That's crazy about the wheels and lug nuts. I've changed all my lug nuts recently at the advice of a friend. Love this guy really uses his truck and drives it EVERYWHERE!

+1 on the slider first rec. I ALWAYS recommend them as the first upgrade. Barring a severe accident, of course, but rather trail damage. Toughest damage to fix is rocker damage. In extreme cases it requires a new cab. You don't wanna go through that.

The king bed is 6ft compared to the regular 5ft

I like Elko out of Canada as they use salt in winter and their materials are more resistant to salt. I’m looking at them because I live in Honolulu and would drive on the beach in salty sand and live near the ocean.

I just got a 2023 Tacoma Trail Edition 2 weeks ago and i junked my 99 4runner and i had 102,346 miles on it but due to left front axle broken off i was about to get a Tacoma with a long bed and they told me at the dealership that it would of cost more oh well i’m grateful and satisfied with my tacoma.

How does the long bed with a tire rack do in a town setting? Do you feel like it’s too long to drive there, or can you handle it with no problem? I want to get a long bed taco but I’m worried about it being too long.

I hear you. I have a 2018 Tacoma Sport with 33' KO2s and Gear rims and it's lifted, but this truck makes mine look like a Tonka Toy. LOL. I have the short bed, but wish I'd gotten the long bed but at the same time, it's be very tough to fit inside my garage.

Full size Tacoma bed all the way! Don’t be discouraged by the length. It’s not as long as most popular versions of the Silverado, Ram or F150. So, you might have to park further out in the lot and get a few more steps in but it’s not outrageous unless you’re sleeping/parking overnight IN the city (SF, LA, NYC) then it’s more difficult to manage. If you’re driving through and parking here and there on your way to sleeping in the suburbs then you’re fine. Also, if you live IN the city but you’re in Dallas, KC, Denver, Houston, etc. then you’re fine. Those places work much better with full length pickups. I’ve got a full size bed Tacoma (no tire rack or front bumper/winch setup) and I was also concerned as it didn’t quite fit in the garage but it’s been easier than I imagined.

I had no issues with mine . I lived in CA. Spent weeks in SD , LA , Sf. Etc. Had to go slow sometimes or have my wife spot me but no issues

The payload rating on a Tacoma TRD off-road is about 1,100 lbs. That truck is way overloaded. It's scary to see people ignore those ratings and build trucks that endanger the rest of us on the road.

Look. I'm just going to speak practically here. How many of you fools are just concerned about how it looks, and not the practicality of the build? Bothers me seeing some of you building your tonka toy, knowing that you'll never use half of what you're strapping on to your truck. But hey, it looks good.

Must be nice to be wealthy and just rebuild your truck whenever you want.

I'm a mechanic, been a mechanic for many years. I'm not wealthy, but work and play hard AF! If you want it you just have to hustle hard. No excuses and don't hate. Figure your sh*t out. I'm sure you can, just step out your comfort zone and go for it.
