Really doesn't matter what the other makers come up with. They all have reliability issues. Toyota is King of reliability.

I just bought a 2023 trd sport my second one. I put a lot of miles on my other one with absolutely no problems at all. These trucks are very well built and very dependable.

Untill they come out with a boosted setup, yeah Toyota definitely does their turbo setups better than most other manufacturers but they're not reliability issue proof either... Time will tell, I just kno my 🛻💨 was like the 6th or 7th year making the same shit so I'm hoping mine is going to be pretty solid. The new Tacoma is even going to have a plastic 🛢️ pan 🤦 how do you guys like those 🍎

@@dougtroutman5695 what year? & set-up was your other sport truck? Did you use it off-road often or mostly just on 🛣️ was it 4X4, or 2 wheel drive? & how often did you do your oil change?? How many miles when you traded it in? I picked up a '22 4X4 off-road 6-speed manual I changed my transmission fluid with amsoil at 2,500 mi & had a lot of metal in the 🛢️ when we looked at it with a 🔦 I can't believe they want you to wait like 30-50K, I don't even kno what the manual says I just do it when I feel like it. Lol 1st 🛢️ change was @ 545 my it needed it and s oil change at 2,500 when I did the transmission that one did not need it but at least I know my engine is broken in perfectly.

Mitsubishi will give Toyota a challenge for best reliability if they release their US L200 truck in 2024.

Unfortunately not when it comes to the Tacoma. It’s been a huge disappointment in reliability and the fact it’s manufactured in Mexico has made things worse. I’m hoping they get better but it certainly has not upheld the Toyota reliability mantra.
I have a V6 4x4 2009 Tacoma with over 300,000 miles on it and it runs perfectly, uses no oil. It is used for forestry work so it sees quite a bit of off-road use. Other than regular maintenance, I’ve only had to replace wheel bearings. That’s why they’ve been the best selling midsize truck for so long. They just keep going and save you money and headaches over the long term.

My '01 4Runner with 3.4L V6 is still going strong. For simplicity and long-term durability, I'd prefer a naturally-aspirated V6 over anything turbocharged. 'Looks like those days are ending, with automakers being forced to prioritize maximum fuel economy (which I don't).

Great looking truck! i`m a Toyota owner for over 33 yrs. with no major or {minor} problems to really mention. Low cost to maintain over time, I will never change driving or owning a Toyota truck! When you drive one you will not change either, drive one!
Good to see you again😃 God Bless You 🥰😇 Keep up the great work 👍
This is why I'm buying a 2023. I still want my naturally aspirated V6 engine option.

Good seeing you again! You're videos are legit.
Can’t wait to see how it really look. I really like the new look.. I want a smaller truck, my 2021 tundra is little bit too big to find a parking in the city
Would really like to see the 4.0 litter as an option.
I think a 6 cylinder diesel tacoma would be cool
I’m excited and can’t wait, thanks for sharing.
The best part of this video is that it confirmed the future Ford Ranger Raptor, thank you!
Great presentation. Brief, relevant and to the point. Thank you!
Only thing you need to know is like almost all 2023 pickups, they are too F'ing expensive....
At the Chicago Auto Show I was told there will be a press release for this truck on or around April 5, 2023 by a Toyota rep.
I just bought a 2022 tacoma a few months ago (my first vehicle) and it’s awesome!
Planning to buy a truck this year but I'll pass on turbos. Looks like I'll be getting a Frontier.
Nice looking truck, very reliable
so how exactly will a cap mount to the new 2024 with that rear cab spoiler ?
Hopefully Toyota finally puts disc brakes on the rear. Tacoma is the only truck in Toyotas lineup with rear drum brakes. The competition has been using 4 wheel disc brakes for years now.
The less "electronics" & the less "turbos" the MORE reliable it's going to be.. I bought a 22 Tacoma six-speed manual because I wasn't even sure if the 23 was going to be a V6 so it's the last, I believe the Tacoma is one of those 🛻💨 you don't realize how good it was until it's gone.
I have my 2003 Tacoma and it has 360,000 miles on it. Still runs like a champ
The new Tundra have issues still ? Wast gate or whatever it was.
If it does not come with a manual transmission they can keep it...
I will never get a 4cyl tacoma with this new engine. 6 cylinder all the way
Will it have a manual transmission
It'll be interesting to see what type of MPG's the turbo 2.7 will get if that is indeed what they offer.

Awesome I need one
I still own my 2012 Tacoma and it runs like a dream…I’d upgrade to the 2024 if it’s that different. Love the one I have though.
I have a 2016 trd sport with 58,000 miles on it, with zero problems(knock on wood). If the 2024 trd sport would give me better mpg I would replace mine in a heartbeat. Excelente video

Hopefully, the new gen of 4Runner will be launched in 2024, but I wanna see a V6 turbo engine on it.
Wonder if it it will still have rear drum brakes and leaf springs.
Lost all interest as soon as I heard that turbo4 was replacing the V6
Im hoping the power numbers are the same if not better than the chevys. hp and torque need to be above 300+ on all models except for the basic work truck trim.
Toyota is the best, they last more and no issues
Was time for an update. Tons of used ones not selling
I am hoping for hybrid in terms of gas mileage rather than power but way he explained sounds like power unfortuately. Only way to replace my 2007 Tacoma with 300K+ miles is with hybrid with beyond better mpg. I will lose 5mpg with lift, bigger tires, winch etc. so hoping for at least 30ish+ mpg. Electric is not a good option for extended overlanding or off roading for now.
Is it true that this new iteration of tacoma will not be available in a manual transmission at all?
@jmin8400

V6 only.😉
When is 24 Taco available
Why is a standard transmission not predicted? Wondering why Toyota may not offer this option?

