Well done mate. It's real hard, but you get used to it. Many bodybuilders wouldn't humble themselves like you did. Respect. 👍

I've watched both of these men, been inspired by them both for a long time, and this collaboration really was an awesome thing to see. Jonni was willing to take on a challenge that he knew would humble him, and he didn't hide any of the struggle. It's some hard work. I'm a judoka and former wrestler, we had some tough training, but nowhere near this. Lots of respect for even being willing to do it! Keep rocking it, gentlemen, you're inspiring a lot of people.

Strong work, sir! Also, as someone that has been training martial athletics for close to 40 years, it's amazing to see the development of training techniques over the decades. I believe martial arts has developed more in the last 20 years that the last 200... at least

Will implement the breath hold right away before tomorrow’s session! Thanks for that! What do you think of doing Wim Hof breathing before training / a fight. Spikes adrenaline and also maybe has the effect of the body adaption anerobically ?!

It could be done for those that have a personality that is more calm in nature and neee to get a boost but for the most part we want to improve the ability to cope with air hunger and increase a respiratory function.

Can you link to the research behind your breath holding warmup stuff? If you don't have that, or even if you do, can you share how you chose to replace more mainstream warmup with that? I know what the panic of being exhausted and having someone smothering me feels like and appreciate the training-- I just imagine that there's a reason why you open like that, and I'm curious how you came by it

  • @PhilDaruStrong

It’s only a small part of my warmup and if you caught what I said in the beginning it’s to help improve his ability to cope with air hunger this is a form of Buteyko Method, developed by Ukrainian doctor Konstantin Buteyko in the 1950s, then taken to the next level with Patrick Mckeown of Oxygen Advantage. These techniques are rooted in the idea that by improving your body’s tolerance to carbon dioxide (CO2), you can enhance sports performance, overall fitness, and health. You can find most research on scientific journals on the effectiveness of breath holds for performance and health. Check out this website to find them… oxygenadvantage.com/science/holding-your-breath-benefits/

@@PhilDaruStrong Thanks for responding! I think that speaks to your character! I'm not trying to make more of it than it was, and I was listening. You've struck me as someone who understands the quality of data, and that's why I asked! Full discretion: On it's face, that address is something that I would be suspicious of-- but what it links to is what really matters. Again, you've struck me as legit. I'm sure you know more than I do about the minefield of breathwork, all things breath related and co2 levels-- but it is vast and I am keen to find good data! I can't wait to check it out! Thanks for genuinely caring about what you do and produce! I look forward to what's next
