My Funny Valentine This is my 140th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this. I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 75 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story. We are not only hearing it, but we are also feeling each word as though she were singing to each of us individually. She is the only one in this universe that is capable of making us feel the true emotion of this ballad. There is no way to explain this gift that has been given to the universe, does she even know, or understand the power she encompasses?

What is she going to sound like at 20- 25...?? Well I think it safe to say she will be one of the greatest Divas that have ever touched foot on this planet. This cover is said by many long time producers, musicians to be the best rendition of this timeless Classic ever sung and I agree!

This is vocal perfection of my favorite song by Angelina. The only thing that could make this any better is to see her singing it. I have to close my eyes for this one in order to totally concentrate on the sound. There isn't another version of this classic jazz standard that I've heard that even comes close to this. Brit Your comment about her beauty was never more apparent than at the FIFA awards. When she stood up from the piano it was if the goddess of song has arrived. She was so statuesque, so elegant, so classy, so just drop dead beautiful it was breathtaking. She owned the stage at that point. You couldn’t take your eyes off of her. And yet with her voice, took a mediocre sports anthem and turned it into a really great number. You can see why Redone wrote the song with her in mind because without her it would barely be listenable. If you haven’t I highly recommend going to the FIFA YT channel and watch her performance. It starts around the 1:23 mark.

That she can sing to beat the band, is a musical prodigy, AND is a beautiful young woman just means she's the "full package".

If she were to sing this live on stage in a red gown, white gloves, and her hair up....the internet would have melted. Last year, i probably listened to this 100x in the first week or so. She has a tictok of her singing "Into my arms" in this fashion.

Britt, I feel absolutely the same way you do. She is unbelievably beautiful but I feel confident that her extreme talent will prevail. I honestly have never experienced such a talent in my 77 years. I fell deeply in love with her talent when I heard her rendition of “I Who Have Nothing” (at 6 years old) and “I Put a Spell on You” (at 9 years of age). What a blessing this young artist is to the world. BTW, I so enjoy your reactions to Angelina.

And this very performance happens to be on second place on my favorite Angelina performance list. On my list it is only surpassed by her cover of Lauren Daigle's "You Say", which she performed on her PPV digital Christmas concert 2021, at age 15. Poolhallshark, you are absolutely right, “You Say” and “My Funny Valentine” are absolutely incredible and deserve to be at the top. The only problem I have is that I honestly feel, as I write this, I could play her originals and I could easily move “Million Miles” and “7th Heaven” into the same spots. What a delightful dilemma (❤️). I don’t know what is in the water you drink in Norway but you have incredible number of exceptional artist come from your country. Thank you so very much. ❤️

Yes, Angelina's vocal abilities continue to grow, likely to reach new highs that we can't even imagine. She had had just turned 16 here, posted on Instagram on Valentine's day 2022. If you want to see how her vocal ability has developed over the previous 6 years, there is a rendition she did age 10, sitting in a chair (like one you might find in that shop) in Oslo, just with her grandma using a phone I think as it was part of a live stream.. The vocals aside, the delivery, in terms of emotional expression, the early performance can't be out done. I imagine that grandma is her funny valentine. This is a classic song performed by so many artists over the years and glad to see Angelina putting her style to it🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

"Suspicious Minds" was also filmed in that location.

The difference with AJ re her stunning looks vs her singing talent is she has close to 200 performances already out there to be enjoyed beginning when she was a toddler. They are totally flawless and magical and predate her physical beauty developing. I dont know of any other female or male famous artist with a portfolio of performances BEFORE they so called "made it big" like Angelina has. Wonderful reaction Britt.

I like your reactions, but I’m always surprised when you say you don’t know many of these classic songs that Angelina sings. It makes me feel old. But this classic jazz song has been covered by hundreds of vocalists, yet we still get a stunning, original take from AJ. She is so good in so many genres, but her jazz chops were there from the crib, it seems. Angelina undoubtedly likes to play diva, some videos on TikTok made by her, which I remember also has an aesthetic talent, where she doesn't sing, but shows herself, are better than the advertisements of the big fashion houses. Which I imagine would do anything to have her as a model. In the entertainment world, appearance is sometimes worth more than ability, and the problem you pose at the end, the one that runs the risk of being looked at more for beauty than for singing, is real. P.S. I hope Angelina will use her beauty to spread her art and her oft-repeated message of a loving world, which I believe, she would be the best ambassador for.
