Bio -
Phil Daru is the Head trainer for some of the top athletes in the world and creator of Daru Strong Training Systems and founder of Daru Strong Performance Center. Daru has degrees in sports medicine and exercise science from Alabama State University where he played division 1 football. Holding certifications with Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) Functional Range Movement Specialist (FRCms) and Kabuki Movement Specialist (NSCA-KMS).
Daru then began a career in MMA and turned professional at 21 years old where he then developed his own systems for training fighters. Daru has also competed in strongman, bodybuilding, and Bjj Gi and No Gi and currently competes in powerlifting. He has worked with well over 200 plus fighters including world champions like Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza, Junior Dos Santos, Frankie Edgar, Tecia Torres, King Mo Lawal, Andrei Arlovski and many others. Coach Daru is a two time award winning Trainer of the Year for the Florida MMA Awards and Nominated for the Trainer of the Year for the World MMA Awards. He has been globally recognized for his contributions in combat sports performance and has traveled to over 10 countries teaching and mentoring.     For distance running I would look at any of the New Balance, Brooks, or Hoka running shoes for general training I prefer a wide toe box minimalistic shoe like Vivobarefoot

    Just looking out for you. Do yoga class each night the most basic relaxing breathing type yoga. That will save your hamstrings and tendons. I swear on everything brotha. Like the yoga classes that more then likely you might be the only dude but they are great classes period for injury prevention. Us guys just sleep on it for no reason.

    Both are beneficial, as Muay Thai is both aerobic & anaerobic in nature. Long-term, your programming should incorporate both at some point or another.

    Plus you need to build up a base, and the way you do that is long slow runs. One mile runners, train with 6 mile runs

Do you have any advice on how to stay less injured as I’m seriously thinking of jumping on some peds as I can’t be fucked with the time it takes me to get back sharp again.

    @@thedarkestsummer absolutely true for the arm on the same side of the leg. It’s standard in Muay Thai . I was referring to the opposite arm. So if you kick with the right, don’t drop your left arm.
