man was created. Lucifer tempted Eve in the Eden's garden for revenge of his defeat, Adan acept the knowledge of the good and bad "eating the apple" and than the Sin came to the world and the man became mortal. By Adam we are mortals by the second Adam, Jesus the Christ and his sacrifice all men can be imortals again.

@@TouchyReactionswe are in a spiritual warfare since the beginning of man, Lucifer convinced man that Satan (same name of this falling Serafim), that he don't exist, the majority of people don't understand this spiritual warfare and fall in a deception. The church usually don't relate Lucifer = Satan and talk about Satan as an angel, is false he was a Serafim the highest hierarchy of the angels, because the church want we atay in ignorance. The hierarchy is: Thrones are near to God to protect the altar of the third heaven, than came the Serafim witch Lucifer was belong, than the archangels with Micheal, Raphael and Daniel than came the angels in the low level of the hierarchy. The falling angels were the angels that Lucifer convinced to join him against God. What was the problem that began in the heaven war that's the question. The problem was that God said to Lucifer, He want to creat the man on earth in own image and Lucifer must have the responsibility to serve and protect this new creation. Lucifer said, how can I serve an inferior living carnal creature, I don't acept that I deserve more than that I'm the most important here after You. So the Sin began in heaven with the rebel Lucifer and his superiority feeling against God. So God creat man with the free arbitrium, and let Lucifer tempted, Adam chosed the law of Lucifer, that's why when we born already belongs to the Serafim unless we are baptized in Jesus Chist, but not enough during life, we must have to know the right tools to win this spiritual warfare.
