I really loved your review. I've been watching your videos lately and just subbed. You actually inpired me to go back to my doll collecting hobby. I purchased this exact same silktone 1 day ago (2nd of my collection) and I'm so happy. I was going for the Blue Chiffon and had a change of heart. The overall craftsmanship on this doll is pretty incredible! I am in love with the nod to the Nouveau Style this doll is sporting. Truly well achieved.

She looks like Joan Crawford (who I adored). I added a black mink "dimitha" fur boa and she is one of my all time favorites!

I got mine yesterday....OMG she is 1000 times better than her picture,,,thanks for going through her outfit in detail...I don't want to do that

Such a gorgeous gorgeous doll! I'm loving the 2017 silkstone collection , especially since last years collection has been such a disappointment.Your video really just makes the doll look a lot more flattering. I haven't opened mine yet. Just so excited to have another beautiful tweed suit doll! This so reminds me of walking suit barbie. Also dying for blush and gold cocktail dress.

I agree, the thinner articulated body just doesn't fit with that era! The classic silkstone curvy body is the most complimentary for these dolls.

Just bought the "Walking Suit" Silkstone Barbie because I'm not a fan of the new body since watching many videos. I think this doll is beautiful but I like the blonde better and the Tweed Suit Doll has a very similar face to the Lavender Doll I also just purchase. I like this one, and I might get her. The thing that's bugging me is the bright white hat. I feel like it should be more of an ecru tone. I also think that if I get her, I'll add a narrow black velvet ribbon to her hair, to disguise the visible elastic band and just give it a little bit of polish with a small bow. I was thinking of adding a ribbon and bow to the hat as well, but I might ditch the hat altogether on this one. Will keep my eye on her, and if she goes on sale or we get club rewards or something, I'm getting her. Thanks for the in-depth reviews of these dolls, Mattel should send you PR samples. :)

Thanks so much! I see what you mean but I have to say, in person the white hat just really works. I, too, at first look was like "WTF?!" But then I got her and it all made sense to me. Although I don't think an ecru would have been bad either since her blouse is more of an ivory tone. And regarding PR samples...Ummm yea, I've reached out to like 305,201 people at Mattel and they don't give a damn. Anyway, thanks for watching! xoxo

Love everything about this doll, except for the body. I still can't get used to this new body and I agree with you, the body just doesn't fit that facemold. But other than this little detail, we can't deny that Robert Best has amazing taste. It's always a pleasure to watch your reviews, Suresh! She's gorgeous and has that whole "Endora" vibe going on. As lovely as the outfit is, I can't help comparing it to other Silkstone suits of years gone by. And boy, do I miss those tiny zippers! (Do you recall the amazing quality and detail of the repro American Girl red Matinee fashion? Epic!) I don't understand why the blouse had to be attached to the skirt but that's just me! Also, I totally agree about the gangly articulated body. By the way, I'm 99.999% sure which doll is going to be your next review! Let's see if I'm right!

Suresh NY I have just collected myself, the first doll being the Mermaid Gown from 2013. I have been focusing on them since. Aside from these, the Boater Ensemble and the Walking Suit are just as beautiful if you're into the neat, impeccable and sophisticated look.

Suresh NY Unfortunately, that's the bane for us Silkie collectors. Most Silkies increased in value since their initial release, and now most go for anywhere from $100-200 in average. I was fortunate enough to find some deal on certain grail silkies. Anyhow, before I forget, do check the Stewardess, Teacher, Shopgirl and the Secretary from the Career Girls Silkstone collection for the same impeccable feel..

She's perfect. Her eyes, her hair, the design I mean I think I was speechless the first time I saw her, specially when I opened her blouse . It's like I don't want to put her down... Interesting because yours doesn't have the light red elastic that holds the ponytail, plus I'm wondering why they kept the same box design from last year. Maybe they have it for the jointed silkstone collection. Can't wait for your next review. Im guessing it's the blush gold one. Can't wait to get her mid June

I agree with you! There were many moments that I was just totally speechless which I edited out of the video. So beautiful. I also was wondering why they kept the same box design. Hello! I don't collect many dolls pre-2005ish. I loved them when I was younger but I am really enjoying the high fashion element of the Silkstone and designer dolls of more recent years. Thanks for watching!

I just got mine. I love her! I have a question for all of you who purchased and deboxed her. Did anybody have an hard time placing the doll on her stand?? I had to give up after lots of attempts. Is it me? I think that the stand ( the top part where the barbie doll's thighs should sit) is pretty wider than usual (at leat of the ones i have) so i was unable to let it go under the tweed suit which is stiff and very tight on the body. I know that you Suresh do not actually use the silkstone stands and buy different ones...did anybody else noticed anything? I wonder if my stand has a defect. I ended up switching the stand between cocktail dress 2016 and this one since cocktail dress is a wide dress.

She's gorgeous. I understand about the body. I was hoping my aunt still had some of my mom's 1959 Barbies. I don't think so but I love the look and poseable body.

I have not but looking at the proportions of the garment, I do not think it will fit. The bust and hips appear to be smaller than the OG Silkies. I've been planning to do a swap on an upcoming video so stay tuned :)

Not really. They have very different vibes. There have been many variations of tweed suits in the BFMC collection but this one is closer to Walking Suit in cut, color and silhouette.
