Magic, simply magic. Angelina Jordan Astar is unlike any other vocalist in my 63 years and she just keeps improving. I am sure I have heard this performance around 100 times and it still blows me away. Angelina as a person, has inspired me, along with many others to try and do better and improve this world as best we can. Here in music reaction world on KZread, we have a great start making it a much better place and we invite you, Asia and BJ, to join. The child is simply a singing and musical prodigy. That is the only explanation for her voice and style. I am no expert in the singing world, I am simply a 74 year old woman who loves this young womans voice.

She can sang,love to here her, amazing!

Her cover of Mercy is the official opening soundtrack for a new movie called The Hating Game and she does Duffy proud! It's not "just" Angelina's voice that make her the greatest vocalist on the planet. She does have an amazing voice, but so do many other singers. Angelina has a combination of qualities that come together in a complete package. First is her "angelic" personality that leaves you no choice but to fall in love. Then you learn of her story and you fall deeper in love. Then of course you have her model worthy beauty to admire. Lets not forget her musical intelligence from years of dedicated study. Then she starts singing. Every note has a purpose. Every word helps to define the lyrics. Not too much vocal gymnastics. Just the right amount, in the right places. Thats where technique steps in and she is a master at vocal technique. Light and airy to powerful exclamations. From breath control, gorgeous runs, vocal frys and humming that perfectly extends a note without any use of energy. Then comes in her beautiful empathetic soul that grabs you by the heart string and makes you feel. Simply feel. I've heard folks say this singer or that has a prettier voice. Eh, maybe, but not one of them can bring Billie Holliday, Etta James, and Frank Sinatra back to life like AJ. Then turn around and sing Disco from Gloria Gaynor, slay James Brown like she was born in Motown. Side step and kill a dance song like "Above the Water". Drop so low in How Great Thou Art that the speaker reverberates, and I will say it, do an icon like Adele, better then Adele...live...one take...less then a day from hearing it. Then, and there is a ton more, make you wish you were her not so pretty or smart Valentine, if only for one day.

You guys should check out Angelina practicing with the band (same band as “I Put A Spell on You”) “Portrait of a Man”. Same as I Put A Spell on You, she does the Screaming Jay Hawkins version. She's amazing.

Even though we have seen Angelina in 150 other songs, there is still this element of disbelief "is this real ? Can someone really sing like this ?". I am puzzled every single time, and this song makes me think that there is no way she will not conquer the world very soon....

May I please make a comment.. .Question:. In all of the songs that she sings, from a very early age to the present, does Angelina understand the songs that she sings...witness her singing "Summertime," for example. This is a very old and difficult song to sing and yet she sings it beautifully as well as her other songs like "Yellow Brick Road," "Suspicious Minds," etc. To answer the question. Yes, she does understand the songs that she sings which is why it sounds so very personal and so wonderful to listen to...(Frank Sinatra had this same singing quality that sounded like he was singing only to you)...She is a wonderful gift to the world....God bless Angelina !....

Angelina is just amazing. I am ready every single time, but even though I'm ready in every song she sings there is a moment or two or three where I get chills and goosebumps all over. Never fails. Great reaction as always, so thank you guys for that. By now we all know how amazingly gifted she is, so I was going to comment on something different. I wish that the up and coming coming artist, as well as many of the current superstars would go back to what Angelina has always done, and that is focus on the music. Angelina doesn't need a big production, does need to sell how she looks or have people bouncing around i skimpy clothing. Her videos are minimalistic by design. When Angelina sings, it is all about the music. If there is a video, its only there to help tell a story. She is just total class, an incredible Musician, absolutely timeless in her sound, incredibly creative in her arrangements and her gift is undeniably beautiful. I dont know how popular she will be. She has never been someone to follow main stream, to gain popularity. She doesn't have to. All she needs is somewhere to put a microphone and start singing. Actually she doesn't even need the microphone (LOL)) Once she does, you are hooked, and she just takes control of your sole. To me she is the youngest old school singer that I have ever heard. I always feel like she was born 75 years to late. Back then music was still about musicality. Something that since has long been lost. Maybe she can help keep those olden days alive, maybe not, either way she will go down as one of the most amazing singers to ever perform, because a gift like hers cant be held back, no matter what the music industry feels. is or isn't star quality.

She incorporates, with her own personal style of singing jazz, the breathy, sensual releases by Billie Holiday, then goes all the way over to the furthest opposite end of the jazz spectrum, where Amy Winehouse resided as the most uniquely different jazz singer of all time, and brings into the song 'raw' inflections like 'slurring' words for effect, and radical 'key' changes withing specific lines of the song which was another hallmark of Amy's style of jazz. This intricate, complex form of weaving all three artists into a tapestry, that no individual singer has ever done, is what we get here. Add in the visuals that center on her 'Persian Princess' eyes and we are totally mesmerized. When 'Alexander The Great' conquered the known world he took as his bride a Persian Princess named Roxanne who was the daughter of the Persian King he just defeated. Had Alexander been able to hear Angelina's angelic vocals, and taken in the full beauty before him , there's no way Roxanne would not have been replaced by Angelina as his Queen.

@@rayjennings3637 Would love for someone to interview her grandmother Mery Zamani which is , of course, where Angelina became indoctrinated by the greats of yesteryear. She must have cataloged an unbelievable amount of vocal memories from artists too numerous to mention and then whenever the urge arises in her, out comes a specific artist's nuance and/or inflections. Her being a natural 'vocal chameleon' does help, as well.

We haven't heard your reaction to her latest covers. But she's just released a new original song from her upcoming album. Please react to Love Don't Let Me Go just released May 5th.
