My Funny Valentine This is my 142th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this. I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 75 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story. We are not only hearing it, but we are also feeling each word as though she were singing to each of us individually. She is the only one in this universe that is capable of making us feel the true emotion of this ballad. There is no way to explain this gift that has been given to the universe, does she even know, or understand the power she encompasses?

I've never liked this song....until Angelina sang it. I love this version. That last section makes the hair on my arms stand up and goosebumps arise. You're right, she just keeps getting better.

She released this for Valentine’s Day 2022, so she had just turned 16 then. One reason I love this so much is because it’s as though she took all her specialties, put them in a basket, and took them out one by one and used them in this song. Yes, a masterpiece! You also should watch her video of this song at age 10. It’s precious and heartwarming!

In this song she chooses to greatly reduce the heavy vocal fry. She sings with the rich vintage sound of the great jazz singers of the 1950s. Those of us that have followed her for nearly a decade and realised way back then that this girl is something special and is going to be a phenomenal singer when she grows up.... now see every expectation realised and surpassed.

She did a recording of this at 10 years old. It's not as polished as this version. People say she sings all these songs so effortlessly and this is true but in her version at 10 years you can see she puts a lot of effort Into it. It is quite reemarkable !!!

I think to say that a song has been covered over 600 times by every jazz artist says everything about this song. Angelina’s version is largely based upon the Ella Fitzgerald version, which also isn’t surprising, because Billie Holiday may have been a major influence on Angelina, but she went to school on Ella Fitzgerald, and she got an A+.

Hi Mr. Boyd, correct me if I am wrong, but I think it is in this song that she performs her best high register which she apparently found and perfected. It is so crystal clear and smooth at the same time. What a wonderful introduction to her full voice and her mastery at phrasing. Love it!! I hope she includes this in her upcoming album, it is that good.

There is an earlier cover of this by her where she sings the intro part of the song. But her physical and vocal maturity in this one, along with the stunning setting/video, make this absolutely magical!

Her mom Sara was concerned here about how Angelina is perceived by the viewing, listening audience. She was fully aware that Angelina's beauty and 'sultry' style of singing this song could very well be misinterpreted. She decided to overdub the visuals so that she would be perceived simply as a young girl in a state of daydreaming as she meanders through an antique furnishing establishment, bringing with it no possible connotations concerning those of a sexual related nature.
