I have brown leather boots I had mines professional cleaned but for whatever reason my boots had a white cast on them. Please help what could of cause them to turn like that. Was it the wax ?

Curious question.......I've watched a lot of shoe shine videos and I'm wondering why don't they polish and buff the upper part of cowboy boots?

2 reasons "I THINK" you don't polish the upper part. 1st whatever polish, wax or additive you use in the upper part will be back on your cloth in no time. 2nd, the upper part don't have much contact with the sun, wind and or dirt as the lower part. Why do I say that? I have been wearing shoes and boots for the past 50 years. Am old school who still shines his boots and shoes at home every weekend. Some other folk may have a different answer and I will respect his opinion. My daddy show me this way and I will continue to do it the same until I can.

I prefer the j toe style square toe just looks to flat for my taste and style but I do respect that every man or woman has his own or her own preference that's why there's so many boot styles out there

Now there's a master at work. There's not many professional bootblacks left that know what they're doing. I have a couple of pairs of ostrich boots I need to have worked on. I'm in Oklahoma City. I wonder if there's a good bootblack in the Cowtown area. Anyone from around here know?
