First of all, I'm so happy you're back to reviewing silkstones :) Don't get me wrong the Integrity Toy dolls are amazing, but there's something about Barbie that is timeless. No other doll is ever going to take her place (especially when it comes to the silkstone line). I'm soooo in love with this doll, she is perfection! I love everything about her and the lingerie is just too cute for words. This is my favorite review (so far). Great job! ;)

I totally understand your delight with finding the lingerie! My dolls from Japan (Takara) from the 1980's had underwear under their clothes, and I remember my sister and I unwrapping and undressing them for the first time and finding the lingerie. We were as thrilled as you are! Your doll is gorgeous and what lovely, tiny surprises she had for you! :>) Great review - thanks!

It really is amazing how much detail they put into the original Barbie's (and their reproductions). I actually had no idea they did any that elaborately themed back in 1959. I guess I thought they all just came with the swimsuits originally. Thanks for another great detailed review! 😊~ 🎀👛🎀

So cute right?! I've learned that the original dolls in 1959 came in their black and white swimsuits and all the outfits came in separate fashion packs. I wish they would do that again--like how they did it with the Barbie Basics collection and all the separate fashion packs. Thanks for watching! xoxo

I am looking at this video and in the "next up" autoplay bit is the video with you and Jessy Alaya, I thought before I read it it was you with some country cousin of yours... don't tell him because I love his dolls lol... I love this channel too as you really know your fashion and you know dolls and that's always a pleasure! I was born the year before Barbie and so she has been there my whole life and I remember her looking very exotic. This is lovely! She is gorgeous! The porcelain skin looks luminous! The underwear is gorgeous!

Gay Parisienne was originally sold as a separate fashion, though it was also available in a store display version that could have been either blonde or brunette. Those dolls were not technically 'for sale' back in 1959, but they did end up being sold in many cases, and they have turned up in collections in the years since. The fashion was only pictured in the first booklet from 1959, along with Easter Parade and Roman Holiday Separates. All three are considered among the most desirable fashions from the 900 series. There are two variants of the original Gay Parisienne vintage fashion, one with a ™ label and shoes with holes for the #1 Barbie stand, and one with an ® label and shoes without holes. This fashion has been reproduced twice, and the porcelain doll you have is the first repro version. In the early 2000s, there was a vinyl doll wearing a repro of the fashion. Incidentally, Easter Parade and Roman Holiday Separates were also reproduced in the early 90s, in a special gift set with a vinyl doll. The doll that this porcelain repro is based on is the #1 Barbie, and I'm surprised that the porcelain version doesn't have painted toenails, since the original #1 Barbie did have painted toenails.

I got the Parisienne Pretty Silkstone (is this right?) and i think she looks a little bit better. But i like the porcelain Version too. So what, i like every Barbie!!! 😇 I got the Delphine from the background too. I'snt she AMAZING??? Love your Videos so much, please go on! I had the same lingerie surprize with silkstone Joan holloway from the mad men collection. Her's is a very devine teddy lingerie.. Its really ggood to visit old Silkstones because of how boring the new lines are

I love it when dolls have underwear. It's like getting more for your money. Not my style of outfit, but she seems very well crafted and detailed. Do you also collect older gown dolls, not silkstones or repros but collector dolls circa late 90s/ 00s like Givenchy, Wedgwood, etc? If you do I'm curious to what you think about the quality of their clothing and accessories.

Soooo extra right? haha! Only playline dolls have colored hair. Most all collector dolls have realistic hair color combos with the exception of the Toki Doki dolls. Some Pink Label dolls or dolls like Top Model have colored hair.

I swear balenciaga did it first with trying to get rid of what Dior did to a women's figure after the he world war with the bubble dress and just bubble/ballon styles of clothing and initially it didn't go so well but Dior did it and then that did better, but I'm pretty sure credit is due to Cristobal balenciaga

Remi Kiernan Mr. Pierre Cardin actually invented the bubble dress silhouette around 1953/54 which was then borrowed by many designers of the day including Mr. Balenciaga and Mr. Dior. The dress that I referenced in this video is a Dior version from 1958. I did not say that he invented the bubble silhouette. Each designer had a unique variation. Mr. Balenciaga's version, while beautiful, is not the one I referenced here.
