MARIA THERESE Barbie Doll - Barbie Signature - Review

Ойын-сауық

Something borrowed, something blue! I'm deboxing and reviewing Maria Therese Barbie doll who was part of the 2002 Barbie Fashion Model Collection (BFMC) for Barbie Signature.
I'm going into the archives to relive the BFMC glory days. Maria Therese has been on my WANT list for a long time and I'm thrilled to finally have her. She is true bridal exquisiteness. No fashion silliness here, just pure class and timeless glamour. Her satin wedding gown, mid length veil and sweet little bouquet are true Barbie glamour. If you love bridal dolls and traditional women's fashion, this doll is a must for you.

LOVED your review, and your sweet homage to little Suresh. I'm a huge fan of bride dolls, as well. I especially enjoy any opportunity to see vintage bridal wear and pour over photos to see the tiny details! That - plus your wonderful sense of humor - make(s) your reviews so wonderful. I love seeing either vintage Babs or the Barbie Fashion Model dolls that harken back to the early days, too. By the way, you might enjoy checking out the flower called stephanotis. My mother had a bouquet of all stephanotis when she married my dad in the early 1950s! Love you xo

So so pretty. Timeless classic. Just like black n white photos. I love the dresses from the 50’s! It was a must your purse, gloves n hat had to match. And God forbid your slip or bra strap was showing! I love the tea cup length dresses n they flared out. Such class. Hugs debs dresses.

D C haha well I’m glad all that’s gone out the door as a dressing requirement and now just an option since no woman should be required to do any of those things but yes, it’s fun to see a quality reproduction of those times in Barbie form. Thanks for watching Debs

Hello dear Suresh, ur love for brides as a child is so adorable. I def agree that a good doll collection should have a good bride. The Maria Therese Bridal Barbie is elegantly pretty n I've been eyeing the Grace Kelly bride doll as I absolutely admire that classic style for bridal gowns n the Grace Kelly dress is such an iconic one. As amazing as that doll is, however, I really was looking for a bridal Barbie that appealed to me n I found the porcelain version of the 1959 Wedding Party Barbie n I fell in love. I ordered her right away n I treasure her so much. I feel the wedding gown from this exquisite porcelain reproduction was superiorly reconstructed in comparison to the original as it has stronger, yet still delicate, foundations n a longer, prominent train. I, of course, have made the doll my own by replacing certain aspects n embellishing my Barbie bride wit my own personal touches. The Grace Kelly bridal doll is still such a lovely collector's item but since I've attained the porcelain Wedding Party Barbie, my desire for a bridal doll has been pacified, for now. I'll b happy to send u some pics through Instagram as soon as I add the final touches. Hope all is well for u n urs. Cheers. +_0

March is the month of Barbie's birthday and mine too! And guess what? This extraordinary Silkstone will be the gift that I'm gonna give to myself!!! So, thank you so much for this video! Now I just can't wait to have her in my hands! And this is a very good feeling!!! She is so absolutely perfect! I love your unboxings and reviews and this one came up at the right moment! So, now, what about two other videos of two other marvelous Barbie brides? I'm talking about 2005 Caroline Herrera's and the fabulous 2007 Reem Acra Barbie Bridal. I think they could be very good subjects! What do you think? Once again, thank you very much for the video and sorry for my English! It's not good enough, I know!😕😊💕

So the ribbons on a bridal bouquet have a traditional meaning. Traditionally they would be cut to just tip the ground as the bride walked down the isle so long as they didn’t trip her up, and they represent the long life together the couple hoped to have. Often the ribbons were satin and were tied into several tiny knotted bows and those bows represent each happy year of a beautiful marriage you hope to have topped with a bouquet of beautiful flowers symbolic of the freshness of the union you were about to enter. The flowers themselves had tons of hidden meanings but white meant purity of love. Pink meant kindness and faithfulness. And red of course meant passion which is why it is a color not often used in bridal bouquets but is a colour often given by a man. Some brides still have long ribbon bouquets and I personally adore them and I love that this silkstone had them.

Great in depth review as always! She's a special doll indeed as one of only two bridal silkies, the other being the Principessa. It's something noteworthy and I was hoping for an honorable mention of her, but oh well 😜😜 Her name is oddly confusing tho. Seems like a mix of Spanish/Italian/Portuguese and French, but personally I found it more natural to refer to her in full French as Marie Thérèse or simply Marie. But that's just me. It's the name of the famous 18th century Habsburg empress and mother of Marie Antoinette, but she's always referred to either in French as written above or in Spanish/Portuguese/Italian as Maria Teresa, but not both. Perhaps there's a story behind it that we don't know about ☺️☺️
