That box is so fresh that just looking at it brings me back to the toys r us Barbie aisle…both sides and a glass case on the end with enchanted evening Barbie…😭😭😭

I have the original from the 60’s. It’s so pretty. Fun fact, there was two versions of enchanted evening. The first one actually has sequins and beads at the waist. The second one has a rose. I have the first version

This was a cute doll, and I had it back in the day, but I was always disappointed with it. I was big into vintage Barbie in the 90s, and these early repros just did not live up to the fabulousness of the vintage originals for me. I had a vintage Enchanted Evening fashion, and the level of finish on the original dress was just so far and above this repro, I couldn't help but be underwhelmed. Seeing your video, I'm tempted to pick up one of these and give it a 'vintage makeover', altering the dress, face paint and hairstyle to make it more closely resemble the original vintage dolls. I don't know why Mattel always takes a left turn with these dolls, and makes them so markedly different from the vintage originals we all love. They did this recently with the 75th Anniversary Silkstone #1, mainly with the doll's hair. I of course had to restyle that doll's hair, and now it looks much more like a #1, but it's always surprising to me that they haven't ever been able or willing to accurately match the sort of orange-yellow hair color of the early blonde Barbie dolls. And the rooting pattern is very different, with the doll's curly bangs falling down onto the doll's forehead, touching the brows, rather than being a clump of poodle curls at the front hairline, as the original doll had. Those early dolls had miles of forehead showing, and having the long shaggy bangs is a dead giveaway that you're looking at a repro doll, and it's such an easy thing to get right. Anyway, that's my repro rant for the day. I do have to give Mattel lots of props for making the repro fashions so extraordinary nowadays. They have come a long way from the plastic snaps and the budget fabrics of these early repros.

WOW, I purchased five reproductions on the secondary market for $50.00 (Very Obtainable) and decided to debox them and use for OOAK fashions. Enchanted Evening has thick bushie bangs so I plucked them and restyled her hair into a “side part swoosh bang”. For some reason I feel that her eyebrows are too orange (auburn) and should have been a darker shade of brown especially with the bright red lipstick. Great review as always! Stay Healthy!

This indeed is a beautiful doll i use to have her like forever ago i recently took a repro barbie whos neck opening was like modern barbies and put it on a model muse body she is my new favorite lsdy lol...thank you again for keeping us entertained i hope you are resting an as always love and peace

It’s amazing that you brought the quarantine up in your discussion. This is been such a hard time for so many people I’ve lost my mother and six friends during this time. I don’t know when things are going to come back to normal. All I know is that my dolls have been giving me a lot of comfort and lately I seem to be purchasing more of them. Thank you for the sincere acknowledgement of our current health crisis! For someone in high risk isolation, it's gestures like that that help remind us we are still all connected. ❤ I love this gal. So much more detailed with quality and care than in most Barbies made now, and yet much more affordable than so many other fashion model dolls. Do you notice that the only way to remove her necklace is by removing her head... Oh, so reminiscent of the 1960's Barbies.

I’ve got the blond years ago, she is so beautiful, really eanchanted. The dress remember a really Diva on the set during the end of 50s and the beginning of 60s Hollywood era ⭐️

I want her soooo bad I think she’s going to be the first doll in my collection I’ve been wanting to start collecting barbies for a while I want to start collecting silkstones but she is beautiful does she have the same body as silkstones? Can they share clothes ? Also can the new and old silkstones share clothes or no ?

This gorgeous doll was $20 when she came out...I bought several for $10 on clearance. I prefer the blonde, her hair is a stunning shade of white! FYI the 50th anniversary 1962 swimsuit brunette bubble cut doll comes with a much more detailed/ true-to-the original enchanted evening fashion, and is relatively inexpensive on the secondary market.

i have Enchanted Evening Barbie doll her hair is brown she missing pink dress and shoes she still have earings and nacklace and i fixed her pony tail back up now she all better she wearing anna fancy dress she got fingers nails red and her toes nails too but she still looks new so far my mom has blonde Enchanted Evening Barbie doll too i love her love David
