I literally started early December collecting Barbie. This was the doll that made me fall in love! I was at the toy store and saw her behind the counter when buying gifts for my nephew. They had two in store when I asked to see her. I fell in love and I walked to work that week for an hour everyday because I just had to have her! Just treated my self with money from Christmas with levender luxe. Love your videos!

I bought this doll last July. She is certainly gorgeous. You are so right. She has beautiful kind of bluish lavender eyes, very unique. Something surprisingly different in a very good way. I am also a sucker for embroidered flowers and so even if the pearls are lacking on the back of the dress, I still decided to get her. But you are so right again, we should take our dolls out of the box, inspect them and voice out the obvious lapses since this type of doll is quite expensive and since it's a gold label, in my opinion, we deserve a finished dress and a doll with beautiful seams. I had to ask for a replacement doll from our local toy store because the one I got lacked earrings, she had a kind of hairline fracture above her knees and her seams were messy. I forgot to closely inspect her when I bought her because I got so excited with her beautiful face and dress. When I had the doll replaced, I had to choose from two other dolls and still one of them had messy seams and kind of a hairline fracture on the thigh going to the knee. It is just my opinion, just may be, the silkstone is not the right material for having an articulated body or articulated joints and so I hope they will revert back to the model muse body. Overall, the doll is beautiful but I hope the quality will go back to what is used to be when they made Lisette, Provencale, Tribute or the old ones that made silkstone so popular. But as always, great review! But I will continue to support the silkstones in the hopes that they will recover their old-world charm, beauty and quality!

I'm a Silkstone collector, L5 is my favorite. I purchased cocktail dress too. Your review was spot on and the added detail with the pearls would given her an A+ in my book. She wasn't disappointment.

Love your reviews as always :) My take is that Ms. Cocktail Dress looks much better in person than in the online photos of her, I am loving her eyes! I thought I wouldn't like her based on the stills but she's very pretty in your vid. Totally agree with you about taking them out the box, I always take mine out give them the once-over make any adjustments & put them up not trying to have box hair lol.

I have watched this review a few times - It has convinced me to purchase this doll. I have been so hesitant to purchase the posable silkstones; I just really dislike seeing the joints. However, she is really beautiful and that dress is to fabulous to pass up!

OK yes...I, too, was so hesitant about the posable Silkstones. I still don't love seeing the joints but on this doll, her skirt sort of covers up the knees. And somehow (maybe it's the gorgeousness of the dress) her elbows sort of blend in. Definitely get her--I think you'll love her! Instagram me a pic when she gets to you :) xoxo Suresh

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I literally screamed when I saw your video! Okay so I'm so shocked! I wasn't expecting much on this doll but DAMN! She is gorgeous! Everything is almost perfect the only downfall about this doll is the flowers at the back.But that's still fine.And I died when you took her top off.I didn't know that!! Oh and the eyes are quite BIG! I never really touched a silkstone before so I didn't know that shes was heavier than the other Model Muse dolls.Love the fact the in every video , your outfit needs to match the doll!LOL XD.I think 100 dollars is not bad about this doll.And the new silkstone is not my type.Shes simple and I love simple things but she's just too simple. Plus her outfit looks cheaply made.I still love the camel coat doll. Does she and the camel coat barbie has the same problem with the black dress silkstone doll?Like the arms , wrist and etc are hard to move?Any way thanks for the video ! I love it so so so much !!

Hello friend! Ok so yea, she is absolutely FAB!! Honestly, I wasn't expecting much either. That's why I looked so shocked through the first part of the video because I was like..."omg...OMG she's amazing IRL!" Silkstone bodies are heavier because they're made of a sturdier porcelain-like vinyl. That's why all Silkstone boxes say "Genuine Silkstone Body." This doll and Camel Coat are much easier to pose than Classic Black Dress...their joints are much smoother. I think I just got a very stiff Black Dress doll which is fine. Hello Suresh, pleasure seeing you again, lovely review as always. :-) Now about the doll, personally I like her, I think she is a very beautiful doll, the one thing that bugs me, is not about her, it's actually about the box, I wish she had a dust cover. Being a collector that loves to display the dolls in their boxes, (I do take them out and rearrange them, after that attaching them back in the box) away from that nasty dust, for me personally a dust cover would have been great to have. As I don't collect just Barbie's, along side my daughter we also collect Monster High, Ever After High and Disney, that just my way of bonding and passing the collector baton onto her. And I find that all our dolls, especially the collector ones, look more beautiful and last a lot longer, freed from any dust. :-) My love of dust covers might also come from my ocd about cleaning and keeping everything clean and fresh, but let's just go for the prettier looking doll as my number 1 motive, LOL. :-) But yea, other than that, I think she is absolutely gorgeous, congrats on having her. :-) Wish you an amazing day and looking forward to new videos. :-)

Hello! Thanks for the wonderful feedback. You know, I've always thought it was odd that the Silkstones don't come with dust covers. There are some great tutorials I've come across where collectors show how they made custom dust covers. I've made a few using thick acetate sheets. But yes, I totally understand what you're saying. Suresh NY I've heard of those tutorials, but sadly I ain't no where near that handy or talented when it comes to that stuff. Maybe my son could help out (sorry, in case your confused, I have a 11 year old daughter and 21 year old son, again, don't try and guess my age, lol) if I need a dust cover at one point. He's very talented, he fixes all my dolls for me, if they need repaints or anything like that. Bragging mom alert lol, but he's super talented, with he's art and film making (he's graduating this year from film studies / film making college). :-)

Suresh NY I have a KZread channel, it's under the same name, I do have a collection video, but since that video was posted, I can definitely tell you that my collection tripled, also it doesn't have every single one of my dolls, I focused more on the pay line ones. Plus it's one of my earliest videos, not that great, with not a lot of views, really considering taking it down and doing a new updated one, that is if I have the time. It ain't easy to do a collection video when you have over 300 dolls, lol. :-) And KZread, is more of a hobby for me, I do videos to spend time with my daughter, I don't plan on posting regularly, I post when I can, I don't make money or anything like that of KZread, just a simple hobby. :-) But yea if you wanna see it be my guest, you can also check my Facebook page if you wanna, the link is one my channel, I have some dolls posted there, you can also see my gorgeous daughter and me. After i watched your video, i've decided to purchase my first ever silkstone doll but i can't decide between this doll or Palm Beach Coral that came out in 2010....they are both truly elegant but I can only afford one doll so... if you can only choose one doll, which one do you prefer ps, Love your video, so many details.