@usmcvet0313

@@winny6673 yea, that is the draw back. Though nothing says you couldn't put a manual transmission behind an electric motor. The torque would make up for the fun factor. They just need to quit wasting time with plug in batteries, and go with an on board generator that you can fill at the gas station.
Really like the electric look

Lost me when u said Large Screen as if thats something important to us Toyota lovers. Real off roaders install their own 12-14 inch tablet style with real trail maps. Not a subscription screen like the Tundras 😂. You couldve mentioned skid plate, Fender Flares, Forged wheels or something

Dude, exactly. Toyota seems to only care about interior looks and gimmicks and completely forgot about the truck part. Look at the Tundra now. What a pos.
I wonder if they fixed the Driver Seating Position? The Current Tacoma Driver Seating Position is a little Uncomfortable.
@danielkim3202
Жыл бұрын
I have heard this, but can you explain how or why it is uncomfortable?
@pacificdragon1
Жыл бұрын
@@danielkim3202 it might be different for other people, but for me the seat is too low and my legs are outstretched in front almost locking the knees. If I bend the knees into a natural sitting position they are up against the steering column. I suppose if you have shorter legs it might be fine.
The guys who write this stuff never mention how uncomfortable the Tacoma seating is for anybody who's over 6 feet tall. If you're 5-7 and weigh 155 pounds this is the truck for you. If you're 6-3 and weigh 230 pounds, not so much.
Looks just like the old one

Did you ever hear of the GMC Canyon?
Just bought a 2023 two weeks ago
Unfortunately, I don't believe you have confirmation of the powertrain claim, other than one source's unverified source. It's not fully correct to my knowledge, as there's more to the lineup and Turbo 4 won't be offered in standard guide. TRD Pro is correct, but numbers are better than that. EV isn't coming either, but for Hilux only. Ranger isn't available until August, but production start is July.

@Ferko Well, let's see here. They lost almost two billion dollars in three months. They're about to have a big layoff. They're not hitting production targets, they're stock is falling. In fact, they're currently at a 52-week low. Several top executives have left the company. The company canceled production for most of their vehicle models. And they're on track for bankruptcy.
hopefully this generation will have more OOMF with the acceleration and not feel like a grandma truck.

With those engine options it will drop a bit in sales. Needs better engine than just ooo a hybrid
Great video but Ford's killing it with the Ranger and the maverick.. My coworker traded his 2017 Tacoma for a 2019 ranger with the 4cyl turbo. Welp, he recently traded that in the 2023 v6 Ranger, it looks really sharp in some kinna calgary blue color.. I picked up my first Tundra (2019 1794 4x4) in the summer of 2020. Couldn't have timed the market any better but I also own two 4runners (96 Ltd w/rear locker and a 05 V8 ltd w/xreas height ride). I think the new Tacoma will have to do better on the engine configuration. They should scrap anything turbo an keep it simple with a more powerful V6 & transmission, V6 hybrid with optionas for a more powerful hybrid system.. I want a new SUV and I'm looking @ that Rivian R1S but I'm waiting a few more yrs for perfection. If I can buy a V6 hybrid (50-70kwh hybrid system) 4runner, I'd buy one tomorrow..
Sure hope they do something with their current shitty transmission
they should make diesel like Toyota Hilux Diesel 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Refined, not radically different. That is Toyota.
17 yrs for a reason. Reliability
Will this new 2024 model come in a long bed .
Want the 4cyl Diesel
Will come in over 100,000 sticker price.
Make interior larger in back , 6ft bed
I really hope they don’t go electric for the Tacoma
Never been a fan of turbo engines they just don't last as long s most people don't know how to drive manual they probably won't have a manual sad.

If no manual I'm not buying. Will just keep my 2008 Taco and get a new car, probably a Honda Civic with a manual to go back and forth to work. Love my manuals!
I highly doubt the turbo 4's in the other trucks will get as good of MPG as the current 3.5l with mine getting 24.9 doing 72mph on highway. If u stay away from the Bro Dozer AT tires they are actually pretty quick and efficient.
A house or a truck? I'll go with the house since I can spread out more...price and cost to purchase and to heat/cool will be about the same. Eventually cities may ban living in cars/trucks...
consumer reports doesnt like the new turbos in these
How much for the tacoma?
I still hope that the six gen 4Runner will still be built in Japan and not in Mexico, Canada or Texas.
Toyota needs to drastically increase the space and comfort level in the cabin. It also needs smarter storage options. Ridgeline beats the piss out of it currently. Such smarter design choices.

Doesn't matter to me what the domestics do, my next vehicle will be a Tacoma
It doesn't matter if Chevy or Ford up their game as all I look for is reliability. It is why the tacoma has always been on top. A tacoma will outlive other trucks if it is maintained. Ford and chevy can't compete on that.
I think I like the 2023 better
Happy 34th Anniversary to Shining Time Station (1/29/2023) 35th Anniversary (1/29/2024)
Would never buy a GM ,CHEVY OR A FORD ...those 3 are what you really see road side broke down...got a 2022 Tacoma 3rd Gen and don't regret it one bit....
Nissan ready to copy the designs to create the perfect clone
The Bottton line is price, more and more people are getting priced out because of GREED.
Chevy and Ford have mid-size entries in the market, regrettably they are still made by GM and Ford
Too bad it doesn't have four wheel coil springs, like Ram.
No v6😢
Performance = Ranger raptor Looks = Chevy Z71 Value= frontier 4pro New EV= Tacoma Fan boys= gas taco 2024
