Ernie your 2 shoe shine vids are the best on youtube....its nice to see a man who obviously takes pride in his work, no matter what type of work he does....I imagine the boots didn't require a polish application, cause if they did, I'm sure you would have done it....Whenever possible Ernie, please make more videos of shoeshining....its obvious your fans love them!

Straight forward advice from a man who knows his craft. Thank you sir! I decided to look on youtube for advice on the best way to take care of my shoes and boots just in case Ive been doing something wrong since i dont do anything special or use tons of products. ive learned a few pointers but saw a lot more stuff that was complicated and unnecessary. But your videos made it clear that the good old fashioned ways really are the best afterall.

Thanks for the detailed video... I have a pair of full grain leather hiking boots that I put mink oil on today... I've never done this before today... The scuffs didn't take the mink oil with a brush, I used a clean cloth and it worked very well... thanks again...

Puro Tejano! I loved the video and it was very informative! The Icing on the cake was the great tejano music in the background! Being from the Houston area I sure do miss the Tejano music... "for those who don't know Houston doesn't have a tejano station".

Great job with cleaning and oiling the boots, that’s exactly how it should be done. Never thought of using a bit of water to seal in the oil though, that’s a good tip. Ever use grease or dubbin on boots? I typically use dubbin for my work and my hiking boots. Like it a bit better than mink oil.

Ernie have you seen or heard any comments against using Mink Oil on leather because of the silicone? Is it a bad idea to use Mink Oil over a pair of boots that have been recently treated with Obenauf's Leather Preservative grease?

+legalsolutions07 Better than Obenauf's is stuff called Garrison Gold Paste Oil on Amazon.
