Toyota has stated previously that it plans to eventually build an electric pickup truck, and now we have further proof that this model could soon become reality. This concept car, revealed during Toyota's presentation about its future EV plans, looks remarkably close to production and is exactly what you would imagine a Toyota EV truck to look like.
The next 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD will hit the markets next fall, with new colors, a slightly altered appearance, and a reworked suspension system. Toyota is the market leader in the mid-size class, and the Tacoma TRD appears to be a significant upgrade over the current model.
When compared to the previous model, this truck seems slightly higher and has new wheels. The Trail Edition, which is a bit more aggressive than the TRD, should be available as well. Furthermore, both versions will be available for purchase next year, most likely in early fall.
Because of a design that mixes usefulness and rugged sportiness, the impending 2023 Tacoma TRD looks better than ever. Every aspect of this truck is intriguing. The Tacoma has a more commanding front end than the previous model, thanks to a revised grille and the same modern headlights.
The new model is significantly more expensive than the previous generation, and it comes with all-new wheels. Notably, according to our sources, it will share a new platform with the full-size Tundra. The Toyota Tacoma is positioned below the Tundra truck and alongside competitors such as the Chevy Colorado and Ford Ranger in terms of proportion.
The interior of the 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD is just as appealing as that of its predecessor. Toyota attempts to make adjustments to this version in order to make it more comfortable. The passenger layout remains, while the TRD Pro model is likely to accommodate five people. Legroom and headroom are usually adequate for backseat occupants.
The latest Tacoma has 42.6 inches of legroom, which is more than sufficient. The TRD model will have more premium materials and more standard features. This includes the coming of a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with Wi-Fi and the most recent phone integrations.
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD will use the same engine option as the Trail Edition. According to the current information, both models will use the same 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 280 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.
This engine is reasonably powerful, as predicted, and is mated to a six-speed automated transmission. On the other hand, we appreciate the choice of a six-speed manual transmission. Because of the engines mentioned above, both models can haul about 6500 pounds.
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD will be available in the market in 2022. Both the TRD Pro and Trail Edition are only available in Double Cab configurations and will receive considerable modifications prior to market release. Prices will be slightly higher, most likely starting at above $45,000.

I wonder if the new engine will be 2.7 twin turbo 4 cylinder DI, I hope they will do both DI and PFI just like the new Tundra. If they do, then I’m ordering one for me.

I wouldn't consider a Tacoma without a stick. Driving a Toyota truck without a stick is like having a d1ck without b@lls
I totally disagree with the head room, and I am short. It needs a lot more head room. And it would help to have the driver’s seat raise up.

Its a mid size truck not a full size truck, if you need more interior space elevate to the full size truck, Tundra, Ford Raptor, enough said.
With fuel prices skyrocketing and new EV pickups coming out soon Toyota better let US buyers have a fuel efficient pickup if they want to compete

Sad part is they have the most fuel efficient longest lasting diesel trucks on the planet but the US won’t let us have them.

If they follow the design suit, I’ll resemble the next 4Runner. Just hope it’s not too far out. The 2.4 turbo is replacing the six, and going into the 4Runner. I was hoping for the inline from the Supra. Hope and reality are not the same.

@@Brop3z The pickup EV design is a very good idea of the 2024 ICE version (920B) due in 24 months, which I have already seen a fiberglass buck and CADs. I am only here to debunk BS, since most under NDA won't. My issue here is, this video is chock full of additional nonsense unneeded to get the main point across. Misinformation does not help.

Gee these trucks keep getting uglier with each redesign! Now it looks exactly like a little smaller version of the Tundra. No separate design cues of it's own.
