Here’s one that I learned about by accident… and love it! The lever under the steering wheel to adjust the steering wheel height, at the same time you can push/pull the steering wheel towards or further from you.

Here’s one I really like. While holding down on the 🔒 button part of your key fob, press the unlock button on the key fob twice. You’ll notice the red light on the fob blink 4 times. This shuts off the fob and save its battery life. And when the fob is on, it’s constantly (24-7) searching for a connection to the truck it’s set up for. So best of all since it is now turned off. car thieves can’t use a device that reads the fobs transmission from over 300ft away and download that info into a blank aftermarket fob and steal your truck.

I don't live under a rock BUT when I noticed the prices of new trucks 3 yrs. ago just before I bought my 06 Tacoma.....I was blown away. You literally have to fore go your 401K contributions just to afford a new truck. My 06 has 200,000 miles with hardly any noticeable wear and I wrote a check for it and never looked back. i'd like to thank all you guys who need new truck for helping us middle class working stiffs out with the used ones .........

I had been considering upgrading my 2015 4 cyl access cab, but you are right about the prices being crazy. I am not going to forego my retirement contributions to have a new truck. I decided that I'd rather put 5-10k into this truck to get a few more years out of it (only 70k miles). I repainted all black trim, installed new bumpers, new carplay head unit, new wheels and bigger tires. Moving onto the interior next. Already feels like a new truck, and there is no payment to be made.

Used ones don't feel much better in price. Still 20k for an 8 year old truck with over 150k miles. Yes, I know they can go 500k, but you don't know the history of the previous owners maintenance. Used truck prices may get worse if they have trouble selling new trucks at the rate they used to.

@@livingsimpleandfun9812 Payed 30 for an 8 year old tacoma 4×4 v6 6' bed but it only had 53,000 miles and it was dealer maintained so I saw the records. Still way to much for an 8 year old truck, at least it has low milage.

@@PHUCKyoutube689 yeah, my budget is under 20k but still hoping for a 2016+ next year. I hope things don't get too crazy. There are where I want them right now but work they would get a little lower. 16k would be a dream because I expect to sell my old truck for 16-18k and with a down payment it will lower my monthly, as well as my gas usage.

Best of the Unknown features. I use Cruise control all the time but hate that when you get behind a slower car it automatically decreases your speed and then speeds up once you get around the slower car. So if you hold the cruise control button down a few seconds it puts you into regular CC and no longer slowing down and then speeding up.

Thanks for the tip about the rear headrests fitting into the seat when it is folded forward. The manual said that they would do that but I could not get them to fit. After watching you insert them into the seat I pushed them right in. Marvelous.

If you leave the bed light switch in the middle so it activates with the doors, instead of leaving it on and letting the rundown prevention turn it off, you can change the delay for the lights in the infotainment system. It does keep the cab lights on also but you can change it from a few seconds to several minutes if I remember.

Don’t worry, give it time, and the many sounds of your squeaking, rattling dash will drown out your rear seatbelts anyway. I’m a Toyota guy, but my 2016 has the noisiest dash I’ve ever heard, starting from 20,000 kms, and twice as bad when it’s cold in winter. If you’re bothered by sounds, get ready to go insane, or leave the stereo up. Lol

Several of your tips apply to my Tundra. The rear seat belt clip is on my Tundra. The cup holder clip is also on my Tundra. The thing about Toyota is they have economy of scale. I bet if you took apart a lot of Toyota's they would all have the same door light switches and things like that. So Toyota makes somethings pretty universal. One difference is my Tundra rear seats only the bottom folds up. The top part of the seat does not fold down like the Tacoma. I have a factory box that sits under the seats that was optional. That is handy to keep things under the seats from sliding around.

On most Toyota vehicle's, the metal door latches inside the door frames can be used as a bottle opener. However, I noticed they changed the design on the 3rd gen Tundra so I wouldn't be surprised if they got rid of it on the new Tacoma also.

The 2nd gen also has a lot of these features on the interior, in fact the entire rear seat of the Tacoma is exactly the same between the 2nd and 3rd gen. Nice having the fold-down seats with the hard plastic backing for larger items. The removable cup holders and the dimmable gauge cluster were also on the 2nd gen too, just in a more basic way. Toyota really thought through the interior design even way back in 2004 when the 2nd gen Tacomas debuted.

@@tommyboy0379 Yes, since the rear seat is identical in both the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas, you still have to remove the rear headrests. Not too difficult but I can see it still being an inconvenience. Gas cap still twists off. The fuel-door is pretty much the same on the 2nd and 3rd gen. Thinking of buying a locking cap or something. Would’ve thought that the 3rd gen would have a fuel door that locks by now.

@@TJFT1234 to be honest not really sure what he meant by “old fashioned” but I just assumed he was asking if it’s just as basic as the 3rd gen is, which it is.
