Keep your entire body in it, aligned, take your time but don’t hesitate, never forget your intention and consistently continue to fuel that intention with your willpower in every moment you feel yourself forgetting or slipping. When you feel that burn, that pain, trying to convince you that’s it heavier and stronger than your brainpower. That’s when you smile, enter NIRVANA, and PUSH.

my son boxes he is 16 years old and nothing i do is building up his stamina to help him when he is sparring or in his amateur fight when he gets tired he just stands on the ropes and take hits until he feels like punching again any tips

  • @PhilDaruStrong

If he’s 16 years old I would look at building his efficiency. This will take some time but increasing his skills and monitoring his output in the sparring will help you improve his sport specific conditioning. As far as his physiology goes I would need to do a deeper dive into his issues but for the most part look to build his aerobic cacpacity and muscular endurance with both cyclical and a-cyclical training methods. I have tons of content on this just search on my channel for protocols.

What I think he's referring to is his efficiency at the sport. I work with kids and teens in boxing and whenever I see what you're describing, it's usually a technique problem more than a fitness problem. They're not relaxed enough throwing, they get too tense, they're not exhaling well when they throw, they're too bouncy, too jittery and waste a lot of energy, and they may be bad at picking shots and managing their energy load. Watch for all of those and design boxing drills to address them.
